A40: Haba. Na me you wan dey tell about J.Cole. Since Warm Up days?
I have never questioned his penmanship. My quarrel with him has always been his production and beat selection. Importance of beat is grossly underrated.
There's a reason cult classics like Can I Live, Dead Presidents, Paparazzi by Xzibit still stick in your head almost 30 years later
Cole na like that ninja wey if you put am for gym to spar he go smoke everybody but come fight night e go come fumble. You can't execute beef without real venom and vendetta so if you know say you no get am don't jump inside to start with.
Like the philosopher DMX said. "You better buss that if you're gon pull that" I've known J Cole since like 03/04. I've come across him when he was a netcee on Canibus Central. I know say he go smoke all these guys if na just pen matter, but politics dey involved. |

BlueRayDick: It appears they (the family) are on a war path with Aig-Imokhuede, that's why she kept repeating " those Herbert thought to be friends " over and over again in the video.
But obviously Aig has the daughter and the little ones in his corner whom he's acting as their guardian currently.
What I don't understand is why the family cannot just find a way to be in good terms with Aig. They tend to benefit more if they have Aig and the kids on their side, making Aig their enemy will only leave them with absolutely nothing in terms of Herbert's estate. It's a simple thing. A man's nuclear family are his benefactors. If they want, they can share with their grandparents and uncles, but that is their choice. Extended families need to stop poking their throat in nuclear family business |

I remember during the build up to the PDP primaries, it was rumoured that those men were anti wike snd they sent General Gusau to ensure that he doesn't clinch the ticket. LordAdam16: I get it. I truly do. Buffett is still sitting on $320B.
It is safe to sit it out until the inevitable crash or major correction. ETF and chill. Take your S&P yield for a few years and you'll be at the ready like a kid at a candy store with an Amex Black Card. It's the waiting that gets to people. ETF is boring.
I do have to offer some clarity about my reasoning on tech basket performance. IMHO, many players have dotcom PTSD. There's a very real fear of INTEL-ing a portfolio.
Thing is tech is now a staple. Investors are treating it like biotech; when it is just like insurance, banking, industrials, real estate, retail, energy. If the economy crashed today, most in the market will bleed. And tech will easily be one of the biggest losers. But when the economy roars, tech will be right there leading the charge again.
Everyone is still going to search on Google and watch videos on YouTube. We'll continue to use Instagram. Businesses will keep paying subscriptions for AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. In a downturn, ad $ will drop off a cliff. When things pick back up, businesses will start buying ads again. That is the fundamental. Tech is as critical as oil. We'll always need it for modern conveniences.
That is one part of it. Here's the second part. Apple introduced Siri in 2011. Amazon launched Alexa alongside Echo in 2014. These weren't obscure events. Releases were public and popular. These were the precursors of ChatGPT, Claude, and DeepSeek. There has been a clear, distinct trajectory to AGI that didn't start with NVIDIA crazy 2023-to-present run. AGI may not be imminent. It could still be a decade away, but we will get there. We will throw as many trillions as is necessary until we crack it. And when we do, everything will use it in some form. Everything! AGI is not the only next-gen tech breakthrough Big Tech is on the verge of breaching. Autonomy. Robotics. Quantum Computing. Of course, the best time to buy would be after a crash. But if you were waiting on a crash since the start of Obama's second term, you'd have lost on historical gains. In any case, a crash will have no more than a 2 (at most 3 year) drag on R& . And again you're not buying a biotech stock hoping for an M&A or FDA approval to go parabolic. These companies are printing money today and will continue to do so unless there's an asteroid impact. The core 4 anyway - Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Meta.
That is the tech bull case. Tech already had its Patagonia recession under Biden. Google is trading at 23 P/E. It's peak was in 2017 at 55. They've all shed pandemic weight, which means they're nimble enough to take the next crash on the chin. Lose some value, then ratchet up.
Needless to say, tech stocks will never be the only success story. Waste Management has done 5x in the last five years. Walmart and Costco have done 3x in the last five years. Mastercard and Visa (payment duopoly). Hermes (affordable luxury). Caterpillar (construction equipment). EU defense stocks are on a tear for geopolitical reasons. Small caps are getting a lot of attention. These were obvious, uncomplicated plays.
Don't buy an airline stock, Wells Fargo, or Duke Energy, regardless of how promising they look. That's how you become a bitter "investor". As long as you avoid buying stocks because you saw a billboard, you'll be fine. I like the product or I shop there, so I'll buy the stock is a recipe for disaster. ETF and chill during good times. Then active stock picking when there's blood on the street is still undefeated.
cc raumdeuter Good analysis 23 PE is good for Google and way below my benchmark of 28, and it's a company that permeates every area of life unlike Facebook whose PE ratio is OK but can be prone to soufle collapses like when Zuck launched Meta and market wasn't having that narrative My wahala is uncertainty of trade wars and effect on interest rates which affect tech stocks to sege Any small caps looking interesting in AI space? |

Yes, my account manager told me rate would fluctuate and sometimes can be higher or lower but she will make sure to wait and enter whenever it is higher than that.
Yes, bamboo is an app for Nigerians, Ghana and South Africans to trade stocks both in NYSE and the NSE for Nigerians.
I was surprised they offered 8% but I thought it was low. Crypto exchanges like Binance can offer more incentives for staking yearly. . The account managers personal intervention is a shaky way to put stuff away for 25 years, sounds like a short term stuff Binance won't offer USDT at high %, na all those other crypto wey you will gain 30% on the crypto itself but the crypto could fall 90% same time. USDT staking is similar to banks offering |

If you ask me Google and Microsoft can do more relative to their peers pricing but that is an observation, not an investment thesis. Your property strategy is still solid and let 401k/investment funds or ETFs provide your diversification. LordAdam16 would know more but I'm not as bullish as he is. |

Livelystone01: Here's my issue. I set up a treasury bill for my son with an instruction for renewal at maturity for both interest and capital for 25years. That's with Ecobank and the interest rate was 18%. If it continues for 25years, he will have about 514m give or take due to the amount of capital I used.
Now, I also use bamboo for investment. I saw a dollar fixed deposit at 8%. My plan is to set it up for myself since my wife's own is with standard shattered bank.
I chose bamboo because it is investment friendly. I can buy stocks from Nigeria and US.
Your comment is making me think about leaving it in the dollar for that 8% instead of chasing the treasury bill on bamboo for 20%.
My target is long term.
If you were in my shoes, what would you do with the above information? Sorry was in meetings That means your initial was around N6m Is that the 364 tenor or the 91 day tenor I do back that to beat Dollar in the short term but you will not renew at those yields consistently for 25 years, and if you do, God help Nigeria. Dollar has returned 12.5% average for the last 20 years in comparison, so for comparison, multiply by whatever % bamboo is offering to back test it, which is in your case (1.125 x 1.08) = 1.215 or 21.5% I highly doubt anyone in money market is offering 8% for dollar fixed deposit though. That figure is suspect. Best the market offers is sub 4 or 5 at best. If you want to be agile, you can play the T bills short term and switch later, if you want to rest, buy dollar. But who is Bamboo? They must be suicidal to offer 8%, I won't put more than NDIC will insure there sha. |
