Apart from the recent problem with Iran and Israel, the truth is Yankee was satisfied with Assad Government cos Assad allowed the Kurds to breathe and Yankee have their bases in the Kurdish areas. But they are a threat to Turkey as Kurdish population in Turkey is large and they have been clamouring.for their own country for years. Kurds are present in Turkey, Syria. Iraq and Iran and are the largest ethnic group without their own country. They are quite secular and step in to protect Christian and Animist minorities when the likes of ISIS commit genocide.
