Democrats did a poor job in preparing American minds for inflation that would inevitably follow the pandemic. Instead of telling Americans the reality of what's coming post pandemic, they tried to own the time period and hope it won't get as bad as every economist knew it would.

Post pandemic inflation, just like pandemic job losses during Trump was inevitable. Trump gets a pass for pandemic job losses but Democrats don't get a pass for post pandemic inflation because they did not sensitise the people to it. GOP on the other hand prepared this argument since 2020 knowing inflation was inevitable.

Now 4 years later, and watching this debate, Kamala can't argue solidly on economy cos they did not prepare the groundwork.

To the layman, Trumps points are hitting better, and Kamala can't bring herself to address the elephant in the room and blame the inflation on the post pandemic opening up and expansion of money supply, just like Trump is blaming the job losses on the pandemic.
