raumdeuter:When you earn so much money in a short career, you only have one job and that is to turn it into fixed income via property. Too many of these athletes try to reinvent the wheel and go broke For property, what are your main considerations when investing, yield or capital appreciation? |
HOMOTOYOSI10:Catheter will be to treat a physical ailment and not his mental malady No doubt he will still have his primary residence, maybe one in VGC and one in Warri What a man with no future income prospects should do at this stage is sell those houses, downgrade to Lekki and use the equity to buy some properties that will give him cashflow Oruma is not the only one suffering. Babayaro was earning £20k per week at Chelsea and £40k at Newcastle. I reckon he cleared £6m after tax over the course of his football career. Babayaro filed for bankruptcy about a decade ago and now just lives in his primary residence which was worth £300k some years back. I wonder how that nigga is faring going bankrupt with no future prospect of income. Babayaro also blew his money on investments that his brother Emmanuel (Under 17 goalkeeper) convinced him to invest in. Emmanuel is probably richer that Celestine now despite not building a professional career after that Under17 world cup. |
andrew444:Not like this. They barely scored goals under Potter but they managed slim scorelines well |
BlueRayDick:It's a damn shame. He had fixed income in his hand for the rest of his life and chose to gamble. The emotional trauma is understandable |
chidekings:Oruma made money and lots of it. He played at top French level for 16 years. His downfall was lack of financial education. He committed N2bln to fraudsters which was a clean £8m at the time. What a wonderful CM he was. I preferred him to Okocha. He was a modern CM, never lost the ball but also pressed properly unlike Okocha. His longevity at the top also speaks to his dedication to physical fitness. Oruma played Under17 in 1993, immediately joined Lens and played mostly in French league till 2009, eventually retiring in 2010 after one year in Greek league. That's a lot of consistent earnings. Will never forget his 2 goals scored against Argentina in Under17 World Cup. That was the first tournament where I watched football with small sense. He absolutely dominated that tournament and finished top scorer from midfield. Without Oruma, there would be no Olympics either as he provided the Amuneke assist in the final and the pass that bounced off Ikpeba for Kanus winning goal in the semi. Oruma was a technical beast on the pitch if you saw him play in Marseille, and that dude would have been mid30s to late30s in real age then. Okocha really held him back. I still don't know what possessed him to put all his life savings of N2bln in oil block scammers. This guy should have properties all over France earning him rentals, and arguably earned on a par with Okocha. If he removed just £2m from that £8m and put in property, he would have been OK |
andrew444:They sold 92k tickets vs Madrid They are doing a good job, and their tickets sales are due to a mix of unrelenting success, Catalan pride, feminist pride and cheap tickets (about €10) Catalans are glory hunters sha. Since their men stopped performing, they must get their weekly dose of self congratulation. |
EmmanuelScott1:You mean RZA? And who is the them? RZA write every lyric with vexation ![]() First time I heard that song was in 1999 or 2000, I was dying with laughter, these are the lyrics that got me You can't speak a sentence without a curse/ Talking 'bout you're going to be a nurse/ Bïtch, to be a nurse, you got to go to school first!/ . |
Ballzproblem2:Boehly is just a boy boy. Why can't he summarize or send them copy of the contract |

afrodoc2:I no want comment on her looks since beauty is in the eye of the beerholder, but it seems she is bringing no intellectual nor genetic advantages to the marriage |
pocohantas:It's true na Don't you know that statistically the height of a boy trends toward the average of father's height and mother's height plus 5 inches, while the girl childs height will toward average of parents plus 3 inches I see midgets in her husband's future at a cost of N800k per month |
afrodoc2:lol. H Factor having babe wey siddon for couch, her leg no touch ground. If you marry that one, you go born midget. |
somehow:What year was the first Anglo Spanish war fought? You are just arguing for argument sake and deviating off topic Spain was the foremost economic power of the time and the British used their currency for International trade even while warring with them. End of story. |
izzou: ![]() |
somehow:Nobody mentioned paper. Coins is currency too. The British were using Spanish coins for trade even while warring with them
|
Vl3ly:He no boycott anything Reserves are maintained to allow at least 3 months of net imports The man tell you say him exports done drop by $15bln and the reserves he has in $, he wants to keep in order to maintain his currency value.as his exports are running low and impacting his ability to hold $ The man is overseeing a country dealing with over 100% inflation and over 50% devaluation of his currency. He needs to keep his dollars as price stability mechanism for the Argentinian peso not spend them on Chinese trade
|
liveLongNprospa:If UK, USA, Spain and others tell you how much they spent to evacuate, you fit shock. Those buses are not insured for warzone so you go cover that risk. Settlements go plenty, but I trust someone fit still chop money inside. Regardless that price is cheap even with corruption inside. |
seankafor:Airport is a private venture that is supposed to make money for the owners. Government has no business with it A Nigerian man is chairman of the company that owns 5 UK airports. Any Governor you see building airport in Nigeria is just looking for the fastest way to embezzle funds https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adebayo_Ogunlesi |
liveLongNprospa:That's not a bad cost to evacuate thousands from war zone. Hazard pay to bus companies plus payment to rebels not to shoot |
seankafor:For what? People from Newcastle drive to Manchester to use Airport The whole of South East France, South West Germany and North West Switzerland use the same airport which they jointly funded Governor just dey find way to embezzle money and leave monumental cost on future generations, after you will blame the West. How many people from Ebonyi dey fly plane on a normal day to justify airport? |
lordfalcao:Follow Jogginghoe to Arsenal bench, nobody dey hold you jor. |
BlueRayDick:Na so e suppose be. Rain no dey fall for desert and traffic is low. One road suppose last 50 years without maintenance there, no gutter needed |
seankafor:Ebonyi does not need airport. They should be serviced from Enugu or Uyo. Dey support madness. |
BlueRayDick: ![]() Abeg wetin Una dey discuss today? This place is looking like redpill thread |
lordfalcao:Robust DM allows a team to move up the pitch without fear of leaking goals on counter. That has been done. Ask attackers why our last 101 shots has yielded 1 goal |
somehow:In this world there has always been a dominant currency from Roman auras to Spanish peseta to British pound to dollar, depending on who rules the sea. Even when Britain fought Spain, they still used the peseta. When America fought Britain, they still used the British pound. China currency is inconvertible and is the only superpower available that can command settlement or reserve status, but China does not redeem it's Yuan from you, nor does it let it's currency float. Do you think anyone receiving Argentinian peso, Kenyan shilling or Russian ruble will keep such schizophrenic currency in their reserves when they can't predict its value by next year? They will immediately convert it to something stable. Dey play. China has been struggling to maintain dollar peg and been having capital flight. This is just a means to make their dollar peg less expensive. They even reduced their rules on bank reserves and other measures. China for the first time in a while found themselves having to boost Yuan up to dollar rather than keep it down as they have been doing for the last two decades. Dollar went on a beast run last year after the stock market sold into dollar. Bear in mind the US stock market was worth over $40trln so even a 10% flight to dollar is $4trln flowing into dollar. Yuan couldn't keep pace with that so they use other mumu for the job. China is only interested in pegging to USA. If Yuan becomes too strong, they lose their selling point. |
somehow:It's not about strength but price stability. Brics is not going to achieve anything. The reason they are using Yuan and not ruble is because Yuan keeps its price stable, directly pegged to the dollar. So in essence, they are simply referencing the dollar. They can't use ruble, rupee, real or rand which gyrate like backup dancers. To be the dominant currency, you must have depth and volume, be able to lubricate trillions in settlements daily, and your currency must be free floating and not manipulated and you must not care or intervene in its price. It also helps to have the most naval reach on the seas China does not meet any of these conditions. China has even refused to take back the Yuan that Russia was holding China is suffering it's most intense capital flight and simply needs more demand for Yuan to make pegging against the dollar less expensive. More countries hold Australian dollar as reserve than Yuan as we speak. Euro was meant to dethrone dollar and it took some market share but here we are over two decades later |
seankafor:I done tell you to come back in 6 months make we check Yuan vs Dollar. Too much talk no good. China is suffering their largest capital flight and dey use all these to make it easier to keep their peg to the dollar. They are not interested in decoupling from the dollar lest their exports become uncompetitive to their largest trading partner. Upon all the "dumping", them still dey track dollar back to back. And nobody is holding ruble bro

Exonerate1:The only match where we faced abnormal level of shots was Brighton game where we rested our first 11 for UCL 2nd leg Every other match, we have faced less shots than the average match. Go and check most matches played this weekend, average no of shots is over 10. Shots on target is even better, for example, we only faced one shot on target yesterday Our problem is clear - we have the 3rd best defensive record but the 5th worse attacking record. Boehly followed your ninny philosophy to the tee, buying weaklings all across our frontline including some of your named favourites, and I'm glad your favourite bogeyman Mason Mount wasn't around for it, otherwise you would have blamed him as usual. As for Jogginghoe, the only DM that made 4,5,6 goals conceded a regular occurrence in Chelsea's modern history, good riddance to him. I no longer have to worry about conceding 5 goals to West Brom, 4 goals to Bournemouth or 4 goals to Brentford like we did in this same fixture last season. In 20 years, Makelele, Essien, Mikel, Matic, even Bakayoko never produced the level of disgusting scorelines he made a regular occurrence at Chelsea. He should enjoy his time on Arsenal bench. |
iamoyindamola:We will come back like we did after 2015/16 season where we finished midtable. It's in our DNA. |
Exonerate1:We have no problem with defensive structure but attacking structure Good riddance to the DM who oversaw our 7 heaviest defeats in the last 20 years, across Sarri, Tuchel, Lampard and Potter, only one of which happened under Lampard. He should enjoy his prime on Arsenal bench
