You don't have to produce locally to know that producing locally would be better for the country

As an importer sef, it gets you to studying margins and knowing the margins from import and local production. And you will definitely be thinking that if Govt just do X and Y, you can make more profit locally. Some will even take that to Govt to get that X and Y implemented and switch from import to local production

As a President, he would be wearing a different hat that favours local production and will know those X and Y that he needs to implement

Businesses seek profit not social good. If the Govt made the conditions such that producing locally would maximize his profit, then that's what he would have done.

Apart from that, I don't believe his rise is all uhuru, that's why he's been vague about it. He would have received some patronage from Govt or Govt linked sources along the way. That goes for 95% of Nigerian billionaires. The Nigerian environment hardly allows for a clean rise.

Heating and electric is essentially the same thing. Just see heating as UK version of AC

So oil and gas price is the same the world over. If you are running your home in Nigeria with diesel which has no subsidy, there is no real reason to pay less than someone in UK, unless you are sourcing kpofire diesel. However UK Govt applies a lot of customs and excise on petroleum products so I believe we pay more than the Yanks.

You have to factor in the amount you spend to also source for light outside nepa like fuel or diesel for gen and maybe your solar inverter (even though this is a one time payment in some cases)
