Let's ask Elder who ran to mod cheesy

This section has no mod unless you call one

You guys are trying to twist it into me being homophobic or racist against Indians so you can visit your righteous indignation upon me. I think you guys are just salty that people you don't like are having a laugh over the matter. The fact that you continue to do this even when you know my stance on the matter further proves my point.

I will continue to make fun of the misplaced priorities of a woke bank that went up in flames.
You better go back to campaigning with flameignon, instead of posting obviously homophobic content

No... Not end of the story, This admin messing up the economy with inflation on steroids destroys SVB with interest rates.
Everything he said about the Woman is true. hate site how?

SVB operated without a chief risk officer for nine months before its collapse, which happened shortly after the head of risk management spent considerable time spearheading multiple LGBTQ+ programs. Jay Ersapah, the head of financial risk management for SVB's UK division, introduced initiatives including a Pride campaign and a new blog that emphasizes mental health awareness for LGBTQ+ youngsters. Ersapah also served as the co-chair of the European LGBTQIA+ Employee Resource Group and earned a spot on SVB's "outstanding LGBT+ Role Model Lists 2022." The bank disclosed a $1.8 billion financial loss, making it the biggest bank to fail since the 2008 financial crisis. Bernie Marcus, the co-founder of Home Depot, implied that the bank's failure might have been caused by "woke" rules like those introduced by Ersapah. The effects of SVB's failure are predicted to have an impact on the future of regional and mid-sized banks nationwide.
Shut up. She's the head of risk in UK subsidiary. Go and ask the Americans why they didn't have a Head of risk. Who told you she is responsible for appointing one and not the US CEO?

Only you clowns will see financial and technical matters and start talking about nonsense that doesn't correspond. Who looks at a banking crisis and starts talking about "woke", instead of liquidity coverage ratio, quick ratio, current assets and current liabilities? Foolish set of human beings.

On a more serious note, I made this post as a get woke, go broke meme. I wasn't clowning on her because of her race, gender, or sexuality. I was making fun of the company's misplaced priorities.
You went from Nairalands foremost gay rights campaigner to blaming a gay in UK for SVB USA collapse. Confused kid

SVB UK arm was bought for £1 unlike SVB USA which had no buyers. That means SVB UK had enough assets to cover it's liabilities. It was SVB USA that gave them low liquidity coverage by over extending themselves into long-term bonds. End of story.

I note a WhatsApp conversation with a friend whose company banked with SVB. You have really gone down the rabbit hole, posting nonsense from your hate sites

The very first sign of decline was in 2006 if I recall, when Soludo devalued the naira. I remember that well because I was buying a ride and that drop in value pushed me from a 2005 model to a 2003 model. I was cussing Soludo not knowing what else was in store. Up to that point naira was n100 or so to the dollar.

There has been a decline in value of naira right from then.

There was another sharp decline in 2012 or 13, not sure. Then it was Okonjo iweala who did it. That was the first loss in our company's history. Because they imported product with forex and were paid in naira (subsidy). So the entire downstream majors lost money that year.

I don't travel, but I do order stuff so I am acutely aware when there is a sharp devaluation because conversion costs pass my threshold and I say this can't work again
2003 to 2008 was very stable for Naira. It was in 2009 banking tsunami that everything fell yakata

Many niggas abroad actually took the jump to come back home from 2004 to 2008, many to great regrets

I know a guy who lost a house in Edgeware, probably worth close to £1m now because he fell £50k behind on his mortgage while chasing his Nigerian dream

Honestly, I thought you played football to some extent. Because if you ever did, you would understand that Havertz goal requires more technique than that of Muani. The reason is simple, when a ball bounces, volley becomes easier and lifting the ball above a goalkeeper becomes much more easier.

Intelligent players will always go a lobbed shot in Muani's situation. Even if you don't rate Havertz, don't tell me you expect Messi to fire a shot in Muani's situation.
What's the angle of the bounce?

You can't compare a ball bouncing horizontally to a ball heading in direction of goal

It's always easier to lob when the ball is heading in direction of goal.

When the ball is bouncing in the direction of throw-in line, you have to factor in changing the angle and the elevation with one strike. That means hitting a sweet spot on your instep that would do both at the same time. All Havertz had to do was change the elevation, the angle was already in the direction of goal. Muani lobbing the keeper is not impossible but strikers are unlikely to take that option 7 times out of ten

Ibime when u are less busy please give us a load down of what actually happened with Silicon Valley Bank(SVB) . I’ve been seeking a lot of videos by tech/financial analysts giving their opinions about how Tech bubble , bad investment decisions etc led SVB to the comatose stage it is now
Sector risk, low liquidity coverage, a stunning lack of macro-economic foresight, and finally poor CEO messaging

Awash with an accelerated increase in deposits during the VC boom of zero interest rate environment, they put too much of their cash into Govt bonds, about 60%, where typically a bank with a strong retail arm should be giving out loans that will yield more than the Fed funds rate. That was the big mistake of not reading the macro environment, and the rest is history

So they had poor short-term liquidity coverage having put their money in long term Govt securities

Their client base being tech are no longer seeing abundant VC money so deposits were slowing and withdrawals increasing and most of their cash was tied in Govt bonds. CEO then sent out wrong messaging that they were selling their Govt securities to cover (which would be at a loss before maturity, given the disparity between treasury yields and fed funds rate), instead of quietly borrowing on interbank market to cover. VCs being a small and connected community reacted to that messaging and decided to all withdraw at the same time, causing a bank run and that's the sum of it.

I was with one of our soccer dads at my son's practice yesterday who let me know the extent of tech industry exposure to the bank. He works for Bondaval, a UK Fintech and he said 80% of their cash was with SVB, and almost all tech companies bank with SVB. When I came home, I started withdrawing money off exchanges, cos in all likelihood an exchange with US exposure may bank with them. That's before Fed stepped in last night. Actually Fed should have stepped in sooner given how crucial they are to the Tech industry. It actually probably only takes a couple of billion from Fed to right their balance sheet in the long term, as against billions being wiped off SVB balance sheet as they start selling long term assets for pennies on the dollar to cover short term liabilities, and further tens of billions wiped off the tech industry from contagion and capital flight.

Mount was offered £170k under Abramovic 2 years go, he rejected it to play a game of brinkmanship. He has lost £10m by not signing that contract and wants to recover it with his next contract. He can recover it elsewhere. £170k is about the maximum he can get. It's Sterling and Lukaku contracts that gave these guys long throat. Even James should not have received £250k, that was a foolish move. With his injury record, na £150k fit am

There's a reason why u we have industrial estates littered around Lagos and Ogun state ; Closeness to working seaports.

Agbara in Ogun state has a terrible road network , but na there nestle , Reckitt Benckiser , unilever Nigeria , etc have their factories situated .
The American Industrial revolution was built on railway building. They sacrificed limb, blood and Chinese slave labour to achieve it. Same with the European Industrial revolution. Even India didn't put the cart before the horse, their railway network is legendary
.
I like studying videos like the below which shows the financiers that built America and their battle over the rail lines

Maddison and ward prowse are no better
Not at all

Maddison and JWB fit score directly from corner if keeper is not alert. KDB is KDB. We have not even come to Perisic who takes them accurately with both feet

Chilwell is just enjoying Fofana return to the team because Fofana dey attack corner. Infact all Chelsea CBs have always carried the expectation of scoring from corner, a cultural expectation established by the likes of Terry, Ivanovic, Alex, Cahill and even Luiz.
