Every expenditure over and above what the club makes will basically require them going to the credit market for loans, so they might take cheaper options sometimes rather than borrow big amounts. Chelsea is a loss making club so loans will fund player acquisitions

While with Roman everything is from his own pocket, with the loan from him to the club with no pressure to service the loan unlike external creditors. Ratcliffe guy would have been the same.
