The account of the 2nd guy in the video corroborate this story. What I think happened is that when the General Omota came, he introduced himself and ordered them to stop, and that is how them DJ switch knew his name.

Since they initially stopped when he told them to stop and they later continued, it means the order came from someone higher than General Omota.

Nobody will send troops on a mission without bringing the commander in on the plan. There are hundreds of blood thirsty commanders they could have used to execute the mission if massacre was the plan from the top.

It is every Governors job to give the order for FG intervention/martial law when his state is at a standstill. He is not responsible for how the army behave when they get there.

When your employee commit against your knowledge, you are also culpable/liable. You could either deny or throw them under the bus. In this case, the Army should throw them under the bus to protect themselves but Army's default position is usually to deny.

This video actually suggests that the soldiers went rogue rather than following any command. Not sure how you are still trying to tie this to SanwoOlu because this testimony may even absolve Buhari. The guy said their commander ordered them to stop shooting and was very unhappy they opened fire. That means that was not the command.

This testimony suggests we can put this down to the barbarity of the average Nigerian soldier. If Govt has any sense, they will court-martial these soldiers rather than denying the incident.

The curfew announcement is enough to make any wise and responsible Business Owner with a billboard that reads ENDSARS where protestors gather to off it in order to avoid issue with the authorities, much less the son a former Governor who will be seen to be boyboying the current Governor based on who his father is.

I don't know about Lekki, but the one on 3MB is usually put on around few minutes to 6am, and they go off around 10:45pm(I once worked there)

The aim is to target traffic. If people are not moving at a specific time, there is no point of showing anything. Afterall, clients pay heavily for those few seconds of advert we watch

Also, those boards are run on generators all through. They don't use PHCN because of inconsistencies. So you should expect how many litres of diesel that is burned

The reason those boards were up during the protests is because the company might have figured that the protesters were enough audience to advertise. They don't owe the protesters any debt to switch it on. They can as well switch it off from the beginning.

Your guy Izzou told us they sometimes switch off. Maybe they expected people to disregard Covid curfew. I just can't understand the train of thought that leads down this rabbit hole all the way to his son. It is not human nature to make your children co-conspirators in your atrocities.
