macjireh:The military is not a single person. A low ranking foot soldier or a commanding officer can take the fall for this without going above their head to a higher rank. All that justice cares about is that someone is punished for wilful actions leading to injury or death. Wilful action in this case could only be two things - a soldier firing errantly, or a commanding officer arming his soldiers with live rounds instead of blanks. As long as the military can point to a written protocol which states that live rounds are not to be used in civil disturbances, the military are blameless in the eyes of the law and either the commanding officer or foot soldier has disobeyed policy. This is why organisations write policies to protect themselves from liability. You would have to produce written or recorded instruction from a major, a general, COS or President to be able to pin it on them in any court. Na small boys go carry the blame if the matter goes any further, simple. |
iamoyindamola:They can't tell International community they fired live rounds in the air, which is mostly what they did because that protocol for crowd dispersion is not recognised by International Standards. If international community demand justice, this will end with one or two soldiers taking the fall, or their commander to protect everyone above them. |
This Barca-Juve game is just too boring |

EarlRagnar2:Would you want to work with such a disloyal person as your assistant that could brief against you to the squad or board anytime there is uneasiness with some players, especially someone with eyes on the managers job. Managers are big on loyalty, especially Mourinho and sack their assistants all the time if the assistant doesn't tow the managers line with the players or question the manager. Some assistants with loose lips even leak tactical info to their mates in other clubs. |
seankafor:He never shãgged his brother's wife for 10 years, just a teammates ex-girlfriend and never left his family homeless and penniless after wronging them. |
airmark: iamoyindamola:Giggs is a wicked soul. Till today he refused to apologise and his family won't speak to him. His brother even became homeless after that incident, and his family members in Wales did protest when he was made Wales manager. |

toolovely:SanwoOlu never denied inviting the military. Every State Governor upon declaring curfew invites the military. SanwoOlu said he is not the CiC in relation to the army's rules of engagement - in other words he invited them but he never expected live bullets to be part of their antiriot arsenal. This is why you shouldn't use army to quell riots or protests. Police should be more equipped and better trained to use water cannons, teargas, rubber bullets etc. If you invite army, they come with live bullets. |
daddytime:The CaCovid sef is an epitome of corruption. Imagine a charitable organisation distributing food through Governors who weaponise distribution of food against their people. Governors sef fit repackage all this food brand am with election materials. This CaCovid no go pass Dangote work. Probably gathered all his friends to buy all the noodles, rice, pasta from his companies. |
A40:That is incorrect. You hardly shoot at 90 degrees when shooting in the air. If you look at the videos, you will see most of the guns being held at 75 to 85 degree angle which will rain on the middle and back of the crowd in that picture. The front won't be affected because a soldier will not want to potentially injure himself or colleagues by shooting straight up. |
airmark:I did not discount that but it is clear that if any, there were very few otherwise the density of crowd would have ensured plenty fatalities, and it is impossible to say if any horizontal shot was ordered from command, errant soldier or a misfiring error judging by the low fatalities. That's why they call it stray bullet. |
A40:Without wishing to flog a dead horse, your facts above are at odds with the witness reports which stated 20 soldiers shot for 15-30 minutes (1st picture) 2nd picture shows the density of the crowd which is stretched out so far that the estimated 20-60 injuries would easily be caused by falling bullets 3rd picture shows the proximity of the soldiers to the front line of the protesters at the start of the shooting. Any sustained horizontal shooting would have led to dozens if not hundreds of fatalities. They don't need to aim at anything to claim hundreds of souls. As Afrodoc said, shooting live rounds in the air to disperse a crowd is unacceptable in any civilised society which I agree with, but the maths of horizontal shooting into all these people at this distance does not add up.

iamoyindamola:I be 4 times champion. Luck no dey strike 4 times |
A40:He only spoke about the 13 he took to Hospital. Fatalities may or may not come from his 13. I don't see reason for him lying about his 13 cos he confirmed fatalities from the ones he took to Hospital from Lekki-Ajah Police shootings. I have not disputed the 2 to 12 fatality figure. In a crowd of hundreds or thousands, the probability of 2 to 12 fatalities from strays is likely in a shooting incident, but does not correspond with the fatalities I'd expect from sustained and premeditated horizontal shooting from many soldiers which should number in the hundreds if I'm being frank. In a civilised society, this would be called a massacre but in Nigerian context, the number of fatalities speaks to routine army behaviour of shooting in the air with a few strays. A40:It is human nature to rush a gunshot victim to the closest Hospital(s). The only reason to take them further afield is if they need imminent surgery and Theatre capacity is full as we saw in your video. Of the 13 injured that guy rushed to Hospital, only one was advised for further transfer due to theatre capacity. This speaks to low velocity injuries rather than horizontal shooting. A40:The video I saw showed two injured but very much alive protesters being taken to the soldiers from the back. If the soldiers had shot horizontally, it's the people in the front that would have dropped. You can also corroborate with the video from the high-rise building, and there were no multiples of bodies with the soldiers, nor did they cart away multiple bodies. The people videoing from the high-rise have a bird's eye view of the incident and are not in danger and have no reason not to document the reality. The fact people in the front were still facing and videoing the soldiers as they took the injured to them shows they were not under horizontal attack. A40:That may be the work of a stray bullet or an errant shot, but you can catch a bullet to any part of the body depending on how dispersed the crowd is and the angle of the air-shot. This is why celebratory gunfire is banned in most cities cos bullet must land, and in a packed protest, you have high chance of bullets landing on people with low impact. Remember say na celebratory gunfire wey Okonkwo take kill pesin for Things Fall Apart that got him banished from Umuofia. Also we are talking about Nigeria here where patients often bleed out from intermediate wounds, where there is no Public health capacity and limited private health capacity. This is not the West where they can save many lives from major severity wounds with a lot of public health capacity to treat the injured in a terrorist incident. In Nigeria, you would likely die from an intermediate severity wound especially when capacity is stretched. Which leads me to deduce that we are talking mostly about minor wounds from falling bullets. A40:What is there to aim for when shooting into a massed crowd? You can't miss. We have seen videos of protesters at the front taking injured protesters to the army who are 10 metres away. 5 soldiers at that range will kill far more than any single Vegas shooter shooting from hotel window. An AK-47 can dispose a 30 round clip in 3 seconds and can let off 600 rounds per minute so why won't 5 soldiers at that range do way more damage than the Vegas shooter? A40:The casualty count and severity of injuries is more consistent with stray bullets and falling bullets in a crowded area. The fatality rate is nowhere near high enough to suggest there was any sustained horizontal firing by even one soldier. It may speak to one or two seconds burst of horizontal firing by one soldier which you can call stray bullets. I'm only calling it stray cos I can't determine at this stage if it is premeditated from command, or from few seconds of errant soldier behaviour or genuine misfiring error. The initial reports of 49 deaths is what made me think it was premeditated from command but the actual numbers materialising forces me by logic to veer toward the other two possibilities. |
airmark:I do keep track of these videos methodically, and while your video was compelling, showing lots of blood on that market woman, it does not prove an imminently life threatening injury from horizontal shooting. In larrides video where the guy gave detail of the people he took to hospital, he gave detail of a market woman selling stuff at the protest being one of the 13 he took to Hospital with no fatality among them. The market woman was in the first set of people he took to Hospital. Chances are high it's the same woman. I put that together with A40s video of the same guy speaking to the Doctor in Hospital having arrived with his injured and on the doctor's assessment, one of the guys needed transferring to another Hospital having triaged the injured as his Hospital Theatre was occupied. He was able to accommodate the other injured people the guy brought without immediate Theatre intervention. That's why I said your video is more compelling, without drawing definite conclusions from it. A40 and larrides videos just added more detail to your video about the same man who was rescuing the injured, likely the same woman and the doctor's assessment of the injuries. |
Is that Chelsea I see above Arsenal in league table? Couple of weeks ago, some people wouldn't let us hear word about Arteta. |
A40:The same guy in this video is the same guy in larrides video who said none of the 13 injured he took to Hospital died. The doctor saying he has one dead in this video is not inconsistent with what I've said about a small handful of fatalities from strays or a few seconds of errant soldier shooting. If this is the closest Hospital to the tollgate, and it stands to reason that you would rush injured victims to the closest Hospital, and you have doctors confirmation of one death so far, this is consistent with stray bullets rather than any sustained horizontal shooting. Also knowing the Theatre capacity of Hospitals in UK, much less local Nigerian hospitals, I can tell you for free that most of the injured survived without Theatre treatment which is consistent with low impact injuries. This doctor even confirms in this video that this hospital only has one theatre and it is currently occupied, and yet has a number of injured whose death should have materialised within a couple of hours if they had major impact injuries. @ bolded, that's just it. It can't be more than that. You can't tell me Soldiers will shoot automatics consistently into a crowd and there won't be multiple fatalities running into hundreds even. A single Las Vegas gunman killed 58 and injured 850 in 9 mins of shooting from distance in his hotel room and most of those in the first couple of minutes, before everyone scampered and ducked and he started picking people out. Guy, I won't suspend logic even though my sympathies are with the protesters and for the first couple of days after the shooting, I called it a massacre on here, but none of the evidence has stacked up to being more than the usual army shooting in the air with strays and falling bullets. Everything about Lekki tollgate from every video to no of casualties is consistent with army riot behaviour of shooting in the air with a few strays. That's why we always warn about strays when going to protests. |
Hohenheim:I just transfer the guy. I took 4 point hit to remove Ings and Jimenez for Kane and Antonio also, with Antonio on my bench due to Man City fixture. Kane will need to make up the 4 point hit plus Ings and Jimenez points to make it worth it. Chei |
airmark:DJSwitch had live video running for over one hour and didn't show one dead body. Seeing someone lieing on the ground from a distance, you could easily thinks it's a dead body when it's an injured person. This guy is responsible for evacuating most of the injured and the fact he evacuated 13 people and none died is consistent with low impact wounds from falling bullets. iamoyindamola:The dead bodies would be proof that the Army shot directly at protestors. That Nigerian army shoot in the air during protests is not news and the injuries are consistent with that. BlueRayDick:Armies do this all the time. . . the reason they would do so is so they don't get roped in to the bodies the Police dropped at Lekki-Ajah axis, because media will hang those bodies on them and they will not be able to explain their way out of it. |
CSTRR:Accomplished or not accomplished, Giroud cannot press quick enough for most modern managers style of play. |
