11 years ago one of my padi (not the closest) was getting married. I bought all the drinks for his wedding, both soft and hard drinks. The Baba wasn't strong then but is stronger now. His wife has never forgotten that act till today. Anytime we see which is probably once a year, she will pack all manner of foods for me. They even insisted we stop by their house for 2 nights while we were driving round the country on our summer holidays this August and she asked us to send list of every kind of Naija food we want to eat in advance which she meticulously prepared.

Even as of 2 weeks ago, he called me and my wife asking for our shoe sizes and our childrens shoe sizes, e be like say he done see better hookup for shoes. My wife asked why the guy is always going over the top for us, I said it's a Nigerian thing, Baba is still showing appreciation for what I did at his wedding 11 years ago.

It's either the guy showed the appreciation in a phonecall, or he didn't show appreciation with that lousy text.

Someone who can casually generate N4.8m from friends in 3 weeks just by casual referrals is probably highly social and has built habits around social norms (like expressing gratitude)
