lordfalcao: sissoko also Bleep up. When he got that pass, ran two seconds. Son has already made space for the pass, and if he had passed coupled with son pace, before vvd will turn to mark son he would have ran past him to shoot.
If it's kdb am very sure he will pass in 2 seconds to a more Better shooter A better player will act like they want to shoot themselves, making VVD to rush them, then pass to Son at the last second Sissoko from the start only showed that he wanted to pass to Son |

raumdeuter: Okay so it's not excellent defense only that Sissoko was the poor shooter
Or it was excellent defending and its the best to do in that situation regardless of the players involved
You now see the vvd rectum dwellers are the ones with issues Sissoko being useless at what every footballer should be able to do is now the standard for excellent defending Players make decisions based on other players ability all the time eg you can press up high on Giroud cos he is slow, but with Mbappe, you may give him 5 yards to account for his pace. It's only autistic defender like Boateng that will see every player as the same and rush them all equally whether it's Ifeanyi Udeze or Messi running at him. Boateng must be a counterball footballer, thinking each player has the same ability like they are all Coca-Cola bottle tops. |

For almost 5 seconds, Sisoko had a free run on goal given to him by a defender and that somehow translate to great defending That's what makes his action better than simply blocking a passing lane. Over the 5 seconds, he kept readjusting his body back and forth to keep the passing lane closed. Most defenders can block a passing lane once but to do it repeatedly by adjusting your body position and running trajectory repetitively requires a thinking defender. It's not every mumu that run in straight lines like Boateng. Boateng does not have the intelligence to keep concentration and awareness of both players positions for that length of time. Without looking at Son, he tracked Sons run for a good 5 seconds while keeping cognisance of how the threat from Sissoko was developing. If Boateng try that, one of his brain cell will burst and he will collapse with brain aneurysm. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Ibime(m): 1:10am On Apr 01, 2019 |
raumdeuter: The VVD defenders claimed it was intentional to let Sisokko shoot since VVD knew Sisoko was a worse shooter than Son just like Giroud is a worse shooter than Griezz. Howedes being a competent defender didnt wait to evaluate the poorer shooter, he simply went for the threat and not backing away to allow a shot on his goal
Howdes back away, Giroud miss target like he mostly does and we will be here hailing him like VVD
The inability to score was mainly on Sisoko and very little to do with any defensive skill of the guy who gave him a free pass to shoot Shush, he didn't give Sissoko no free shot. He rushed Sissoko at the appropriate moment, just when he took that shot which is what unnerved Sissoko. He literally achieved the feat of marking two players without dividing himself in two. This is the moment Sissoko took the shot. VVD had caught and unsettled him.

raumdeuter: Actually everyone airmark says is good ends up being bad and this is an example here
Sisoko was the imminent danger too and he was moving on goal, Son was wide. You dont leave the man with the ball and be protecting the man without the ball especially when the man is Central.
The excuse given to cover VVD was that he had the knowledge that Sisoko is a worse shooter than Son, which is similar here, Giroud is a worse shooter than Griezman, Only that Howedes didnt leave Giroud under the guise of being the worse shooter he went to close the active man with the ball. That is smart defending Giroud is not a worse shooter than Griezmann. Giroud through on goal on his left foot is as dangerous as anything you wish to face. Giroud finishing is unquestionable, it's only lack of pace that does not allow him get in dangerous situations as often as Griezmann. Son was not wide anything. One pass would have put Son one-on-one with Alison. VVD took a calculated risk in an almost hopeless situation. His calculation worked, and he still rushed Sissoko at the appropriate time to unsettle his shot. He came out victorious and you are here crying more than the bereaved. It's best you focus on Krychowiak and co in your tussle with Airmark, you cannot win war with VVD who pummeled your team just 2 weeks ago. We never heard you comment on VVD ever before till you saw Airmark hailing him. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Ibime(m): 12:29am On Apr 01, 2019 |
airmark: Those who know football would be laughing at your ignorance.
Out of two evils, you choose a lesser one if you are smart. Son had 70% of scoring if Van dijk had rushed Sissoko. Sissoko had 30% of scoring with his weaker foot.
Even Pochetino hailed that smart defending. You should be analysing ludo game. No mind am jare. VVD still rushed Sissoko the moment he became a bigger threat than Son. He did not catch him but his lunge was close enough to rush Sissoko and ensure he was unbalanced to take the shot properly. He forced Sissoko finally into a decision Sissoko didn't want to take and had not set his body properly for. Sissokos only mind was hoping VVD will rush him so he can easily play in Son, but VVD called his bluff and he was unprepared to take that shot when he finally saw there was no way to pass to Son. |

raumdeuter: Howedes faced with Giroud and Griezmann went for the man with the ball
According to some people he should have gone to block Griezman and leave Giroud to have a free shot because Giroud is a poorer shooter compared to Griezman
https://j.gifs.com/VAvAkO.gif Do those look like the same situation to you? Giroud is the imminent threat in this situation, already through on goal and on his left foot. Griezmann is behind Giroud, and Boateng is there to cover the pass to Griezmann, but Boateng cannot catch Giroud. Either you no know ball or hatred will soon kill you. It's not everyone Airmark says is good that must be bad. |

nihilistjnr: Have you ever beasted a WC final? lol. We even do such things in 5 a side till today even on weekly basis. You hold off diving in, block the passing lane and try force the player on his weaker foot, then dive in on him just when he's about to pull the trigger. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, it's just about reducing the risk. I expect any professional defender to do similar thing except mumu defender like Luiz who will dive in and ensure 100% chance of a goal, when you can reduce it to 50% like VVD did. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Ibime(m): 10:46pm On Mar 31, 2019 |
That was good defending from VVD. I won't call it great because I expect any professional defender to do the same thing. He blocked the passing lane until the last millisecond when he dived in on Sissoko to unsettle him on the shot. I've done such a thing a few times in such situations. |

Chelseafan1: Chelsea problem big pass any player, hope Raumdeuter and Ibime are watching. Don't mention me ignorantly. Nobody called him the problem, neither is he part of the solution. Every year, he would be blaming manager. What has he done? If Sarri coach Ronaldo, you think Ronaldo would be blaming manager year on year for failing to qualify for UCL when he can score goals himself to at least make top 4? As if Chelsea players have not been coached by wack managers like Avram Grant, Scolari, AVB and co in the past and still achieved some expected minimums. 2016, he blame Mourinho, 2018 blame Conte, 2019 blame Sarri? Oya do what you can to make top 4 first, he can't. What makes him different from Willian? Top players make difference, not point fingers every year. |

A40: Nothing wrong with having short prime so long as you use it to win all the important trophies for club and country. Yet during that prime, nobody crowned him top defender cos they knew he's just a carryalong in a once-in-a-generation German and Bayern team. Once that generation declined starting with the exits of Lahm and Schweinsteiger, Boateng showed his true self which led y'all to claim old age has caught up with him at just 28 years old. |

Greatihex: just look at the kind of ridiculous things you are saying. You are beginning to sound like raumdeuter now.
Like i said, you may not like the way hazard plays [which is not a bad thing] but please stop making ridiculous statements while trying to defend your other ridiculous statements.
What made a 22 year old player, who is having his second season in a club like Chelsea prominent? What made a team without a reasonable striker fight for the title? Don't digress from the original argument. Which PFA winner was compared to Hazard? No doubt Hazard was good, but not great. Great was Suarez, RVP, Bale, Salah who broke records on their way to PFA, while Hazard just had a good season and won PFA due to rising tide that lifted his boat, unlike these other great PFA winners. |
