As always no maintenance culture. Malfunctioning TRACON and Threats to Nigeria’s Airspace https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2018/10/12/malfunctioning-tracon-and-threats-nigerias-airspace/amp/ |
giles14:All done. I've modified my post. Competent igbo man, an incompetent Hausa man. Thanks for the correction. And I am not Hausa. |
SLBM:You can also add largest deposit of natural gas, large deposits of gold, nickel, iron ore, coal, uranium, farming land and a very large population to exploit these resources. Are we done? Good, then let's talk economics. It surprises me how some like to throw figures about without knowing the basics of economics. Nigeria's GDP is in trillions only in naira, in dollars? 300plus. Do you even know what GDP is? It doesn't mean sh*t. What we need is increase in government revenue, stop all our revenue leakages things along that line. And while you might be correct about natural resources (because it's debatable between Nigeria, Congo (yes DR Congo) and South Africa) debatable because the exact value of Nigeria's and Congo's resources are unknown because of..... unreliable data from both countries. so what? You go to site, chant abracadabra then viola! All the golds, the crude oil, the natural gas starts to pop out? All these things are primary products (things that have to be extracted) it took total 3 billion dollars to build and oversized ship and container to extract oil from egina field. GDP doesn't equate to hard currency. And comparing Nigeria to those countries? Nigeria's population is almost double the next in line, Ethiopia. Show me a country that has up to 200mil population, 250 ethnic groups and about five hundred Languages doing better than Nigeria, not in military terms but general societal issues because when you can't fix your societal issues, you can do nothing. And don't mention US because most of them are immigrants so they don't have that sense of entitlement like Niger Deltans and the rest. And don't mention India, China (Brazil?) because they are not as diversified as Nigeria. I am not making excuses because things like corruption, nepotism, and sheer incompetence also plays a major role, but these things will not matter if an igbo man does not have to choose between a competent ignoring man or an incompetent Hausa man. More money was lost in the US than nigeria between 911 and 2008 crisis. They didn't get noticed until after, you know why, because US has a very very very laaarge economy, grow the economy, get investments and we can buy all the F22 and s400 we need. Unless that is done, we can all shout about our resources thy kingdom come. Lastly, Which will you prefer? A personnel with all the basic amenities or one with all the hardware in the world but but worries about things like accommodation, feeding etc. I like what the CAS is doing, build from scratch. This might sound boring to most but I am not a military kind of guy, I roll the econs. |
The question is "How many countries are capable of that?". When people talk about US military they always forget something important. The US economy. When you have a GDP of 18trillion, spending about 700billion on military is easy. When the said military contribute about 2trillion to your economy yearly, well it's easy and f$cking convenient. Look at it this way US manufacturing sector contributes 2.2trillion dollars to its GDP but about 90% of it goes to military related equipments (which is why US still imports machineries and electronics from Japan and China despite its advancement in technology) and only about 40-50billion worth are exported yearly, the rest goes to the US military which is paid for from the said billions. It is a perfect cycle (dod spend hundreds of billions, military complex pumps out trillions) albeit a risky one because the moment DOD stops spending, manufacturing sector goes down which in turn affects the rest of the economy. So yes US can afford it but what of the other countries, not UK or France or even Russia can do that despite all of them having trillion dollar economy and military complex worth billions. China maybe. Remind me again how much Nigerian military contributes to our economy last year? ![]() |
Odunayaw:No worry I no go ask for your account number . My bad, I am already used to opposite, try behind RCF, beside SMS. |
Odunayaw:forget say na raining season we dey, ground still hard. And no turn the mata for my head na, na me first talk so na you go arrange the suya, anytime wey you ready I dey opp RCF church (penthouse). |

abiodunalasa:SWAT AND SARS have nothing in similar. SARS is an anti robbery unit while SWAT are heavily armed and well trained police regular cops call when in need of more firepower. They are more akin to the police special force than SARS. |
joshingjosh:Symbolic Staff of office. If you notice only officers with "Chief" use them. |
Sizzorkay:It's all about politics and incompetence. For the sake of your sanity I suggest premium times and Daily trust. They don't care who is PDP or APC, they criticize, rip and shred everybody. From the presidency to the military to the Senate. And their headlines are quiet moderate. |
iblawi:You are missing the point. What I am trying to say is that anything can happen in 2years time. |
Xbee007:This doesn't make sense. You can just project something like this. If Nigerian Air Force is growing (which it is) : at what rate relative to saaf? What if saaf increases defence spending next year and decides to order 20 more gripen and have all the current ones upgraded to the latest version, or order more hawks, the current service Chiefs have exhausted their tenures, twice it has been extended what if PMB is defeated in next year's election and the next CAS is nothing but a bumbling fool, what if Senate decides to half our budget, then what? What if what if what if....... Besides there is an ongoing argument about NAF Vs SAAF and when you run about making videos like this, you are undermining our efforts. Not cool bro, not cool at all. ![]() |
abiodunalasa:*Sighs* (shakes head) |
nemesis8u:Just imagine if you break your legs instead of breaking up with her. Now that's what I call funny ![]() |
nemesis8u:I am sooooo confusing confused right now |
Odunayaw:QUESTION! Nope. I don forget the road to MX and I no go remember till next month. ![]() |
MiddleDimension:What, when, how, why who, are you sure? Which version? How many? Did you mean next month as in "tomorrow" or next month as in next "upper month"? Come on dude. Something like this cannot be in sentences, it should be in paragraphs. Oya spill spill spill, yarn us the matter sharp sharp. |
jln115:OK, my bad |
Xbee007:He said more expensive means more sophisticated which is a shallow thinking from Henry, he went further and said "that is the problem across the board in ur country" (i.e Nigeria) |
jln115:And which actions led you to that statement. The super tucanos or the helicopters, or is it the OPVs from China or the t72s or whatever. Please explain what you have seen that led to "which actually is the problem across the board in ur country" |
jln115:Meaning at the bolded |
newafricaken254:is that a girl or a doll |
walemoney007:Typical. http://www.army.mil.ng/directorate-of-nigerian-army-welfare-limitedguaranteedepartment-of-civil-military-affairs You can also check for NAFWIS for Air Force NAVWIS for navy. Now your turn. Proof to me that Nigerian military personnel are not insured. |
walemoney007:Proof/Source @bolded |
@abiodunalasa I think the Beryl will be the standard rifle for infantry. Tavor is there for CQB |
lionel4power:Calm down dude. https://www.google.com.ng/amp/s/www.rt.com/uk/383192-jordan-saudi-may-military/amp/ http://ottawacitizen.com/news/national/defence-watch/canadian-team-trains-jordanian-military-in-how-to-co-ordinate-airstrikes/amp |
I will go with Niger state. It's sparsely populated and it's certainly big enough |
I can't help but wonder what deal FG struck with BHT in return for the girls. |
