TravelRe: Roads In Dubai Vs Roads In Nigeria (Photos) by icedbreez(m): 9:45pm On Dec 09, 2019
Nigerians don't like Nigeria the way Emirates like and promote UAE.

U pick roads from the city/financial centre of Dubai and then pick village roads in Nigeria and start to compare.

Have u been to Sharjah? Ajman or other rural Emirates in UAE?

Try promote ur country small, hate ll get u nowhere.

This is more than good news. During my stay in Awka I saw tanker drivers as the single biggest threat to human life there, so reckless they are scary. I survived one incident through Jesus.

Leaders taking action is a good sight, kudos to Gov Obiano.

I will let you in on the big secret of Nigeria (even though it's hidden in plain sight):

In the event those crooks in Abuja are unable to sell crude oil for a straight period of a month max, Nigeria will collapse into complete anarchy. The only thing propping this country up is oil revenue.
I hear you.

china has never been a wasteland, historically they have been an industrial nation, small japan didnt defeat all of china but a few weak places

Maa zedond did not make china what is it today, what he did was to unify china and create a communist state, during his rule, china was a poor country.

the opening of china made china rich.

there is a reason hongkong an island is more developed that china and that is because of less government interference in trade and the rule of law, also protection of private property aka property rights

Yeah it the function of govt to provide electricity, school and health apart from that nothing more.
Constant electricity. Schools, Good roads and adequate healthcare as you mentioned are enablers, catalysts for development... Still comes back to the Govt, actually development starts with the Govt but ends with the private sector.

CareerRe: 5 Ways To Know It's Time To Quit Your Job by icedbreez(m): 6:26am On Oct 02, 2019
Nigeriahomebiz:
Good Afternoon Nairalanders,

This is my 4th Post here and I am only too happy to share my knowledge about what it takes to be self-employed working from home in Nigeria. In case you don't already have it send me an email to: nigeriahomebusiness@gmail.com to get a free copy of list of 20 home businesses you can start today in Nigeria.

Disclaimer: Some sentiments to this post will likely be in this Buhari economy when jobs are scarce why should anyone want to quit his job? I am not saying all will succeed in home business but you are better off than being employed on a job you hate. If you are one of such people please explain if getting paid peanuts can equate to making peanuts from your own sweat? Here goes today's post. How do you know it's time to quit a job? What are some ways to know if it's time to move on to something else? Let's set the ball rolling.

5 Ways to know when to quit your job

1. If your take home, can't take you home
If what you make in a month as salary cannot sustain you for 30 days or more and you have had that job for over a year, the only thing that should keep you on that job is if you have other means of making money from it or if you are gaining something else (new skills, connections or access to strategic information). If there is also a good chance your employer will give you a raise soon, you can still hang in there but where none of this applies, you are better of running your home based business.

2. You are not likely to be promoted beyond your current position
If you have a job where you have reached the ceiling, no more advancement or promotion for you that means your career options are now gone. If you want to see better things for yourself as far as career goes, you need to seek other opportunities e.g new job, start a new business or secure a second income stream.

3. You and the Job are not compatible
If you are 'stuck' on the job which means you want out because you can't use your initiative and drive to perform it well, that means you are tied down to doing what you really don't like. You tend to get better and eventually master what you love doing.

4. You are getting more stressed and less motivated
If you wake up feeling like a heavy load is on your body because you have work to go to and/or you don't feel like doing simple tasks you are being paid to do, that means your work is stressing you and you lack motivation to do it. The danger in staying long on a job like this is that you will slowly fall sick (emotionally and physically) over time if you remain on that job for a number of years to come.

5. Your job deprives you of quality time
If you don't know what your children are going through everyday because you return from work when they are asleep and leave for work before they wake up, you shouldn't blame them if they turn out to be different (in character and manners) from what you always wanted for them. Parental input in child upbringing contributes massively in the happiness and future success of children (that is scientific proof talking not me). Your job is interfering with your parenting duties.

and your standard of measurement for a sellable and competent governorship aspirant is one who has zero experience in public administration, one who can't address public, one who will return us to the alamco era of share the money, one who will be there as a figure and be ruled by anotherhuhhuh??

Douye is not the best, but he is better than Lyon.

Are u aware that Tonye Isenah has finally decided to concede the house of assembly speakership to someone from southern ijaw? That's how Dickson will force his way into all key members of the party n compel them to work for the party.
Let me school you bro.

1. Zero experience? David Lyon was Local Govt chairman of Apoi Olodiam RDA.
2. Addressing the Public? Where were u at his unveiling? Never mind he is coming to officially open his campaign office today with HE Timipre Sylva, bring along your microphone and hear him address the mammoth crowd that is sure to turn up.
3. Alamco era of share the money? On this point I feel for you because the Administration of Alamco was the best period of our fledgling state where the populist and people friendly policies of Alamco made people build houses, buy cars and hundreds of bayelsans were sent abroad on government scholarships. Cars were called pure water on the streets of yenagoa and corpers were lobbying to come and serve in bayelsa. All that ended with your tight fisted and kill joy Dickson who doesn't want anybody to be smiling...commissioners and civil servants salaries were slashed, no promotion and those promotions already gotten were not implemented, just yesterday Friday pensioners who were crying for no payment and protesting at the govt house were roundly beaten up by the restoration goons. Honestly I can go on and on but I won't. I just feel sad for people like u who are suffering and yet smiling.
4. Douye is not the best? Yea we all know that. In fact we also know he's more tight fisted and wicked than Dickson who refused all pressure to field Ayawei because DNA will make him appeared bad so he forced in someone worse than himself.
5. Speaker resigning. Well, this more than anything confirm my assertion that PDP is bleeding out. Members are decamping everyday so you are calculating to give Speaker to Obolo to stem the tide of defections, it's southern iIjaw politics we are talking about bro and you know what's up. All the big players who own the river are David Lyon's boys. So don't go there,
Let me just stop. The game is up for PDP in bayelsa.

Dickson killed PDP. Even GEJ don't bother to show up for meetings anymore.

How? The most annoying thing about you guys is that, u are not bayelsans neither do you resident there. Only on the internet u know the geographical area named bayelsa, yet u won't go a day without writing about bayelsa. Who killed PDP in bayelsa? A state with with one of the best political master planners in Nigeria as governor, with over 20 PDP assembly members, and high profile politicians supporting the party. For me, there is nothing new about APC to give it a leverage in the election. Timi Alaibe+ Heineken Lokpobiri+ Timipre Sylva among others still failed in 2015. In 2019, it's minus Timi Alaibe and the bitterly cheated former minister, Heineken Lokpobiri.
Am a bayelsan, PDP is bleeding out and dying a slow death. bad governance + bad candidate

This happens in every business. You have not gotten the eureka point. I think there is one big puzzle you are yet to crack, if you do, your business will take off and you will have the deep innermost conviction that you will make it. It happened to me. I spent close to two years to set up everything for my business then I lost interest because there was a puzzle about the business I couldn't solve. One day, why trying to run the process again, I made a mistake. That mistake turned out to be the solution to my big puzzle. That night I also died out of happiness.

I encourage you not to give up. You can also share your challenges let's brainstorm over it. That your business, I am interested.
Thanks man, am encouraged. One challenge I had was how to optimize my services. I want it to be tech driven. Not just a run of the mill delivery coy. I want real-time tracking of every delivery. I have ideas in my head is hard to go-to-market with in Africa without enough capital...
