Bro the monies (this is how we call it in the Public Sector) grin will accumulate if you work tirelessly. Imagine you work full time during hols as a student, lets assume monday to friday (for a minimum of 6 hours daily).

Pay: €10/hour minimum... (this depends on the company as well)

Lets calculate:
* Take 20 working days in a month which excludes weekends.
* 20days x 6hours daily = 120 hours in your holiday month..

Now how much are you going to pocket...?
**120 hours x €10 = €1200 in a month.

NB: This is the minimum amount (excluding tax) you can earn in a month from menial hustle e.g car wash, dishwashing, cleaning, unofficial sales job, transportation, taxi services, nanny duties etc. And you will earn more than that if you are able to work for longer hours and hustle is your second name.

If you can bargain well with your potential employer, menial jobs + internships + weekend jobs should give you around 3k plus. But you must be ready to kill yourself with work, work, work. And in few years, the Finnish Government will appoint you as the Minister of Works. cheesy cheesy

This is what Ibra is talking about. He is an IT employee, he also does part time jobs. Survival is key!

Trust me on this, there is no better country to move to other than English-speaking country if you are ambitious as a Nigerian. I will say also that IT guys are aslo getting better jobs in Europe after their studies. For me, life is not all about making bucks only but how I make it. Besides Ireland and UK in Europe, if you are not fluent in their native languages, life is gonna be tough. You can only understand when you are there.

About UK, please let us give them kudos. Do you know when they had been issueing post-study visas to Nigerian(and other NON EU CITIZENS) before things changed? They have tried my brother. Go to London and see for yourself how many Nigerians have established themselves there. Majority of them studied and graduated in UK before thier immigration law get stricter in 2014 or so. Talking about German tuition free system, do you know that Sweden and Finland have been doing it for many years but stopped it? Believe me, Germany can stop it as well at any time to regulate their migration.

If our country is good enough, this kind of thread may not be opened. Canada, Aussie that have different immigration programs right now can stop it at anytime and there is nothing we will do about it.

My brother, I am only here to help with information that people may lack. I will say that I got all your points but its sad that Nigeria is such in deep mess that we are looking for greener pasture anywhere these days.
Thanks for this.

The only positive thing about Portugal is that, it is part of EU and their residence permit/visa can be used to travel within Schegen zones. Its a dead zone in term of job opportunities. Comparing Portugal to Norway is like comparing Canada with Mexico.

Are you going for studies? If the answer is yes, the thing about Norway is that, it's difficult to stay there after your graduation because the immigration rule is that you must get related job in your study area before work permit can be given to you. Let me state that while studying and doing part time job(menial job) in Norway, I am pretty sure that you will save reasonable amount of money during this period.

To be Frank, in most of these countries, it's extremely difficult to get professional jobs without a very good ability to speak their languages. However, if you are into IT and know your onions, you stand a better chance.

NB: UK has started giving six-month post study visa.
At the bolded.. So sense has finally fallen on them. Whether they give 6months or 24 months post study visa,, prospective students won't forsake Germany, Finland, Estonia, Sweden, Norway... To me UK has lost it.. Before I gained admission into the University, I used to dream of living in the US/UK. I checked on some UK Universities online and saw their annoying rqts.. "Candidates must be willing to go back and develop their home country after their studies" and am like this is rubbish abeg...

The German Government introduced its zero tuition fee system for students from any Nationality and allow students stay as permanent immigrants with the knowledge that they will make good bucks outta the student either through taxes (for high earners), rents, transport fees, insurance etc and ensure that such student enjoy good quality of life... But UK did not reason like this. Now they wanna attract students. Mtcheew! Expensive country, high school fees etc with their unnecessary IELTS / TOEFL exams.. They just love to extort people.

How una dey? What´s on your mind? According to Facebook... grin Sha my own na I just became friends with a Finnish millionaire in this city...Ask me how? The man owns over a dozen apartment blocks in the Vaasa area, and I saw the man using a bulldozer to amend some parts of the road by himself! Omor I just started interviewing him and he answered me until he said my questions are now too much and he needs to go back to work grin well he gave me his card and we will have beer and go bike riding in the coming weeks smiley....What blows my mind about these people here are their simplistic nature and way of life...If na Naija millionaire.....lol undecided

Oya make we discuss this matter...! smiley
In those parts of Europe, the citizens there (including immigrants) believe they are free from harm's warm. If you research on countries with low crime rates, the non-English speaking countries are topping the table. In the black men continent, such freedom of life isn't allowed, in the sense that a group of NFAs (No Future Ambitions) on sighting an unguarded millionaire will act quickly by kidnapping him/her. This business dey boom wella for Naija like this. You can't buy a newspaper without it making the headlines... Kidnappers collecting millions of naira as ransome which makes them millionaires overnight... chaii,, and I ask myself this question, "Is it supposed to be like thishuh" cry

Based on what I read in recent times; articles written by the Finns themselves, one can mistakenly drop his/her wallet on a chair in the street and return the following day to find it. Not now that bad guys have started to show people that they have arrived. The insecured Finns don't wanna mingle with foreigners (both black & white, although most people call this racism) because they are preventing the unexpected. Yet they still feel safe.

America is not like this, one reason people are relocating to other countries is because of their gun law. How can someone be walking on the street with double barrel in his winter cloth. If the person drinks and gets drunk, he then shoots sporadically in the air thereby killing innocent people. Please that is not the kinda life an immigrant will want for himself and his family.

Personally I'd rather live in non English speaking countries like Germany, Finland, Sweden etc, take my time to learn the language, pay high taxes, have an insurance cover and be free to move around as I feel like regardless of the fact that I own a Bugatti or a Lamborghini.. Even if my salary after tax is low as long as I feel safe. Freedom of life is important.

My area for Lagos ehnn, if you see how I dey look left, look right and look left again before I comot from house ehnn. Most times I don't blame the big men for carrying ogbonge escorts. Their only problem is that they overdo it. This is because the country is not safe. People around can't be trusted either. Na only God dey keep person oo..

My advice to all:

Don't just apply, get admitted and then sit back. Research about the city you are going.

When you will arrive, how do you get to your destination?
Let's say you are going to Kassel and you arrive at Frankfurt airport, how do you get to kassel?? By trian or taxi abi u go trek?? grin

I also see a lot of people are not even thinking of where to live/stay when they arrive. smh..

Many are not even thinking of knowing some German words and sentences..

I see some people still asking for schools they will apply to..Lol. If you cannot search for a school and successfully apply, how do you expect to survive in Germanyhuh?
Some don't even know much about the course they applied to..if you are such, your name will be sorry when you arrive.

Some just want to run away from Nigerian by all means..lol..take it easy so you don't rush in and rush out. It has happened to many.
I know many already have it in their head to come impregnate oyibo or get pregnant for oyibo..lol..well, that will be discussion for another day.

Germany is a lovely nation and if you keep your ways straight, and use your head, you will go far.. kiss kiss

Over and Out cool

Oga Zlatan and my lovely people..I get some questions

Please how much wey person fit budget as proof of funds for Luxembourg?

And how possible e go dey for a Nigerian to get good student jobs for Luxembourg?
Bro let me drop some of the things I know about Luxembourg..

1. It is one of the most peaceful countries,

2. It is a relatively small country therefore there is less population.

3. It is expensive in all ramifications -- the cost of living is high, one bedroom apartments do cost around €1500 depending on the city. Transportation cost is high, even cost of wears (clothes etc) too are on the high side... Some Luxembourgers do go to Germany (by road) to do their shopping.

4. The official languages are French, German & Luxembourgish. Although English is widely spoken, you must be fluent in one of the native languages so you won't be held up in a tight corner grin

5. The country borders France, Belgium & Germany.

6. As at last year (2018), the population was about 600,000. I don't know about 2019 though..

7. The capital is the seat of the European Court of Justice (ECJ) which is the highest judicial organ in the European Union.

8. University of Luxembourg offers free tuition fee education to foreigners. That is what i can say about schooling there. I don't know about PR, student jobs and the rest..

9. It is also a Schengen country grin Free access with your visa from any Schengen country.

But despite the high cost of living, there are a lot of benefits one can derive from living in the country. The country is powerful too and popular in Europe.

NB: That Luxembourgish sounds German-like, more or less twisted Deutsch. Luxembourg has no consulate or embassy here in Nigeria but applications for a visa to Luxembourg can be made through the Belgian embassy in Abuja.

Conclusion: You have to take your time and give this your decision a re-think. I'd rather you choose Germany where there is a high volume of Nigerian students, you can easily work student job and you will be properly guided. Personally I feel Lux isn't a place to start life. Brother, carry out a proper research before you start anything oo.

This is all I know. T'wuld be hard to find students there through search engines. Check out Quora.

Exactly, Ghana must go contains more. I remember some years back I accompanied my sister to the airport. she had One big Ecolacc and two small ones, to avoid excess charge an airport official advised we get a big Ghana must go which we did. Since the weight of the two small Ecolac was more than 32kg we had to remove all the items and put inside the Ghana must go. Then I took the Ecolacc home, while she continued with her journey.

PS The allowed max weight per bag then was 32kg. We bought the Ghana must go 2500 which was like 5 times the normal price.

There's this black and white kind of Ghana must go which is much stronger. For those that want to travel with bag of garri and full container of Fufu kindly take note
Erny that B&W Ghana must go ehnn, it is mainly used by business people returning from Cotonou, Togo, Cameroon etc, filled with all kind of goods. E big ehnn and na around 4k now, maybe.....

Imagine say person carry that kind thing, airport officials go think say you put one member of your family inside. Lols grin grin

Who go wan travel with full container of fufu except Oga Gotzino?? hahahaha your last sentence is kinda funny!

@Gotzino come and read oo. What a good way to package your 17kg of garri.

You guys are wonderful jaree.. cheesy grin
