Ehizibue has been called up by the Dutch under 21. Since we are failing to give these guys a chance, it is probably best that they move on.
Do you know how many uncapped young players Nigeria has as at today?

Even if we form four Super Eagles Teams not all of them will still get that chance you are talking about.

How many matches have the Super Eagles played in the last 5-6 months? Or you expected us to have flooded the Team to play Egypt with uncapped players just to secure their nationalities. Look at the current squad in camp you will see that there are so many debutants already.

Besides, is he even better than the crop of young Right backs we have? Is he better than Shehu Abdullahi, Sincere Seth, Musa Mohammed, Moses Odubajo; some of whom have not even seen invitation to the Super Eagles. There are also Leon Balogun and Efe Ambrose who are the more established Right back options.

I dnt think Ehizubue can even make our U23 Team if given a fair chance.

Holland can have him play for their U21 if they want. He is still eligible to play for Nigeria in future if he improves on his game.

Balogun Eager To Defy Humid Kaduna Weather Against Egypt

By Johnny Edward:
Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun is wary of the humid weather in Kaduna when they confront the Pharoahs of Egypt in an African Nations Cup qualifier later this month, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

But the FSV Mainz versatile player was quick to add that he and is teammates will give everything to win the game billed for the Ahmadu Bello stadium on the 25th of March.

"The weather will be challenging in Kaduna, but I'm ready to adapt and give a good game," Balogun stated via thenff.comyoutube channel.

"I'm expecting two interesting games against. Egypt. We have to fight, run for our lives and also be disciplined tactically," he added.

While admitting beating Egypt will be tough over two legs, the Eagles star believes interim coach Samson Siasia has a plan in place to outwit his Egyptian counterpart Hector Cuper in the games.

"It's tough to say we will get six points against Egypt, but I'm confident it's possible."
"I also think the coach has a plan to win these games."
www.completesportsnigeria.com/balogun-eager-defy-humid-kaduna-weather-egypt/

I saw no reason Why Balogun was left out in the first place. After-all players like Alex Iwobi and Victor Moses didn't grow up playing football in Nigeria and they are in the team.
By not inviting Balogun for the Egypt clash would he also not have invited him for the World Cup qualifiers? If the weather was truly an issue this is even the best time to invite him so he can quickly acclimatize with the weather before the more important World Cup qualifiers kick-off.

Imagine initially selecting Chibuzor Okonkwo ahead of Leon Balogun.
Business › Why Oil Is Up 46% In 17 Trading Days by Icon4s(op): 8:15am On Mar 10, 2016
Intervention has been the common theme we've discussed for the better part of the past two months. And this week, that theme is heating up.

We've explained why oil at $30 has posed a threat to the global financial system and global economy. And we explained the parallels of the systemically threatening (current) oil price bust and the 2007-2008 housing bust. But we also noted the key differences, and why and how this "cheap oil" problem could be easily solved, unlike the housing bust.

The easy fix, as we've said is intervention. And as we've made this case, along the way, we've gotten signals that intervention was, indeed, coming.

The Bank of Japan and the European Central Bank stepped in a little more than a month ago and, at least verbally, implying that they could outright buy oil (threatening that there were "no limits" to what they could buy as part of their QE programs).

The seminal moment in the "oil bust crisis threat" was the day Chesapeake Energy, one of the largest producers of oil and natural gas, was reported to be exploring bankruptcy (Feb 8th). The rumor was immediately denied by the company. But it was that moment, we think, that policy makers realized that Chesapeake could be another Lehman moment for global markets and the global economy.

Days later, the Bank of Japan intervened in the currency markets. We argued last week that, given the timing and the coinciding bottom in oil, that the BOJ likely used the opportunity to buy oil (either directly or indirectly through ETFs, etc).

On Monday, just 17 days later, oil printed over $38. That's 46% higher than it traded the day the BOJ intervened in the currency markets.

Meanwhile, we've also argued that China could step in and be an outright buyer of oil, to stem the threat to the global financial system. They stepped in and bought oil (and a host of commodities) in 2009. Oil quickly doubled from $32, and went on to trade back to well over $100 again.

On Friday, Bloomberg said that China was in buying stocks in the Chinese stock market (i.e. intervention). And this past weekend the government laid out a growth roadmap that will ensure more aggressive stimulus (both fiscal and monetary). China has been a notable buyer of gold in recent months, and it's not likely a coincidence that key industrial metals that have been beaten down badly bottomed in the past few months and have been bouncing aggressively since. Iron ore, among them, rose by almost 20% yesterday, the biggest one day gain ever.

So we've seen sharp recoveries in key markets that give the appearance that perhaps intervention is already underway. Still, we have the European Central Bank meeting this coming Thursday. Draghi, the ECB chief, is almost obligated now to roll out bigger and bolder stimulus. And then the Bank of Japan will follow with their meeting a week from tomorrow. As we said last week, the market isn't expecting much from the BOJ, which sets up the opportunity for Kuroda (the BOJ chief) to surprise. These situations give their action more potency, which is precisely what they like.

Bottom line, the central banks have said all along that they stand ready to act. And in recent months, they've watched the continued collapse in oil prices take down stocks, which has taken down global confidence, and led to fears of another crisis and recession.

Of course, some will read this and think the world is now dependent on central banks and stimulus. The reality is, it is, sort of. It is to the extent that the world remains fragile and incapable of absorbing another major economic shock. The central banks are in the business now of promoting stability so that the bridge that they built (through trillions of dollars of commitments, bailouts and stimulus programs) can continue to provide the path to recovery for global economies. They can't afford to see it all derail. But that's not a signal to run.

Despite what most people think about central bank and government intervention, most of the significant turning points in markets and economies, looking back through history, come at the hands of some sort of intervention (whether it be a public or private policy action/ formal or verbal). As such, historically, the most painful times to buy stocks turns out to be the best time. That can be said for the oil and metals stocks in the past two weeks. Many have jumped 50% to a 100% and likely have a lot higher to go.

If you're looking for great ideas that have been vetted and bought by the world's best and richest investors, you can join us here.

Well, i expected his game to have more bite by now forget dat age thingz i beg. Needs to move into space with the ball, dribble easily or fake direction. But he his just doing one/two touch football. He has played with Sardauna babes fc of kano(national league) which also produced Musa Mohammed & Alhassan Ibrahim for the U17 at the time. He also played for El-kanemi warrior of Maiduguri & presently Kano Pillars fc. So its not about age o! Its only in Nigeria a player will be 18/19/20 but would v played for close to 4 premier league side. And on iheanacho, even Manu said he is not the quickest of player in possession. His thing is just finishing, and visionary pass. He his still so " left footed", with poor ball control.
Age is a big deal my brother. That is y a 23 yrs old is nt elligible to play with U17s & U20s.

Generally footballers get better as they progress from teenage into d 20s. They become more efficient, build more stamina, become more tactically matured and become more exposed and experienced. All these attributes put together makes a player better with age.

While most African players peak before 25-26, most European players peak as they tend towards 30.

The Ifeanyi Mathew that I saw at the CHAN was an improvement from d one I saw at d U20. He is getting better in my opinion. I cannot say for sure that he will make it to Rio bt i am of d opinion dat he plays d next U20. He would also still b elligible for d 2020 Olympics. smiley

UGWU UZOCHUKWU SCORES HATTRICK IN ISRAEL

https://i2.wp.com/owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/image-39.jpg?resize=168%2C168
Little known Nigerian forward Ugwu Uzochukwu grabbed the headline in Israel by scoring a treble for Hapoel Afula to help them beat Maccabi Kiryat Gan 5-2.

The 19 year old took the match ball home after after scoring in the 52nd,58th and 70th minute of the seven goals thriller that saw his team move up to 7th in the Leumit League in Israel which is the second division.

So far Uzochukwu has four goals from 9 league games a tally that has raise his stock in the country although a move away from Hapoel Afula according to reports gathered by owngoalnigeria.com looks unlikely at least for the next two seasons.

Last season he was at top division team Ironi kiryat Shmona but failed to score a single goal in the 11 games he played for the team a record which makes his present feat more impressive.

Matthew's game seems to have gone down a bit to me. the tenacity with which he played at the u17 & at the u20 is kind of no more. To me, i will prefer a combination of etebor, azubuike and nwobodo to him. The former guys will give u power, pace and defensive & attacking option while the latter will give you creativity and vision. Usman will be better off as a back up substitute for his power and vision. My grouse with Matthew is his big man pace and one/two touch football. Is too lay back.

Hmmm u got me really thinking here.

However, reason y I would not agree Ifeanyi Mathew's game has gone down is: the U17 and U20 u mention are not as competitive as the NPFL and CHAN he has jst taken part in. Mathew is jst 18yrs old. And for him to play the way he does at the NPFL and the way he did at the CHAN shows he has so much quality for a teenager. Has Iheanacho replicated the dominance he displayed at U17 at the EPL? No, bt that does nt mean his game level has gone down.

NIGERIA VS EGYPT: CHIKATARA YET TO ARRIVE EAGLES CAMP

https://i1.wp.com/owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/image-115.jpg?resize=179%2C300
17 of the 19 home based lad called up by coach Samson Siasia yesterday had their first training session but missing from the team was CHAN 2016 hero Chisom Chikatara of Abia Warriors.

As at last night the 22 year old who recently joined Morrocan side Wydad Casablanca was yet to arrive the Eagles camp alongside Oge Ogogatewho of Sunshine Stars.

However the reason behind his absence we were made to understand is known to the coach of the team hence he won’t face any sanction for coming late but same cannot be said about Oge.

Originally 22 players were called up to form the homebase players who will contest for a spot in the game against Egypt but the trio of Stanley Dimgba,Usman Mohammed and Segun Oduduwa were dropped to the U-23 for arriving the camp of the U-23 late

The team are presently training twice a day with the Nigeria U-23 team in Abuja who are presently in camp as well gearing up for their pre Olympic friendly against the host Brazil in Rio de Janeiro.

FANS OF WEST HAM VOTE AGAINST RETAINING EMMANUEL EMENIKE

https://i1.wp.com/owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/image-98.jpg?resize=300%2C300
Emmanuel Emenike is certainly not having the type of season fans of West Ham United thought he would have when he joined them on loan during the January transfer window.

The Nigerian who reportedly has a clause in his loan deal mandating West Ham to make his deal a permanent one if he makes 10 appearances started but was substituted in the team’s 2-3 win over Everton.

While there is still no clarification on the reported clause, fans of the team took to social media application twitter to air their opinion about the 28 year old Nigerian who has two goals for them all in the cup game against Blackburn Rovers.

In a twitter pool supervised by Claret And Blues 64% of the fans voted against his retention as they believe the team current stikers are better than the Nigerian.

Fanen Adi will definitely not start and may not even play, because to me, there are other strikers who are ahead of him in that department. His invitation will enable the Coaches to examine him properly through closer watch and will also help him understand how the team plays before handling him a sub role in our subsequent matches. However, there may be something about him or his game which the national team Coaches see which made them to extend invitation to him. Do not forget this same dude was assured of invitation by Stephen Keshi before he got sacked, same with Coach Sunday Oliseh.

Azubuike Okechukwu and Etebor oghenekaro are old faces to Siasia. He has worked with them, they have played for him at national level and so he knows their capabilities. As for Fenando Adi; nobody is saying Siasia should not invite any uncapped player at all, infact no coach will do that.

My opinion
Aaron Samuel debuted against Sudan( the weakest team in the group) during the 2015 AFCON qualifiers. He came in as a sub to replace Nosa Igeibor. He scored that 3-1 win in the return fixture in Kaduna which was his second game. The situation in those games is different from the situation in the Egypt games.
My point is it is dicey to throw in too many untested players into a big game. When I mean untested players I mean players like Sadiq Umar, Awaziem, Odubajo and the likes. I have been in this lovely game for so long to know that Club football is different from national team football more especially when you are facing an African opposition or playing on African soil.

To me any of players like Chikatara, Azubuike, Etebor can get a starting shirt or come in as a sub cos we have seen this guys play at national level, even though dey have nt played for the Super Eagles proper.

Change of coach and that's all.
Now let me tackle you from your point of view. Lets say Sadiq Umar is already a Super Eagles regular. Lets say he played at 2013 AFCON, 2O13 Confederations cup and 2014 WC. He performed creditably well in all of those tourneys and becomes a well established Senior National team player. He has been a regular with his Club for years.
A new coach comes to his club and Sadiq fell out of favour and hasn't been getting enough game time this season.
You have a crucial game to play will u now exclude Sadiq from the list of invited players on the grounds that he has not been playing regularly this season. A player u know his potential and what he is capable of at the national team level?

Aaron Samuel is not even suppose to smell the jersey not to talk of wearing it if we go by the performance of players in Europe. Victor Moses is a product of Siasia and so far i still support him.
Did you see Aaron Samuel play under coach Stephen Keshi at all?

I know most peeps here are not happy with the exclusion of so many "untested" players for the Egypt clash.
The exclusion of Awaziem, Success, Ndidi and a whole lot of other young players didn't come as a surprise to me.

There is a difference between a coach being given a mandate to transform/build a new team and being given a two match win mandate. We are all followers of Nigerian football, we know that given the caliber of players we have in the Super Eagles Nigeria can claim all 6pts from the 2 tie. What we just need is the right approach from both the players and the Technical crew. The Siasia led crew understand this which is majorly y they chose to go for tested players. This is not Nigeria vs Swaziland or Nigeria vs Sudan. This is Nigeria vs Egypt. No room for experiments here. After we qualify for the AFCON then we can start the rebuilding process by trying and testing some of these young players.

I expect the regular Super Eagles line up against Egypt with maybe jst one or two surprise inclusions in the starting line-up.

For the game in Kaduna I'll rather we start with a 4-4-2 formation with this set-up:

...........................Ikeme

Balogun/Abdullahi..Ambrose..Omeruo..Echiejile

................Azubuike

Siasia and his crew know d relevance of Ogenyi Onazi in that team. Ogenyi Onazi's experience cannot b overlooked. If it is strictly based on playing time many of d homebased players would b selected ahead of most of d foreign players

SIASIA DROP TWO FROM U-23 CAMP HAND CALL UP TO ENUGU RANGERS LAD

https://i1.wp.com/owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/image-35.jpg?resize=300%2C176
The technical crew of the U-23 National Team, Dream Team, has dropped both Chukwuebuka Iroha and Oluwaseun ‎ Olulayo for not measuring up to the standard expected of them in camp since resumption of training programme.

The crew said it was disappointed with the level of fitness displayed by the duo who were part of the team that triumphed at the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations in Senegal in December 2015, and warned that no player is guaranteed automatic shirt to the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

In a related development, Super Eagles’ Head Coach, Samson Siasia has directed that three players, namely Segun Oduduwa, Usman Mohammed and Stanley Dimgba should no longer report to the Super Eagles camp, as punishment for reporting late to the Dream Team camp without permission. Siasia stated that the affected players are no longer part of his plans for the Egypt game, so should concentrate on the friendly against Brazil with the Dream Team.

In a bid to beef up the Dream Team, the technical crew has extended an invitation to Rangers of Enugu player Obinna Nwobodo, who is expected to report to camp immediately with the other Rangers players on Monday.

Good call. Segun Oduduwa, Usman Mohammed and Stanley Dimgba to the U23 ASAP.

Obinna Nwobodo had an above average game on Saturday for Rangers. He showed flashes of brilliance and promise. I watched a large part of the game jst to assess him. He was a stand-out performer. Good he has been called up.

WENGER CONFIRMS IWOBI IS IN SQUAD TO FACE HULL CITY IN FA CUP REPLAY

https://i2.wp.com/owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/image-34.jpg?resize=300%2C169
Super Eagles teen forward Alex Iwobi will be in Arsenal’s squad for tomorrow’s FA Cup replay match against Hull City.

The first leg ended 0-0 with Iwobi starring for the gunners but the 19 year old has found games hard to come by following the return of top first team players from injury.

However after missing out on the last two match day squads Manager Arsene Wenger confirmed he is in contention for a spot in tomorrow’s game.

While reacting to the enforced absence of midfielder Francis Coquelin who was sent off against Tottenham Hotspurs in their English Premier League clash over the weekend, Wenger revealed it has opened the chance for Iwobi to come into the squad.

“We have lost Coquelin due to his bad tackle, we need to see how they recover and Alex Iwobi will now be added to the squad for tomorrow’s trip” Wenger confirmed at his pre match conference.

Iwobi has featured more in the FA Cup than in the League or the UEFA champions League but is still waiting for his first goal in competitive game for the senior team of Arsenal.

Yes, he should be in the squad but I prefer Ozil starts. No sleep-ups on this one Mr Wenger. Next EPL game is against WestBrom at home so no need to rest key players for that one.

Yes! He proved himself in the midst of average players that are daunted to play to his style football because they percept that he is a prime considerate when it comes to converting their chances.

In arsenal, the players are purported of not paying strict adherence the instructions of the coach!

You have a 'superb' player like Alexi Sanchez who is not very concerned about trying to get the ball to the striker to score. players like this are ranked as 'fabulous' and they what to maintain that fabulous status by scoring goals at the expense of passing the ball to the prime striker to score. At the end of the game, the prime strikers gets little or no chances to score. but as a prime striker in Watford, all other players plays to your favour because the have nothing to prove, unlike in arsenal were virtually every attacking player wants to score goals in other to prove himself, thereby, forebearing the prime striker as the main source of goals.

I watched Ighalo against Chelsea. it took him the latter phase of the game for him to be able to convert a chance amongst other copious chances he recorded against Chelsea, supposing he was playing for Arsenal at that time, I assume he would have been promptly substituted following his failure to convert formal chances.

Please, try to fathom my view. Arsenal's style of play may not be suitable for Ighalo.

Apologises for the deferred reply, I was later deprived of internet access yesterday.
I share similar opinion. Christian Benteke comes to mind. Villa was forced to play for the Prime striker Benteke. It worked. Benteke was their hit-man. He got to Liverpool and Rodgers initially tried to force Liverpool to play for him, Benteke (a style they are nt used to). It didn't work. Benteke was relegated to d bench u know the rest of the story for Liverpool this season.

Liverpool Rising Star Ovie Ejaria Suffers Heartbreak On Return To Emirates

https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/90725Ejaria.jpg
Arsenal have set up a meeting with Manchester City in the semifinals of the FA Youth Cup following their 2-1 win against Liverpool at Emirates Stadium on Friday night.

Though he is eligible to represent the Arsenal U18s, England U17 international Tolaji Bola did not make the team sheet.

As for Liverpool, former Golden Eaglets trainee Ovie Ejaria made the starting lineup while Holland youth international Bobby Adekanye, who has struggled with injuries this season, was not among the traveling party.

Ovie Ejaria was lively throughout the contest and had a good chance to give Liverpool the lead in the 14th minute but his shot in the 18-yard box went over the bar.

The Anglo-Nigerian spent close to seven years at Arsenal before he transferred to Liverpool in 2014.

Stephy Mavididi and Kaylen Hinds were on target for the Arsenal U18s while Masterson struck for the visitors.

Amuneke to drop Osimhen, Nwakali, Chukwueze

https://thenationonlineng.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Victor-Osimhen.jpg
Victor Osimhen

Recently appointed head coach of the Nigeria U-20, Emmanuel Amuneke won’t call up the trio of Victor Osimhen, Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze when he announces his first set of call up to the U-20 next week.

The Flying Eagles coach from scoop gathered by owngoalnigeria.com will leave out the trio to help them focus on their club careers after their recent transfers but might subsequently call them up in the future.

We gathered he will instead call up players from his last all conquering U-17 side who are still clubless to help keep them in shape before qualifiers for the next Africa youth championship begins later in the year.

Captain of Nigeria U-17 team to the last World Cup, Kelechi Nwakali has already penned a five-year deal with Arsenal while Chukwueze is expected to do same in the coming days.

Team’s topscorer, Osimhen is presently in Germany although not eligible to play for his new side, Wolfsburg he has been training with their B team but trains twice in a week with the main team of the Bundesliga side.

Good move. We don't need them in camp yet until the qualifiers proper kick-off. Let them focus on their club careers.
I am backing this set to do great things.
