Are u sure it is an easy grp? Japan and Canada I know are a force to reconed with in female foot. And Spain; rememeber dey knocked us out at d last female U17 WC.3-0 was dat score and i expect most of those girls to b in this their current U20.
olapluto: Like the people concerned really care about what you think.
Put yourself in their shoes: Your father or Uncle is highly influential. U go through school and even graduate with good grades.
And your father simply puts a call to the GMD of NNPC say "Kachukwu, my son has just completed NYSC can u do me this favor of fixing him into one of the NNPC subsidiaries"
What will you say? Daddy no need for that. Let me hustle like my mates on the street. Abi?
See let me tell you. Where I am today is due to God's Grace and personal effort. Nobody's assistance. But if I need to fix my son, daughter or Niece/Nephew I will nt hesitate to do that.
We then went to the world cup with average players.
If our football house was not so messed up and notorious in owing salaries, he would have made a good addition to one of the youth teams. I doubt he will want anything to do with the NFF though.
Exactly my point. He seems aggrieved. I loved Finidi die those days. He was at one point the best Right winger in Europe. He was with Ajax then with Nwankwo Kanu. Simultaneously then Amuneke was in Barca and was adjudged to be the best Left footed player in the World! Oh Glory days of Nigerian football. But see where we are today
tbaba1234: Just found out that the great Findi George is the under 19 coach of PEC Zwolle.
A great link to get Ehizibue to play for Nigeria.
Finidi George. I just feel he has not forgiven the Nigerian Football fraternity.
His younger brother, Igineware George - a former youth international, was killed by Irate 3SC fans in Ibadan after a game.
"Who killed Igineware George?" was the question on the lips of Nigerians then. Till date no one knows who killed Igineware George. The NFA then didn't press enough on the investigation of Igineware's death. The Police swept the case under the carpet.
In 2002 Finidi alongside Sunday Oliseh and some others were disgracefully suspended from the Super Eagles after finishing 3rd at the AFCON. A team that lost 2-1 AET to Senegal in the semis. Senegal finished the game with 10 men plus Oruma lost a penalty in the second half of Extra-Time. NFF and Nigerians called for the head of the Senior Players in the Team. Oliseh and Finidi were axed.
That was abt the last time Finidi George was in the News.
I hope, just like Oliseh, he has moved-on and put behind that incident.
forgiveness: Really! But i was not joking about it. I try to find that article.
Yeah, Martins had to come out open to declare his nationality as a Nigerian. Those of us that knew Martins right from the hood and knew also that Obafemi is a Yoruba name knew he was definitely a Nigerian. So Immediately I saw that "Onomah". I jst knew he is Nigerian.
Orkpekyandega: [b] A look at how alleged Tottenham player Musa Yahaya is faring on loan Vincent Ralph @VincentRalph1
The young Nigerian is said to be a Tottenham Hotspurplayer but he is currently on loan in Portugal.
According to a recent interview given by the agent of Musa Yahayato All Nigeria Soccer, the 18-year-old is officially a Tottenham Hotspur player despite the fact that no announcement has yet been made by the North London club.
Agent Babawo Mohammed is quoted as saying that while Tottenham now officially own the player they want him to spend time on loan while he waits for his work permit.
There has still been no official word from Spurson the matter, but assuming that is indeed the case – which it could well be given the player’s nationality and his lack of first-team football thus far – Tottenham fans may suddenly be keeping a close eye on Portuguese second division club Portimonense.
That is where Yahaya is currently on loan, so how is the attacking midfielder getting on?
As would be expected for one so young he is being bedded in slowly, watching matches against Gil Vicente and Covilha as an unused substitute before making his debut in a 1-0 victory against Farense.
Yahaya went one better the following match, building on that 45-minute appearance to play the whole match against Braga B, although it was a game to forget as his side crashed to a 5-1 defeat.
The alleged Tottenham youngster was not in the squad for the next game against Santa Clara before he returned to the squad, coming off the bench for the final 35 minutes in a 1-0 win against Oriental.
Yet to score or assist, it will be all about building up his match fitness and getting used to playing regular first-team football this season; and how quickly he does that could determine how soon he heads to White Hart Lane.
I am not too pleased about Musa Yahaya's career development. Going by how he exploded at the U17 WC he should by now be playing in same league as the likes of Iheanacho, Success and Iwobi. He jst clocked 18 last December and then jst signed a professional contract and I think that greatly affected him bc he had to endure a long wait even staying at home for over 5months jst playing football on the streets.
He needs to get his game moving. Spurs is a very competitive side and he needs to be in a Flying form for him to be considered for their next season's pre-season's tour.
He will be vital to our next FIFA U20 campaign. I wish him an accelerated progress. TheGoodJoe I need your view on this Yahaya's case.
forgiveness: I thought Onomah is a Ghanaian. Anyway, both of them can only play for the U23 and the National team because they have been capped at the under age teams.
However, they should not be ignored.
Onomah is an Igbo name. Let him continue with his development. We may get him if we need to.
So forgiveness do you think all our best talents are in Europe. If Babawo Mohammed did not organize this match, the scouts will not know him. There are loads of talents in our grassroots.
tbaba1234: Another Siasia, invitee Ovbokha Agboyi, Defensive midfielder for FK Elbasani in Albania
Not impressed by the video, i think we already have better players at defensive midfield (Onazi, Azubuike, Ndidi) [b]but let's see if he can make an impression on the coaches.
NLban: [b] 'Eagles will score plenty goals against Egypt' By Joshua Odeyemi Super Eagle''s Ahmed Musa
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will score plenty of goals when they confront the Pharaohs of Egypt in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match in Kaduna on Friday next week, forward Aaron Samuel has assured.
The striker who spoke with thenff.com on Wednesday, said getting the goals would not be a problem for the Eagles when they clash with their opponents in Kaduna.
The big striker, who plays for CSKA Moscow FC in Russia’s elite division alongside Captain Ahmed Musa, has been included in the list of 21 overseas –based professionals called by Coach Samson Siasia for the double dose against the Pharaohs.
“Goals will not be a problem when we take to the pitch in Kaduna. We have more and bigger stars than the Egyptians.
“There is nothing to fret about. I have heard what the Egyptians are saying, that we would not be able to score in Kaduna. That is mere wishful thinking on their part.
"They are trying to play a psychological game. The goals will surely flow from our boots into their net,” he assured.
Samuel, who previously played in China, scored two brilliant goals for the Super Eagles in the 2015 Cup of Nations qualifying race – against Sudan in Abuja and against Congo in Pointe Noir.
“Our objective would be to be precise, to convert the chances that we create. We will win and win well," he noted.
forgiveness: Dem wan kill me today. but i no go die.
You no go die my Brother. U know... to defend an argument here on this thread u need a big heart.
I dnt think u and I have ever been on d same side of any argument. It is good having pple like u around so there would always b one controversy or the other to discuss
Sir Forgiveness, I think you need to apologise to this honorable house for putting Uche Henry Agbo on the list of players that would sit on d bench in Rio.
forgiveness: What happened to Ronaldinho when Guardiola came to Barcelona?
So, why was Mata loaned out after one and the half season? If na Chelsea, hehehe! I dey follow dem wella. So, no go there. Mata didn't have enough game time under Mourinho and he was not wanted hence the loan move.
Abdul Ajagun had played 12 league matches before he left on loan. He even played some matches under the new coach but not as a starter. The club wanted him to play regularly hence the loan move. Since, he came to the new club he starts the matches and he helped them to climb up the league. The last match he didn't start, they were thrashed 3 goals to nil.
I am not saying he is better than those players. All i am saying is that he is can play in any position in the midfield.
forgiveness: Ask what Chelsea did to Mata even after he was their best player. Then you will know what i am talking about.
Abegi forget that Mata Matter. Mourinho was with him for one season and half before loaning him. But in this case Andrea Stramaccioni, the new Panathinaikos Coch had barely spent up to 2 months before loaning Ajagun.
Don't make it seem as if I have something against Ajagun. I dnt. Infact I have always included him on the list of players Siasia should invite for selection. However, I have never stuck my head out to say he is better than Iheanacho, Iwobi and Etebor. What I am against is the basis on which you are rating him higher than the other AM options.
forgiveness: There is nothing like mediocre here. The boy had played for Panathinaikos-fc ( the 20 times Champions of Greece) for 3 good seasons and even single handedly helped them to place second on the league twice and won the Greece Cup once before he was sent on loan at the middle of this season. And as soon as he got to the new club, he was giving the number 10 role. Oh! Remember, it was the Greece Champions that eliminated the Champions of England, Manchester United.
...and yet a New coach counts him as a surplus requirement?
On 29 January 2015, Panathinaikos announced that 23-year-old Nigerian midfielder Abdul Ajagun will continue his career at Levadiakos on loan until the end of season. Ajagun was not in manager's Andrea Stramaccioni plans and his departure will free a foreigner's position, in order for the Greens to complete Lucas Villafanez and Rodrigo Moledo's transfers.
Source: wikipedia
Forgiveness may not b aware of this development. He just wants Ajagun to be in that Olympic team for reasons best known to him
forgiveness: Bros, Game time and league matters. We are talking about Nigerian league here, we are talking about the best league in the world.
Agbo might not likely make the bench because he will be too good for Arsenal bench. You should have said Iwobi might not likely make Granada bench.
And as long as Agbo has faced the best clubs and players in the world. He should be considered. Afterall, Barcelona thrashed the same Arsenal your are talking about.
So, you know he played in the UEFA Champions League, why do you want to know? Who can play in that competition if not the best.
However, i have not seen Abdul Ajagun played recently but i read reports about him. Please, don't tell me you have seen all the players you clamoured for.
forgiveness: Agbo na our own na, so Spain can't cap him. The truth is if you are good you will be playing in Europe. That's all.
I dnt completely agree with the bolded. At youth/Development stage the disparity between players in Europe and home does nt count for much. For eg Ifeanyi Mathew and Obinna Nwobodo, though still locally based can compete well with most of the Europe based midfielders of their age.
Also Sincere Seth, though locally based, is to me the first choice Right back for the U23 Team ahead of Musa Mohammed, Odubajo, Ehizibue and others.
U also saw the capability of Oghenekaro Etebor at CAF U23 even though he was home based.
forgiveness: I wanted to correct it but my internet service didn't permit me.
You said Agbo is not playing regularly for Granada but statistics shows that he has more game time than Iwobi. How many league matches did Iwobi played this season? 5 but he was only played for 45 minutes in all those matches while Agbo had played 6 league matches and had seen 255 minutes of game time. Oh! Iwobi played in the FA Cup, likewise Agbo played in Copa dey.... So how did Iwobi take enter ya list Sir?
Do you have Ajagun played in UEFA Champions League qualifying round this season before they were Knockout of the tournament.
Before i answer your questions pls answer me. Where did watch Kingsley Madu before he was invited to the Super Eagles camp? The point is let them be all called and that's all.
Comparing Agbo with Iwobi: If Agbo was in Arsenal he would nt even make the bench. If it is based on game time, then a player like Ifeanyi Mathew would be far far ahead of Agbo and Iwobi plus Iheanacho. It is nt just only abt game time but also quality of the Team. Isaac Success that plays week in week out for Granada would hardly make the bench at Arsenal.
Yes Ajagun's team played UEFA Champions league qualifying rounds, but did you watch him play? Do you watch the Greek League games live?
And to your last sentence they can not all be called because the national Team is not for every d!ck and Harry. Besides, we cannot accommodate over 1000 players in camp and there is no time for that.
Only the best should be called. We dnt need to invite all Nigerian players home and abroad to select a Team of 18 players. The coaches know most of those that will be invited already. We as keen observers know most of them too.
Because he plays seldomly in that position for his Club. Ajagun is a natural midfielder, he can anywhere in the midfield when we decide to change tactics while i see Kelechi Iheanacho plays as a striker or supporting striker. I think Ajagun can hold unto the better than Kelechi and i think Ajagun is more matured than him. However, we also have to consider the formation. I have only seen Iwobi played for Nigeria on the wing and it has been long i watched Arsenal-fc matches. So, i don't really no much about him.
His name is Uche Agbo and not Ugbo. He played at the 2013 FIFA U20 WC alongside Ajagun, Madu, Ndidi and co. He is not even a regular for Granada. He had been with Granada even before playing at that U20 of which he was nt even a starter. I consider his career development as slow. He would not make my Olympic team squad list.
Did you roll out those attributes of Ajagun based on his performance at U20 or you have been following him at his Greek Club? Where do you watch the Greek league? Youtube highlights mayb which may jst be 2-5mins videos. The Ajagun that I know is the Ajagun of 2013 FIFA U20 WC. Ever since I have only watched 1 or 2 highlights of him scoring for his Club. I am a Fan of the EPL so I watch Iheanacho and Iwobi almost every week. I have come to understand the capabilities of those 2 players and how best to maximize their potentials.
I dnt know Ajagun's current game level so I cannot stick my neck out and say anything for him. Let Siasia invite him to the U23 Camp for him to prove his worth.
Awoniyi is on a season long loan to German second division side FSV Frankfurt since joining Liverpool in the summer despite interest from other top clubs following his fine showing for the U-20 and 23 team of Nigeria.
The 18 year old has forced his way into the starting line up at German side FSV Frankfurt where he has played in their last four games but still waiting for his first goal for the struggling second division team.
However his fine form is yet to get the attention of the decision makers at Liverpool as he is yet to be officially communicated if he will be recalled at the end of the season to join them in their pre season tour.
forgiveness: Hmm! This is how my recent starting 11 will look like.
gk. Daniel Lb. Kingsley Madu Cb. Kenneth Omerue Cb. Leon Balogun Rb. Moses Odubanjo Dm. Ndidi Cm. Ogenyi-onazi Am. Abdul Ajagun Rw. Moses Simon Lw. Ezekiel Imoh Fw. Ighalo
@ bolded, who is he? Never seen that name. Give me reasons why you would prefer Abdul Ajagun over Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi in the AM role.
Not saying Ajagun is not good enough, jst that I have not seen him play recently. I only still rate him based on his exploits at the 2013 FIFA U20 WC.So I dnt know how his current club form is cos as u know he is hardly in the news.
