Petrobros: Hahahaha which Kwambe played against Swaziland?
See the full list of players that prosecuted the 2 legs against Swaziland:
THE FULL LIST Goalkeepers: Carl Ikeme (Wolverhampton Wanderers, England); Ikechukwu Ezenwa (Sunshine Stars); Dele Alampasu (Club de Sportivo Feirense, Portugal)
BascoVanVeli: No, Leon is the only option in that regards or do u forget that Efe was horrible at right back. Musa is the total package right now he is our best set piece taker and don't forget gis crosses are to die for. He is also familiar with Iheanacho who should play 10 .
Efe was horrible at right back?
Do u know Efe started as a centre back for the Super Eagles during Siasia's first tenure and was converted to right back by Keshi when we lacked a quality Right back.
Efe Ambrose has been adjudged by numerous sports analyst to be among the best Nigerian players that have ever played that Right back.
Musa Mohammed our best set-piece taker? Has he even played for the national team that you conclude he is our best set-piece taker? I know you are making reference to his performance at U17 level. Has he been taking those set-pieces at his club?
BascoVanVeli: Nope he implied being a genius and tryed to show out. Kwambe played against Swaziland and that was not years back. I feel Leon and Kwambe should be left at central back that was to me one of the few good things Oliseh did. Shehu is the only option as of now but he doesn't dazzle.
U prefer Kwambe ahead of Omeruo at Centre back? Why?
Efe Ambrose did creditably well in the last 2 matches he was featured as Centre back. Efe is a natural Centre back.
U can see we are easily discussing our Right and centre back options. This negates your first assertion that Musa Mohammed is our best right back option.
Don't get me wrong on these youngsters. When a player is good I say a player is good, when a player is talented I say a player is talented but When I feel a player is not ripe our not a best option for a particular position or *is not there yet* I also say so. Musa Mohammed should keep working hard. His time is coming. Looking at the available options we have as right backs Musa Mohammed would have to up his game to displace them.
BascoVanVeli: It was 1965 and they were called the green eagles, fun times.
I think what he actually implied is since after Solomon Kwambe was experimented at Right back years back, Efe Ambrose, Leon Balogun and recently Shehu Abdulahi have been played in that position. So we do not lack right back options.
BascoVanVeli: Efe and Leon have played central back lately and Shehu to me was not that impressive.
Efe or Balogun plays Right back and one of them joins Omeruo at centre back. It is as simple as that. We dnt have problems selecting our defenders. Where I think the challenge lies most is the central attacking midfielder (number 10).
TheGoodJoe: If he outperforms our other defenders in training, then he deserves the starting line up. That is one of the mistakes coaches make. Most times, the talented ones progress the teams and the experienced ones pull the team back.
If he is good enough, Awaziem is old enough to start.
You should also know that training conditions are usually different from match day conditions. A coach will naturally want to start with a centre back pair the team has been used to especially in a very crutial game.
U know how long it took for the FC Porto coaches to feature Awaziem in a position as critical as the centre back. He started with a Cup game against a very weak opposition.
The defensive job is nt all abt which player out shines on the training ground. It is abt Organisation and co-ordination, and ability of each player to cover for each other.
We are all coaches in our own different ways. Bt if I am d Super Eagles coach, a centre back pairing of Omeruo and Ambrose/Balogun will do d job for me.
Let's even talk abt Awaziem's chances of being called up first.
TheGoodJoe: I think Awaziem is good enough for the Super Eagles, talkless of the Olympics. Defending for Porto is a big deal and that tells a lot of the talent of the young man.
Coach Siasia should invite him to camp and see if he is good enough to blend with the team.
Remember Coach Keshi and a young teenage Omeruo. The young man did not take time to blend and he displaced one of the longest serving defenders and the Captain of the Super Eagles.
Yes bt Omeruo was nt labeled "best option" until he played a couple of matches. That is jst my point.
Awaziem, if called up should prove to us he is d best option at centre back. Nt before he makes his international debute.
U can for now only say he has d potential of becoming a best centre back option and nt that he is already our best centre back option even without any invitation yet.
The Olympics in my opinion would b a good testing ground for him.
tbaba1234: Awaziem commands a starting position in the heart of defense which is the most risky place to start a youngster for a regular champions league team. It is not the same with Iheanacho, Iwobi or Umar. Iheanacho based on his form is also good enough for the super eagles but Ighalo is the most prolific striker right now.
It is one thing to be good enough and another to be thrown into a competitive game on your debut. You need to get used to your teammates and style of play but based on current form and regular game time, Nigeria's back four should be:
Ehizibue Balogun Awaziem Uwa
Young, pacy and would get better playing together.
I am not saying the next game but invite them, see how they do in training and gradually ease them in.
I am nt saying they should nt b invited. Remember d discusion is on " best options" for the defense.
In as much as we all want to see a transition of some of these young players into d Super Eagles throwing them in all at once would only spell doom for d team and players. Remember Nigerians are nt patient pple.
My argument is Awaziem deserves a call up to d Super Eagles. However i will nt consider him a best centre back option for d Super Eagles yet. U cannot label a player hu has nt made a debute as best option especially in a central defensive role.
He can only b introduced into d frame of things and watch how he adopts and grows. subsequently we would know if he is d best option in that Centre Back.
I am nt dwarfing his achievement as a young player. He is still comming up. However, my pt is a young player that has never tasted senior international action can never b a best option. Same goes for Mohamed and Ehizibue.
tbaba1234: If Awaziem can make the first team of FC Porto and picks a regular starting place, he is good enough to make the Super Eagles, forget the under 23s.. It is not as if our super eagles are that great.
Coaches invite players that are on form and playing regularly.
When you invite them, then you can see how they can fit into a system. But accessing who is the best option available is by looking at what they are doing.
He starts for Porto good for him. But remember Iheanacho, Iwobi and Sadiq Umar have started a couple of games for City, Arsenal & Roma respectively yet they are nt yet being considered d best options for d Super Eagles.
Playing for d national team is quite different from playing for club.
In the game against Egypt if u were d coach u'll start Awaziem at Centre back and Ehizibue at right back?
It is nt out of place Rating d likes of Mohammed, Odubanjo, Ehizibue and Awoziem against other U23 Players like Madu,Amuzie, Omeruo, Troost-Ekong, Seth & Shehu Abdullahi. If the former mentioned Players would find it difficult displacing d later mentioned players then what are we talking abt?
My view is this bunch of players are promising and talented bt i cannot consider them as d best options for which ever position dey play.
Below is my best option for d Super Eagles defense for our next 2 games:
Balogun..Ambrose..Omeruo..Madu/Echiejile.
Ambrose and Balogun may switch positions in another option of set-up. I dnt believe Awaziem is yet a best option from amongst d centre backs we have in d team. Awaziem can b sent an invitation bt i dnt expect him to play a major role in d Egypt game even if invited.
tbaba1234: Of course, but based on the performances in Europe, these are the best options. How they will fit into the team is another issue and it is not down to just talent. It depends on how they are used and how quickly they settle into the team.
An untested player cannot b a best option yet.
I am nt even sure all those guys u peeps have been mentioning can even make d U23 team starting 11 if invited.(Awaziem, Mohammed, Odubanjo, Ehizibue)
tbaba1234: Right now, he is probably the best option based on who is playing well and regularly at a decent level. I have seen a bit of him and he is very good. I think the best right backs in Europe based on regular game time and quality are Ehizibue and Odubajo
You cannot say an uncapped player is the best Right back for the Super Eagles. A player that is not tested?
U can only wish for the Super Eagles coaches to invite him to d national team and see how he (d player) fits in. He being d best option would b determined by his performance after a series of matches.
The Youngsters u guys jst mentioned, includiing Awaziem, may b our future prospects bt i dnt think they are currently our best defense options yet.
tbaba1234: He is not the best option... Ehizibue plays regularly at right back for PEC Zwolle in the Dutch top division.
So this one too is our best Super Eagles Right back?
See, u cannot say any player is d best for a particular position until that player is capped and plays a couple of competitive games.
U guys talk as though we have no defenders at all in d Super Eagles that u'll mention untested players and claim they are d best options.
Jst recently here also there were talks of Awaziem and Balogun being d best Centre Back pairing. Awaziem makes 2nd or 3rd start for Porto FC and all of a sudden becomes our best centre back partner with Balogun.
BascoVanVeli: I don't think we have to wait for Musa Mohamed to become a regular in his club, cuz from wat i can see he is our best option for both super eagles and u-23.
mufutau55: You probably did not read it well... below is a quote from first page about 6th message down... read everything... You can learn plenty from that thread.. for all that is included in that cost.
"The cost of getting such is 4,024,630 naira only(four million and twenty-four thousand, six hundred and thirty naira only) from the SUBSTRUCTURE TO THE HANDOVER".
Hajji M.
4million, 24 thousand, 630naira. U Should have kukuma put kobo values na. How can u be so precise with a figure? U have not even seen his drawing. You have nt seen the soil or topography. You dnt even know how tastefully he wants to finish it.
I have learnt not to believe the prices most of you quote here for construction of houses bc they are mostly not workable.
tbaba1234: Nigeria has a potential golden generation coming up but i worry NFF will ruin it with the super eagles management.
Don't even go as far as the NFF, enomakos here is even saying Siasia is going to Rio with "his boys". This will mean most of the players that we have been tipping to be part of the golden generation will nt be in Rio and that will definitely derail the much expected transition into the anticipated Golden Generation.
In as much as I know such things happen and also that enomakos is jst saying it as his own opinion or view, the fact is coaches do that.
I would only wish for Siasia to go for our best legs.
enomakos: yes siasia already have his team, forget about all the new players he invited,80% of the player that take part in the all africa game and senegal will make it to the Olympics
Then I can categorically state that he would be doing Nigerians a great disservice if he goes with 80% of that squad.
Draw a starting 11 of Nigerian U23s doing well all over the world and u'll see that virtually none (except the goalie) of those CAF U23 would make the list.
I dnt believe Siasia would do this. I believe he would select the best for us irrespective of whether they are "his boys" or not.
tommykiwi: My friend even as am not in support of Apc dis have notin to do with change. because supposes they reached their destination with those gallon of fuel they would av made enuf cash..well RIP to the dead.
It has to do with APC because the APC Government is responsible for the scarcity of Fuel currently being experienced in the country. If the supply of PMS was adequate, these touts wouldn't be carrying fuel all about to sell.

The service which will be in conjunction with his former U-17 Golden Eaglets teammate, Chukwudi Ogor, will hold at St. Mark's Anglican Church, Eziobodo, near Owerri, Imo State.
"After signing the Arsenal contract, Kelechi decided it was important to show appreciation to God for what He has done and will continue to do in his career," an official of ASJ Football Academy, where Kelechi Nwakali was loaned to by Diamond Football Academy, Umuahia confirmed to Completesportsnigeria.com.
Nwakali signed a four-year deal with the North London side, but Ogor has been strongly linked with a move to Anderlecht of Belgium or Wolfsburg of Germany who also snapped 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup 10-goal scorer, Victor Osimhen after the tournament in Chile.
The Golden Eaglets' captain was adjudged the Most Valuable Player, MVP, of the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup finals in Chile.
joseph1013: One of the great things I love about our threads and the people who make it bubble is that we give no attention to derailing adverts by football sites looking for traffic and gamblers. I'm amused that someone could go to the length of quoting a valid post just to elicit attention. I'm confident that such a one would not be given the acknowledgment he desperately seeks.
Great job, guys.
I, for one, don't want the old guys back. Let's move ahead. Thank you, Enyeama. Thank you, Emenike. Nobody forced them to retire. Let no one call them back. We have alot of people that can fill in for them.
I have been particularly impressed with Awazien. A player like that broke into a solid team for Porto and no one seem to be talking about him. It's a big deal! Not just because he broke in but because he broke in as a defender. A 19-year old playing first team football for the Portuguese champions? Battling with such seasoned internationals like Bruno Indi of Holland, Miguel Layún of Mexico, Maxi Pereira of Uruguay as well as having the vastly experienced Iker Casillas barking out instructions from the goal post. I'm very impressed.

forgiveness: When we talk about players playing regularly in that position. Rabiu Ibrahim is no 1 followed by Abdul Ajagun, John Chibuke and Raheem Lawal. I am not talking about players who starts from the bench. You said Raheem Lawal didn't impress, well, i think we should take a look at him again under Siasia.
Sone Aluko is good but the guy needs to change his mentality. I mean he should find a good club.
If it is stricktly based on game time then even players of Kwara United and Abia Warriors dat play regular football should b rated ahead of d Europe based players that dnt get regular game time abi?
forgiveness: Rabiu Ibrahim for sure. He plays regularly on that wing for his club. Other players are Abdul Ajagun, John Chibuke and Raheem Lawal. Sone Aluko is a natural winger and that's all.
Abdul Ajagun, I can for now recommend for the U23. I cannot beat my chest for now to tell whether Ajagun is better than Iheanacho, Iwobi and Etebor. Let all 4 players go slug it out at the U23 camp. Raheem Lawal did nt impress under Keshi. He is nt a stand out player. I doubt he can deliver d goods. As for John Chibuike, i am nt in d habit of rating a player i dnt know so well. I have no bases to say whether he is better than Aluko or nt.
On Aluko only being a natural winger. Yes he is bt he also plays from d centre. In d last rnd of English FA cup matches u saw where he was slotted when he came in as a sub for Hull City against Arsenal? He went to play behind d main striker.
