my choice 3 over aged players for the Olympics will be ambrose for defense onazi for midfield and obagoal for attack.
I didn't add Carl ikeme cuz I feel the Olympic keeper deserves his spot and choosing obagoal ahead of ighalo is because he is more experienced and defenders at this stage could be vulnerable.
but again I feel if success the beast is released for rio den our strike wouldn't need an over aged player then the slot should be given to a defender say omeruo/oboabona/balogun having 2 over aged defenders will give us peace of mind as the defense was d worst part of the team in the previous tournament.
Well, I agree with u that if Success is in dat team then we dnt need an experienced striker.

If we must get an experienced striker then it should b Ighalo to me. He still has more years in d Super Eagles. He is in a better form than Martins and may jst b our main striker for Russia 2018.

Omeruo is U23.

Yes, we need Onazi because we are building future Super Eagles but I don't think we need Ambrose. He's not exceptional at all to deserve a place in that team.

Apparently, we need at least one experience striker and a defender. That's my take on this issue.
So which experienced defender would u recommend?

You might be correct... it falls between 2030 - 2035. Bible prophecies have to be fulfilled before the Second coming of CHRIST but the Rapture is imminent, it can happen at anytime. The time is short.. The end of age is very near, maximum is in the next 15 yrs. American scientists are running helter skelter about the EMP blast that might hit the earth in 2022 & end human civilization. And also Ukrainian scientists have envisioned an Asteroid that will hit the earth in 2032, they said its effect will be 5 times the effect of Nuclear bomb. These people are not Christians but they have seen it. What they dont know is that these are all the prophecies that were mentioned in the book of revelation that will come upon the earth during the great tribulation.
I have never heard of any imminent EMP blast predicted at 2022 & Ukrainean scientist saying an asteroid will hit d earth in 2032. There would b such information and some1 like me wont know abt. Pure lies! Ypu people keep predicting d second coming of Christ and each time God shows u he is d only all knowing. Rapture can even take place before that ur 2030-35.

Nigerian youngster Ademola Lookman has been watched by Manchester City among several other EPL clubs

Manchester City have sent scouts to run the rule over Nigerian youngster Ademola Lookman following his impressive displays for English Championship side Charlton Athletic.

The young forward has also been watched by Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the season.

Manchester City have now sent scouts to watch the 18-year-old Lookman.

The teenage striker only made his debut in early November, but has already scored three goals, including two in Charlton’s 2-2 draw with Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday night.

Lookman has two-and-a-half years left on his contract with Charlton, who are not keen to let him go, but a tempting offer from City may force the Championship club to let him go.

Manchester City already have a Nigeria youngster Kelechi Iheanacho in their fold.

I wish City can give this kid a little more time to mature in his game at Charlton where he is sure of plenty of game time. No vacancy for another young Nigerian in dat City attack for now. He needs game time at this age and nt bench warming.

Another rival to Osimhen and Awoniyi in d next U20 team.

Exactly. Certain sects of Islam, such as Wahhabism(Sunni) , include as kafir those Muslims who follow Shia teachings about Islam. Similarly, in Africa, certain sects of Islam such as Armadiyya and Yorubas Muslims have been repeatedly declared as Kufir or infidels by other sects of Muslims.
... declared as infidels simply bc they are non-violent.

In my work place for instance a Yoruba muslim is nt allowed to lead prayers where there are also Hausa worshippers. Is that nt religious slavery and oppression?

You are right. In this set up, he would be a senior player unlike when he is playing with the likes of Mikel, Yobo, Enyeama and co. He will definitely be an asset to the team. If he can bring that discipline to his game and shield the defense, I see the team's midfield becoming stronger.

Onazi's strengths outweighs his weaknesses. He was another key man in the resurgence if the Super Eagles and has loads of experience for a young player.
Perfecto!

I agree with you, especially with Ambrose. My concern about Ambrose was the Celtics against Barca that Neymar made him look immobile.

If not, Ambrose is the best defender that can suit Coach Siasia's pattern. I do not understand how injury made Oboabona drop in form. That guy was a beast for us in the early time of Coach Keshi. He was fast and good with the ball.

My problem with Onazi is just that he does not like to sit back and shield the defence. That is the only problem. Apart from that, that boy is a work horse. His marking is excellent. He can track a running midfielder like he did against Matuidi.

If Coach Siasia calls him, he has to let Onazi know that there is a reason why the word defensive comes first in defensive midfielder.
Lol @ Neymer making Ambrose look Immobile. But u know u dnt get to face a player in d mode of Neymer all d time. I think Ambrose still has it in him. U can see from his last 2 or 3 Super Eagles performance.

I understand those Onazi's weaknesses u highlighted bt d thing is I dnt see any present U23 DMF dat can bring to d table what Onazi brings. Besides, Onazi will b 24yrs next yr and we are building a future Super Eagles team. It makes logical sense to build d team along with him cos dey beling to same generation. Recall Onazi played U17 along with Omeruo, Olaitan, Umar, Ajagun and co hu are still U23.
Sports › Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by Icon4s(m): 2:50pm On Dec 19, 2015
Well, all these Mikel argument by all parties involved is still all abt whether he should b included in the Olympic team right? My take on the issue is if Siasia wants to invite Mikel we still also need Onazi in d DMF. Mikel and Onazi midfield partnership has proven d best for the Super Eagles for d past 3yrs. For the other Over-aged player I would want a Central Defender, with Ambrose as my first choice. Kenneth Omeruo is U23 & can partner well with Ambrose in d centre of the defense. The best available U23 players can man d right and left backs positions.

We dnt need Ighalo and Musa in that team.

Cc: forgiveness, TheGoodJoe, Safarigirl, Tomtoxic, all other parties in d Mikel argument.

TheGoodJoe:
He should not call Nacho if he is inviting his regular senior strikers. Martins, Ighalo, Musa, Success is enough. It is just seven games he is playing.

Nacho is important to us Cityzens and we will gladly accept him. Remember Man City asking for assurances before they release Nacho to Siasia. The stance has not changed.
No, No, I don't agree with that thinking. Please lets put sentiments aside. To me it is country before Club. Iheanacho is more important to me as a Nigerian than to being a favorite player to any "Cityzens' as u call it. Even if Siasia invites Ighalo and Musa, I still expect to see Iheanacho in that team. No player, not even Success or Etebo is sure of a starting line-up. Inviting all our best legs brings in competition and that brings out the best in the team.

And hu says Siasia cannot bench Ighalo or Musa. Osaze Odemwingie was the only over-aged player that honoured the invitation to the Beijin 2008 Olympics. Siasia, same Siasia, started him from the bench in most of the matches. Odemwingie was nt even our key attacking weapon in that team. It was Chinedu Ogbuke Obasi and Victor Obinna Nsofor, who were U23s, that led the attack for most of the games. The then Everton's highly rated Victor Anichebe couldn't even make d starting 11 for most of the games which is one of the reasons y I dnt buy the Mr forgiveness philosophy.

We need every eligible U23 player. I dnt even want Ighalo and Musa in that Olympics team. I believe the young attacking lads can do the job. As an observer from my TV screen , the defense is where we need to work on most. Siasia should give us a list of over-aged defenders he is considering and mayb a defensive midfielder.
Sports › Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by Icon4s(m): 2:56pm On Dec 18, 2015
TheGoodJoe:
If Coach Siasia is more interested in carrying Experienced lads to fill the attack of a team and leave his leaky defence and his midfield that lacks coherency, there is no need for him to take Nacho out of the Etihad to bench in the competition.

Aguero is still leading the line. BONY comes next before Nacho. Coach Siasia wants regular striker. So I do not see a space for Nacho because Success is also a regular.

It is not a Nigeria Man City team. I am more concerned with Nacho's development. He develops more as a Man city reserve player than as a sub for the Olympics team.
If Iheanacho is as good as you guys here have been chanting then he should have no issues making the staring 11 of the Olympics team irrespective of which over-aged or experienced player Siasia choses to introduce. A player that u guys said could easily have walked into the Arsenal and Man United starting 11? Except if u guys are telling me our 2016 Olympic team would be stronger than the Arsenal and Man United teams.

Even though Siasia is saying he will not invite bench warmers u and I know there are always exceptions. Iheanacho though nt a starter with City will definitely get a call up.

He is not a starter in any way. Coach Siasia should leave him to participate fully in the preseason and join the team at the start of next season.

He should use his experience players and leave Nacho for us.
We need Iheanacho in that team. Though I am nt sure if he will get a starting place. August 2016 is still far. He might get more regular time in City and also make more improvements. Another player can still step-up before then and relegate Iheanacho to the Olympic team bench. I am sure u know that Sokari and Etebo play similar roles to Iheanacho especially if it is a 4-5-1 formation. By and large we still need Iheanacho in the team; forget ManCity. U are a Nigerian before being a ManCity fan.

Bros, we know Victor Moses played vital roles on our way to lifting the Nations Cup trophy. True or false?

That is what matters most.

Saviour case is not any way similar to Moses Simon.

Moses Simon has played 14 matches( out of 19 league games) and spent 815 minutes on the pitch this season. He has scored only one goal in the league with many assist while Saviour has played only 2 matches out of 19 league matches and spent 12 minutes on the pitch in his first year in a professional league. So, how is that similar to each other now?

OK, who do think Saviour can bench out of these players( Moses Simon, Michael Olaitan and Isaac Success)?

Yes oo. I believe so must in them after I saw what Victor Moses brought to the table at Nations Cup. At least, there must be another Anglo-Nigerian better than him.

Akpom and Ibe are not in my list because they have pledged their allegiance to play for England while Iwobi can't displace(he deserves a chance thou) the one's on ground

Please don't compare Ibe with Saviour, Success and Dimgba because he's miles ahead of them. Abegi.

Aneke is miles ahead of Azubuike.

Iorfa is a right back player so there's no need to compare him with the one's you listed.

Solanke, have you seen him played before?

He is a prolific goal scorer and highly skillful player. I can say he is more skilful and prolific in front of goal than Success and Iheancho.

Nevertheless, Success, Iheanacho, Simon, Etebor, Ezekiel and Azubuike are all included in my list. The rest are not good enough.

Tell me, which club is Saviour playing for currently and how many matches has he played this season?
If Victor Moses is the best Anglo-Nigerian to have ever played for the Super Eagles then I am not impressed.

U know the problem? The English league is simply over-rated. The earlier u realize that the better.

Godwin Saviour plays for KV Oostende of Belgium. He has played only 2 games for his club this season and scored 1goal which is not abnormal for a young player that jst got signed up at the beginning of this season. His fate is similar to Moses Simon in terms of game time this season. And see what Simon in playing in the Super Eagles. We saw Saviour shine during the Olympic qualifying games against Congo.

Moses Simon first of all, is already in the squad. He is a Super Eagles player. I mean among the foreign base players you want Nigeria to give a chance.

Moses Simon operates mostly on the left flank, While Tongoli Tonbara operates from the right.

Finidi George could have come in as one of the overage players. Oruma could have played Amokachi's role and Finidi, replace Tijani Babangida.

But, the team was so star Studded that the best winger in the World could not make a cut in the team.
Tongoli Tonbara, a very skillful player bt not so efficient. He will have to fight for that position with Stanley Dimgba and Godwin Saviour.
Alternatively he can b experimented at the centre AM role jst behind the main striker, hey but Kingsley Sokari, Kelechi Iheanacho and Oghenekaro Etebo are already lined up there. Etebo also plays from the wings. This team is so talented up-front that's y I am of the opinion that we dnt need any over-aged player upfront. Line this attack minded midfielders behind 'the beast' called Success and we are good to go.

One of the reasons I dnt like Mourinho. He kills the careers of players. That was how he also stopped Demba Ba's move to Arsenal only to sell him to a Ukrainean club. There is no fair play in his coaching philosophy at all. Any player that scores against Chelsea he buys and put on the bench just to deplete that team.
