Eltigre7:
The FA has released new rules to protect
Chelsea from relegation.
1. Chelsea will be allowed to field 13 players during home games and 15 during away games.
2. If they win 2 consecutive corners kicks they will be awarded a penalty.
3. Any attempt on goal will be treated as a goal.. Including off target shots.
4. If a Chelsea player is fouled, that's a straight penalty
regardless of the position.
5. They will be allowed to make 13 substitutions.
6. They will be awarded 6 points for every match won, 4 points for a draw n 2 points if they lose.
7. They will be allowed to field 2 or 3 goal keepers at the same time.
8. Any attempt to tackle or mark Hazard will result to a penalty.
9. Finally Jose Mou will be allowed to instruct the players inside the
pitch while the match is ongoing...
Even with these they will still not make top four.

Sir GoodJoe, you've said my mind again. *smiles*

I just wanted to show Sir Icon4s the inconsistencies in his views on soccer.

Why can't he just stick to his guns 100% even if they're wrong?? He says something here and reverses at the next opportunity. And maintains both "contradictory views" if necessary "just to buttress his points"....... IT'S NOT FAIR!!!!! DIARIS God!!!!!! *smiles*

It's 100% clear to me now that he's not being true at all..........

Sir GoodJoe, u're a core and honest Man City fan and keen observer. I've heard you......

I know Nacho is in "great hands" and I know he will rise through his training and development to be "The best"...........

Patience will be exercised and I believe we'll all be the happier for it...........

I just love it when Young Nigerians like myself excel like I'm excelling........ It gives me great Joy.

Anyway, Sir Pellegrini, pls and pls..... Don't let anything stop you from making sure Nacho gets the best, finest, and truest of ur decisions......... Thanks.

**smiles**
What are u talking abt? If Iheanacho was a defender or defensivs midfielder do u think he will b getting d game time he is getting? Iheanacho as a forward is getting d playing time he is enjoying bc he a forward ånd so d coach can afford to take d risk. Also he is surrounded by more experienced forwards hu can easily give him cover and support.

The fact that Iheanacho is in Mancity does nt mean he is better than all d Super Eagles players. National team football is different from club football. As a forward in The National team a lot rests on ur shoulders and games are few.I doubt Iheanacho can shoulder such pressures and responsibility.

And for those of you undermining Eguavoen credentials as a coach, u will tell me how many coaching courses u have attended. U think it is like what u do on ur Play Stations.

And I guesss u all know better than Pellegrini. U can as Well go and take over his job.
Sports › Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by Icon4s(m): 1:16pm On Oct 27, 2015
Guys, in my office few minutes ago, I strumbled into former Super Eagles right back, Former Golden Eaglets coach, Former Olympic Team coach and Former Super Eagles coach - Mr Augustine "Serezo" Eguavoen.

After introducing myself I invited him for lunch with me as it was lunch time. He asked me to give him 10mins to complete the task he came for. We got talking over lunch.

Because of the likes of TheSuperNerd, TheGoodJoe, Safarigirl and other Iheanacho fans I raised the Iheanacho debate after a series of discussions.(Men, Eguavoen dey roast o)

He was of the opinion that Iheanacho is talented and a good player.(Nothing more).

I tried being specific with comparisms with the likes of Anthony Martial, Bony, young Isco and Carzola and d likes.

His answer was "Iheanacho is still a baby he needs time to mature". I raised a subtle objection that Anthony Martial is also 19yrs old. He said "Martial is more maturered physically, mentally and in the level of knowledge of the game. Martial is a product of the French League and even featured in last year's champions league with Monaco". He said the best for Iheanacho now might be a loan move for 1 or 2 seasons.
-This is a man who has played the game and coached the game talking.

We also discussed d current Eaglets and Super Eagles.

Wrong! Wrong!! Wrong!!! Wrong!!!! Wrong!!!!!

You don't even get it do you?

I don't care about any other talent in terms of comparison....... My focus is on the "Super Talent" of Nacho and whether u like it or not, he just might be the best!!!!!

Does that hurt? Is that a problem now? Look, my point is simple, about Nacho....... The lad is good and ready at this point to roll with the "big boys". Why? Apart from "Super talent", he got the right attitude...... He got "loads and loads of confidence".......... He even got that "touch of hunger and subtle arrogance(channelled right)" to make it big........... So tell me Sir, what else do you want from a 19 year old?? EXPERIENCE?? How do u get that when u don't get to feature as much as u should huh?

You're kinda funny Sir..... Coz I recall couple of pages back on this thread where you said something like this, "AS A GOALIE, DEFENDER OR DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER, EXPERIENCE IS MORE IMPORTANT. BUT AS A STRIKER OR A FORWARD, EXPERIENCE CAN BE EXCUSED BECAUSE IF HE GOT LOADS OF TALENT AND CONFIDENCE, HE CAN THRIVE IN ATTACKING POSITIONS WHERE SKILLS AND BRAINS CAN COMPENSATE AS EXPERIENCE CAN COME WITH TIME..........". If u like deny it but I know u said something like this........ Or u want proof?

Pellegrini limiting Nacho's game time shows what exactly?? That's he's not ready? Shows what? Sir, from my end it shows some kind of "fear" and "hesistation to boldly unleash this kid".

As for the Super Eagles, I'll ask one question asked by Safarigirl once..... How many Super Eagles players will make the bench of "stars studded" Man City
or even get playing time??

Invitation to the national team is no "criterion" to show you're ready for the "big league"..... So Iwobi is better abi? So Chima Akas is better? All because of National team invitation? Pls, let's not even go there............ *smiles*
This guy u love this Nacho die!!! you no go kill person with all those descriptive adjectives abeg. grin grin

Firstly, I'm not comparing Martial and Iheanacho. I only made a citation of/to another 19 year old(who happens to be "10 months older"wink.

Secondly, how else is football?? Football is dynamic and got no specifics.

Thirdly, You're right...... Pellegrini "knows" his players better than you, me or anyone here...... Exactly the same way Sir Alex Ferguson "knew" Paul Pogba.

Finally, pellegrini prefers more matured and experienced players?? Well, yeah, I agree 50% to that which explains why he's scared.

On the other 50%, pls tell me how Isco came to limelight again........ How "matured and experienced" was he?

Same with a young Santi Carzorla.

These 2 played under Pellegrini. So why's Nacho's case different here?? Aguero is out and this is happening. What better chances will he have to "prove" he's more than ready. I just think Pellegrini is "thinking" about his job.......... Believing in Iheanacho's talent is not enough... He needs to trust him more.
Yes u are comparing Iheanacho with Martial. I know d problem. U think bc Iheanacho won d MVP U17 he is d best footballer of his generation (say among 19yrs olds).U mayb thinking where was Anthony Martial when Iheanacho won the U17 MVP. Football is nt an arithmetic progression. There are still some players dat didnt even feature at dat U17 dat will dazzle soon. Some dat even took part dat no one noticed will soon flourish ahead of those that shone like a million stars.

Yes Pellegrini introduced a young Isco and Carzola into d senior squad. I think ur expectations on Iheanacho is pretty high. He is talented no doubt bt I am telling u from a coaching perspective dat u need more than that. U should also ask y he has nt been invited to d Super Eagles.

For Pellegrini still limiting his game time even in d absence of Aguero, Da Silva and Nasri it tells alot.

And yes maturity and experience count alot in football.
Sports › Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by Icon4s(m): 6:01am On Oct 27, 2015
TheSuperNerd:
Honestly, Coach Pellegrini is starting to make me think he's kinda "scared"....... He knows Nacho is just super talented and as good as any out there (imagine 19-yr old Martial was Man utd's best player on a day, Man city missed Silva, Aguero and Nasri), so why still limit his game time?

Anyway, I expect Iheanacho to get big gametime on wednesday (28th). If not, then it shows that aguero or not, Nacho might have to do what Pogba did.
Calm down bro.Football is nt like that. Pellegrini knows his players better than u and I. He knows what each player brings to d table.

Even if Iheanacho does nt start on wednesday, it doesn't matter much. He is still a rising Star that needs time to mature. Perhaps if Iheanacho was in Manu he would get more playing time jst like d 19yrs old Martial u are comparing him with. U should know by now dat Pellegrini prefares more matured and experienced players.

I aired my opinion based on what I saw. Its my opinion and does not need anybody's endorsement. I think they will surprise people in this tournament. If they didn't, they'll be compensated by the fact that they came with boys with huge potentials and very bright future ahead.

Yes apart from Nigeria, I support Croatia. It would take a very talented and physical side to dominate and beat the eaglets. Croatia did that and they've earned my respect.

Don't dismiss them like you dismissed New Zealand. You'll be surprised.

so they were this tactically sound and they couldn't win the same USA that everyone beat? Couldn't win Chile also? Abi na only against Nigeria their tactics dey show? Did you watch their other games or is it just one game you've already seen these things?

Like Icon4s said, don't let the Nigerian game fool you. If Croatia can scale Germany, then we can rate them. A team that couldn't win Chile and USA when there was no pressure, does not qualify as a 'contender'...even South Korea that won Brazil should be rated above them
U are spot on my Sister. U have always known me to b a critic and a conservatist when it comes to our national teams and players.
When I see a team dat is glory bound i know. That was how one other guy even after we beat USA 2-0 said we will crash out from d group phase.Saying he concluded that after watching d first 20mins. After we beat Chile 5-1 I was expecting to see his face here bt he never show up till date.

No matter what any1 says Nigeria are top favorites to lift the trophy. Most international pundits also share this view.
I expect nothing short of d semis from them.

No. Because they have a good team, good and very skilful individual players and because they have not lost any match.

I see that boy Moro becoming a player like Modric in the future. They did not beat Nigeria cos we had already qualified, they beat Nigeria because they played better and deserved to win. Let's see what happen between them and Germany. Congrats to them in advance. They have done well even if they went home after the match against the Germans.
If reverse was d case, and Croatia had secured qualification and top spot and they faced d Nigerian team and we needed dat win we would have won that match. I have seen scenerios like this play out severally. The psychology of haven secured top spot no matter d outcome of dat game affected our boys.

I think Segun Odegbami is a better sports administrator. He will fit in better as d FIFA President. He is a calm and very tactful person unlike Uzor Kalu who is just like an average lousy Nigerian politician.

Uzor Kalu is more of a business Man. Can he handle football politics without the kind of gragra Nigerian politicians display?

How come nobody is tipping Croatia to at least reach the semi finals?

If I have to bet, I'll bet on them (Croatia) to take the trophy
. They have a good team and can only get better.

I'll support Eaglets out of patriotism but i think they need to improve. Nwakali in my opinion isn't worth the £4m that agents valued him. He is in the mood of Mikel or Obiora Nwankwo...good football brain, less mobility and aggression, very cautious and laid back kind of midfielder.

Anumudu, Chukwueze and Osimhen are the stars of the squad. Agor and Enogela are hard working but over zealous. They need to know when to take risk or release the balls.
Bc they beat a Nigeria team dat had already qualified? Let them face Germany first before I know where to place them.

Mexico beat an already qualified Germany. If Germany had needed to beat Mexico to qualify d result won't b same as it ended in dat grp meeting.
I still rate Germany above Mexico.

I rate Nigeria above Mali to win d title.Even though Mali are African champions they are known to b pereniel under-achievers dnt b surprised if dey lose to Korea DPR. A country dat has played 7finals out of 10 participation is always favorites to get to d next final.Mali has never reached d semis at this age grade.

....and Korea won Costa Rica 2-1 while SA lost 2-0....Korea DPR enters R16 and SA goes home.

Told ya Korea DPR would win CRC before SA would win Russia.

As expected, only 2 teams qualified out of Group F, unexpectedly, New Zealand won Paraguay 2-1 and took that 2nd spot, sending Paraguay home with 3 points.

5 of 6 European teams remain: France, Germany, Croatia, Russia, Belgium

3 of 5 South American teams: Brazil, Chile, Ecuador

3 of 4 Asian teams: Korea DPR, Korea PR, Australia

2 of 4 North American teams: Mexico, CRC

2 of 4 African teams: Nigeria, Mali

1 of 1 Oceania team: New Zealand

R16 ties 28 Oct

Brazil v New Zealand

Mexico v Chile

Nigeria v Australia

Korea Republic v. Belgium

R16 ties 29 Oct

Croatia v. Germany

Mali v. Korea DPR

Russia vs. Ecuador

France v. CRC
Yeah u predicted d Korea DPR and South Africa outcomes correctly.I expected Russia to beat SA bt didnt expect CRC to lose to Korea DPR.
New Zealand shocked d world by beating Paraguay thereby also sending England home cos if Paraguay had won England too would have qualified. Shiits happen in football and I think that's 1 of them.

Nigeria and Mali should be able to ease past their opponents.

I think Nigeria, France and Germany(if dey beat Croatia) are top favorites and next grp of favorites are Mali, Mexico, Brazil & Croatia (if dey beat Germany)
