Coach Samson Siasia has invited Arsenal attacking midfielder Alex Iwobi and eight other professional plying their trade overseas for the All African Games qualifiers against Gabon.

Apart from the Arsenal Under 21 skipper, the headline names that made the list are Standard Liege forward Imoh Ezekiel and lanky striker Paul Onuachu of FC Midtjylland.

Other professionals expected to make the trip to Libreville are Aminu Umar, Abdullahi Gero, Atanda Sodiq, Sadiq Popoola and Japheth Okirie.

According to Samson Siasia, 18 players will be on the plane to Gabon, meaning more players will be axed before the trip.

Already, Isah Mas’ud, Effiong Emmanuel Etim, Godwin Odibo, Adetunji Sunday and Yahaya Adamu have been dropped.

If Siasia can invite Abdulahi Gero, Y cant he invite his fellow former U20 players like Abdul Ajagun, Olanrewaju Kayode and Michael Olaitan?
In fact Kenneth Omeruo and Aaron Samuel should b in that team. We need d best assemblage of players Mr Siasia.

If Ghana played that match with the same core of players that lost 1-6 to the Eaglets two years ago,I think they would be beaten anywhere in Ghana. Manu Garba and Ugbade have done well with this team. I wasn't surprised they did well at the super 6,I was surprised they beat Enyimba and Pillars too with the likes of well established players like Gambo,Haruna and Sokari.

I think Flying Eagles will do well at the AYC and World Cup. I don't foresee anything stopping them from achieving that goal.

I would've loved to see them play the Ghanaians at the AYC instead of this friendly..it wasn't needed. They took the lead twice and Ghana only equalised through penalty n goal mouth scramble. I think they shld not play the second match.

U should know fully well dat Ghana will nt likely use their last U17 as d core of their U20 after a disgracefull U17 showing. They have a solid league and would want to source for the core of d U20 from there. Mind u some key Nigerian players dat featured in dat 6-1 bashing didnt play this game. Eg Success, Nwakali, Ndidi and Iheanacho. Lets see how d next game turns out.

My friend, Ghana is no push over at youths level.
Infact dey have a better record than Nigeria at yd U20s level. However, i expect Nigeria to win d return leg.
The 2-2 draw against Ghana in Accra/ Kumasi shows d team has lots of promise.

Check it out when the games mean more to us. We beat them in both group stages. The third place match was meaningless to us. Ask yourself this question in the last ten years has any team scored more than 2 goals against Ghana. We have Neva lost 3-1 let alone 3-0 against tough European squad let alone Mali.

In fact no one has beaten Ghana with more than 2 goals.
