abatically: For the umpteenth time, Mikel NEVER played number 10 at the world cup. Just because he wears number 10 doesn't make him a number 10. Against Iran it was azeez, against Bosnia and Argentina it was babatunde and against France it was Moses. Mikel played central midfield, he was supposed to be the holding midfielder while onazi plays box to box but he was just strolling on the park.

The problems that have caused the Nigeria Football Federation to be suspended by Fifa could be resolved on Monday
Reports have it that the civil suit at the Plateau State High Court in Jos which has created a lot of problems for Nigerian football could be withdrawn on Monday.
This would enable the reinstatement of the Aminu Maigari-led board of the Nigeria Football Federation and then ensure Fifa lifts its suspension of the country from international football.

“Mrs. [Ebiakpo] Baribote has agreed to withdraw the suit, but is asking for the 15-year ban on her husband to be lifted, and for him to be reinstated as second vice president of the NFF,” reports SL10.

“The suit will most likely be withdrawn on Monday, and Maigari and his board will be reinstated but that will not be the end. This move is only to comply with FIFA’s directive, and get the suspension lifted.”

Fifa has given Nigeria until Tuesday July 15 to reinstate Maigari’s board or face the consequences of staying in international football wilderness for a long time.

A prolonged ban will see Nigeria fail to participate in next month’s Women U20 World Cup finals in Canada as well as African qualifiers of the male U17 and U20 as well as derail the country’s hopes of qualifying for and defending its title at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Xavi won the u20 world cup hosted by Nigeria in 1999. Add to that the Sydney silver medal he got a year later.

Iniesta won the Uefa u17 and u19 championships. Not forgetting he got to the u20 world cup finals in 2003 where his Spanish side lost narrowly to Brazil.

Ok Xavi agreed. If u talk of continental level as u mentioned uefa. The John Obu boys won the CAF U20 in 2011 after previously winning a silver medal at the U17 WC.

Another player who can b part of this Golden generation if he can break off his shackles of injuries is Joel Obi. He is just 23yrs old and more creative dan Mikel and Azeez put together.

John Obu may have been criticised in the past for nt winning any trophy bt he has provided us with a crop of talented young stars. The likes of Iniesta, Xavi, Alonso, Villa and co never won anything at youth level bt dey later rose to become Super Stars. The NFF should monitor these young players.A Golden generation is about to emerge.

^^^ yeah. Adding 3 of those defenders as over age makes it the real Super Eagles without only Mikel, Osaze and Emenike and all 3 we can do without. That was similar to how we won d Olympics in 1996.
Ambrose, Omeruo, Obaobona and Echiejile are our regular back 4. Onazi and Azeez( in place of Mikel) will handle d DM and CM. Olaitan/ Ajagun/ Iheanacho plays AM. Musa and Babatunde make up d Wings forwards while Nwofor or Ezekiel play CF. Keshi, if he remains d coach, should arrange for a friendly using this selection. It is a dream team abt to emerge.
