charlesemeka85:See this is why I am still of the opinion that Manu should remain as an U17 coach. He is good at talents hunt no doubt but his tactics are always suspect. Look at the 2013 U17. It was all running and attack. Sometimes u wonder which position which player plays. Or what formation the coach adopted. My major concern now is Manu has failed to produce good attackers this time. |
charlesemeka85:The strength of Manu Garba's teams has always been in the attack. |
AmoloPatrick:For how long was it used? |
forgiveness:Come! Are we still on this tribal issue? Chairman we have moved on to other things abeg. |

TheSuperNerd:Honestly FIFA is not being fair. How can the Oceanian Federation be producing 2 teams. It is always New Zealand and one small Island that will come and be packing goals. Fiji, Tahiti, Tonga, Solomon Island . Now when it comes to the Senior Works cup where Europeans dominate, they produce 16 team out of 32. Africa has been dominant at the U17 level yet we have only 4 slots! Imagine traditionally strong teams like CIV, Mali, Ghana, Guinea and Burkina Faso repeatedly not being part of the U17 WC. Imagine having an U17 WC where all these team are present. And to make issues worse the useless CAF gave only 2 slots to WAFU! Africa deserves more slots at the U17 WC and WAFU equally deserve more slots at the CAF U17. |
Argentina vs Cameroon 40mins time. A game to watch. |

Humility017:In your imagination he did the selection only in Kaduna right? ![]() Bros, we need to be getting our facts right o. Go and find out about the selection process for this team. |
Humility017:Oga, let's stop all these tribal accusations. I don't think you guys know the weight of responsibility on these coaches. Why would they want to chose their tribes men as players at the expense of their jobs? Think about that. Even though some of us expect a kind of balance in the ethnic composition of our national teams, sometimes they are balanced and at other times they are not. Yes, a coach might chose a couple of players based on certain sentiments which could be ethnic, religious, political, economic etc. But be rest assured that the majority of players especially the key men in the team will be selected based on merit. For those accusing Manu of ethnic or religious biase look at his 2013 team. Is it not the team that produced likes of Iheanacho, Nwakali, Mathew, Ndidi, Ezeh, Nwobodo, Obasi, Uzoho, Okon, Just from off my head. How can we come in 2019 and accuse same man of ethnic or regional biase? And even for those accusing Amuneke of same in 2015, things like this happen where most of the best players that emerge will just spring up from a certain region which was the case in 2015 and now in 2019. Do you know there was no Yoruba player in Fani Amun's 1993 Golden Eaglets team? Do you also know there were not more than one or two Igbos in Yemi Tela's 2007 Golden Eaglets? But sometimes too, we have a mix of ethnicities like the John Obu's era of U17 and U20s. Things like these happen. It switches sides and then balances again. But the most important thing is that they are all representing Nigeria and we have to support every of our teams irrespective of the ethnic composition. |
Humility017:Ok, but Kanu is from Arochukwu in Abia state but grew up in Owerri. |
Humility017:Not towing any tribal lines but just want to point out some facts: From that ur list: Kanu, Amuneke and Mikel are not from the South-South. Except if I didn't get the point u are trying to make. |
