TV/MoviesRe: ‘Up North’, ‘Lionheart’ & ‘King Of Boys’ For Hollywood Screening In US by Icon79(m): 2:30pm On Mar 21, 2019
Ideally, true.

Realistically? Not really. Because most people who would be watching these movies are African plus very few Afro Americans and Afro Caribbean ... and maybe, just maybe a smattering of white people.

I think sports and music (especially sports) have better chance of improving Nigeria's image than these so called poorly produced and poorly casted Nollywood movies.

Hmm. Well, that probably didn't happen at MMIA because anytime I travel thru MMIA you have to go thru 3 or more different check points - starting from when you go to get your boarding pass ... 5 different people would check your bag, while begging you for money at the same time sad shocked

LOL. I laugh in Swahili. We'll revisit this thread in a few months time, when the likes of Ighalo, Musa, Mikel, and Onazi prove to everyone, at the AFCON, that they are well past their sell by date. I think y'all are getting carried away because Musa had a decent World Cup and Ighalo played well in our last game.

Like I had said, when a player is over the hill, he can still have occasional good games but the problem is doing it on a CONSISTENT basis. That's when you'll find these guys wanting. Mark my words!

O pari

komekn:
First of all, the Super Eagles is ABSOLUTELY NOT the place you develop TALENT.

Talent is developed, nurtured and created in your club and league. It is recognised and appreciated by CONTINOUS CONSISTENT TOP QUALITY OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES.

What you are proposing is to enthrone MEDIOCRITY create the framework for Nepotism, favoritism and corruption.

The players you have mentioned have not gone anywhere near the level that Ighalo, Ahmed Musa and Mikel Obi have attained, indeed they MAY NEVER EVER attain that level.

You do not put speculative potential over established proven and tested quality players . All because they have chosen to chase after huge amounts of £££€€€ in less competitive league.

Your approach will take us BACKWARDS.

Let Osimhen and Chukwueze prove and develop themselves first over a few season. They could easily turn out to be a small flash in the pan. I can not even call them." one season wonders" because they have have not even played one season of football yet, in addition they haven't done anything wondrous to upstage our trusted players. For goodness sake this is thier first season in competitive first team football.

Personally, I will rank him after Neymar, Mbappe, and Mane. Zaha just doesn't get the credit he deserves because he plays for Crystal Palace coupled with the fact that he's African. The dude is wickedly talented.

If there's no server, how come APC is accusing PDP of "hacking INEC Server"?

O pari

Mynd44:
Every time the PDP mentions "server" I get confused.

1. There was no electronic voting

2. Collation was done manually and transmitted manually hence no server was involved

3. The results have not even been uploaded to INEC's website so it is on? Paper.

4. Calculation was done via pencil, biro and calculators.

So

1. How did the PDP come up with this allegation of INEC server?

2. How did they even get access to the "server" sef?

What's killing the Nigerian church is half baked knowledge of the scripture. I am a born again Christian but I know that there are very few Nigerian preachers who can rightly teach the Word of God. They think that shouting and jumping up and down is equivalent to teaching their congregants what they need to know to be sound in the faith.

If you provide me the platform many of these preachers have, I will use the scripture to send the likes of Daddy Freeze back to school.

You got a point there sha. It would be a mistake to take any team for granted in this day and age.

But I am still ambivalent because I think we're missing a huge opportunity to test our fringe players before the AFCON. I mean, we can still organize friendly matches test these players but it's really not the same as having them play in a full fledged game.

I totally agree with the first portion of your statement. But with the level of talent at our disposal, can't we beat Libya without those two players? I mean, you gotta agree that this Seychelles game would've been a good opportunity for Rohr to throw those players (and others in the fringe) into the fray and see what they can do, instead of recycling the same old and tired players.

Alex Iwobi can play that role better than him, believe me. This post Chelsea Mikel is not a really true playmaker, he still uses experience and natural talent to get by in that role but, right now, DM is his best position.

As for Ighalo and Musa, I don't see what they have that we can't get from the young guns like Onyekuru, Osihmen, Chukwueze, etc. I don't want a situation where folks would be playing in a retirement league like China or the backwaters of Saudi Arabia but still be commanding starting positions in our national team based on their past exploits alone. I would prefer they step aside and give the young players a chance. How do we develop the young players if we keep recycling these oldies??

O pari

komekn:
If you are good enough them you are old enough.

In reality there is nobody young or old who is currently better than Mikel.

If Pirlo can play for Juventus and Italy at 35+ or Arjen Robben, Danny Valdes, etc for the best clubs and for country then we have no basis to ask for the retirement of players that are still performing.

Currently all the supposedly youthful players we have are simply potential that is yet to be realised. Effectively young pretenders.

Being youthful can not and Will NEVER BE the sole criteria for a player to replace another.

Currently there is nobody better than Ighalo fact.

Good info! Thanks.

I will keep my eyes open, if something comes my way, I will give it a shot and try the warranty stuff. But I am not sure that I can take a plunge on a 2015 or later model MB right now tho.... those MFs are pretty pricey! Problem is, I like big cars so, for me, it gotta either the S Class (or the GL 450/550 SUV).

O pari

cococandy:
No it’s not yearly. Depending on who you get the maintenance plan from, it covers between 3-5 years starting from when the manufacturers warranty expires.
So let’s say you’re not buying a brand new one, buy one that’s still new (like 2-3) years and less than 30,000 miles on it. That way, you can have additional manufacturers warranty even up to 1 or 2 years before having to buy a maintenance plan.

I think we give these guys too much credit based on their past glories. I mean, somebody like Ighalo or Musa can have a fantastic game every now and then but the point is, as they age, those stellar games becomes rare and far between. I don't agree much with Pa Oni but I do agree with him that: at a stage, "if you refuse to leave football, football would leave you" grin

Forget their football age and take a look at where they play:
Mikel - from Chelsea to China, and now to the championship
Ighalo - from Watford to China
Musa - from Russia to Saudi Arabia

Trust me, you're are as good as the league/competition you play in grin

O pari

raindodger13:
I agreed with everything you said except the part about kicking out the veterans (except onazi). Most of the guys you mentioned are in their mid-to-late 20s at most early 30s. They still have alot to offer. We could easily merge the young talent with the experience, we don't have to abruptly kick out the vets.
