Politics › Re: Restructuring: Where Will The Extra South East State Come From? - Buhari by Idiko1: 1:48am On Jan 09, 2022
nero2face:
PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has asked those clamouring for restructuring to define their concept of restructuring.

President Buhari, who stated this in an interview with the Channels TV, which was aired on Wednesday night, also explained his problem with the South-East on their demand for another state.
Asked his position on restructuring, the President said, “Those who talk of restructuring; I want them to define what they mean in their own concept of restructuring.

“Do they want more states? If they want, look at the map of Nigeria, at whose expense?

“I have a problem with people from South-East; they said they wanted another state, as each of the geopolitical zones has six states.

“I said go and look at the map and see how many of the existing states will contribute to other states.
“That was the last I heard from them” on the matter, the President said.

Nigerians in particular and Africans in general have sentimental problem. Besides the faculty issue, a person wonders how a dingbat who was not qualified to be a recruit in the army ended up a commissioned officer in Nigeria. Yet he rose to the rank of a general and elected as the president of Nigeria. What a country. Muhammadu Buhari, you always have issues with southeast and will continue to do so while you step into your grave. The southeastern people simply demanded equity. Every geopolitical zone in Nigeria had, at least, six states. Most dunces from the northern region rode on the back of QUOTA SYSTEM to the house of fame. A punk such as you never had problem with northern region as regards quota system.

Most people from southeast do not want the silly restructure but disintegration of Nigeria. If Nigeria should go the way of restructure, it must be economical and infrastructural one. There are two economical and international point of contacts in Nigeria. One is located in the defunct northern region and the other in defunct western region. The first step of restructure should include the location of economical and international point of contacts in the defunct eastern region and midwestern region.

A political alliance rooted in conspiracy, exploiting oil and gas resources in the SS and the SE to develop North and Southwest regions, but exclude the SS and the SE; deny the SE and SS apex political position of Nigeria - such an alliance shall take Nigeria many years backward, as we have witnessed since the emergence of APC alliance.
Karma is a bitch. It shall strike the people and the areas promoting such alliance when they least expected it.
Please do not pay any mind to the mongrels in Arewa who pretended not to know it has been an age long strategy between the north and southwest. Only a dumbass goon cannot not see the pattern with the laying of pipelines and location of economic infrastructure in Nigeria. The only thing which will give relief to the people of SE and SS is disintegration of the shithole called Nigeria. Nothing economically tangible, infrastructure wise, shall be situated along NE/SE/SS corridor due to the position of Ndigbo in Nigeria. The call for self-determination by Ndigbo is borne out of strategy to isolate SE and SS from sustainable economic infrastructure in Nigeria. Most of the so-called leaders in SE/SS are blinded to self-aggrandizement and heavily tokened by the elites from northern region of Nigeria. The leaders of Nigeria from northern and western region have practiced the game of robbing Pual and paying Peter.

Why type lies just to back your wrong view. They still had meeting just last year. Constitution empowers the Governor as the CSO and this is what counts in any legal system. It is just the politics in this Nation that hinders true Federalism from being practised.

If the Governor have no power why do they reject CP deployed to their states and the IGP grants their request?
When people manipulate words, it brings certain implication. Please for posterity's sake, what section of 1999 Nigerian Constitution explicitly or implicitly made mention of CSO (chief security officer)? You simply cannot grant an office or a duty which is not mentioned in the constitution to any office holder in Nigeria.

Yoruba and the elites from northern region of Nigeria had piloted Nigeria to the pit of hell. I had shot any Igbo person who hungers for presidential seat of the shithole called Nigeria. Most Nigerians are wishing for prosperous nation for Nigeria where safety and respect of human rights are paramount. Instead, a basement dingbat is drooling over a particular region. Nigeria needs to be disintegrated for good.
Politics › Re: Ban Of National Anthem, Cow Meat: Don’t Jeopardize Your Case, Wabara Cautions IP by Idiko1: 2:45pm On Jan 08, 2022
DubaiLandLord:
It ‘ll set S’East on fire —CAN •Focus on Kanu’s release, Biafra referendum — former Deputy Speaker

THE threat by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, that the Nigerian national anthem and consumption of cow meat should be banned in the Biafra territory from April this year has attracted reactions from some people, with the respondents urging the Biafra agitators to thread softly. Those who reacted said IPOB should realize that the people of the South East have been at the receiving end since the agitation began.

In his reaction, former Senate President, Senator Adolphus Wabara, cautioned that banning national anthem and consumption of Fulani cows in Biafra land might jeopardise the case of IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Wabara advised members of the group against taking any action that might worsen the already precarious situation in the region.

He urged the movement to be calm in the face of the current ordeals of Kanu instead of making utterances that could further aggravate the situation.

“The group shouldn’t further fuel the tension but should wait for other possible options. This might further jeopardize the situation on ground. They shouldn’t do that now”.

Similarly, the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Abia State chapter, Apostle Emmanuel Agomuo, completely disagreed with IPOB leadership on the latest order. He said the group was taking laws into its hands as the order was not enforceable.

According to him, any attempt to enforce the order will result into serious confrontation with the federal authorities, a development he added, that would further worsen matters for people in the region.

He said the group should rather focus on efforts to secure release for its detained leader instead of dishing orders that are capable of setting the region on fire.

The CAN boss argued that even if President Muhamnadu Buhari had declined from considering political solution to Kanu, there could be other options of resolving the impasse.

“The order amounts to taking laws into their hands. We are talking of how to release Kanu. Pressure is on President Buhari to release Kanu, and they should not take any action that could truncate that effort.

These boys should not set South East on fire. We don’t support this style.”

Former Deputy Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Dr. Cosmos Ndukwe, who said the order ‘is very disturbing”, advised IPOB not to embark on projects that could further jeopardize Igbo interest in the scheme of things in Nigeria. He argued that 2022 is a very important year in the political history of Nigeria, and that anything capable of truncating the efforts for South East to produce the next president of Nigeria in 2023 should be avoided.

The former Commissioner for Environment and Chief of Staff to the Governor, advised IPOB to pursue the release of its leader, instead of issuing orders that could hurt the struggle for its cause.

“We are still in Nigeria. You must count one before counting two. Why don’t we pursue the release of Nnamdi Kanu because he is our son, and every Igbo man is concerned about his condition? Why not pursue referendum for Biafra to give people opportunity to vote Yes or No to Biafra agitation? If we stop reciting national anthem, how has it helped the agitation for Biafra?”

Mr. Ndudi Onyekachi, a community leader in Enugwu Agidi, Njikoka local government area observed that it was IPOB’s hardline position that brought the entire South East to its knees, resulting in the burning down of police stations in parts of the geopolitical zone.

“This threat is bound to heighten insecurity in the South East and it is coming at a time the people were recovering from the activities of the unknown gunmen and the effects of the Monday sit-at-home.

“This latest threat will pitch the Biafra agitators against the security operatives and the insecurity it would generate would result in another negative impact on the people,” Onyekachi said.

Another respondent, Kingsley Abadom who is resident in Awka urged IPOB members to stop toying will the lives of the people of the South East, adding that banning cow meat when there is no alternative did not make any sense. He advised the agitators to be reasonable in whatever decisions they take on behalf of the people, arguing that the economy of the South East has been on the decline since IPOB intensified its activities.

However, in his own reaction, the Rector, Alive Theological Seminary of Nigeria, Prof. Emmanuel Uzoma said his family stopped buying cow meat four years ago. According to him, his household could do without cow meat as long as there is goat meat, chicken and fish. Uzoma, Prelate of Christ Victorious Alive Revival Mission, Owerri, believes the Igbo can produce enough meat to feed themselves.

“When you slap a child, what do you expect him to do? Not to cry? How can you comfortably sing the national anthem in a country that does not recognize you? You can’t patronize your enemy who wants you to die. They should eat their cow; we have native cows, we have goats, we can do without it.

“The Igbo are good farmers, we don’t need their food, let them take their food. In my family, for the past four years, my wife has stopped buying cow meat. We don’t eat cow meat, except when we eat outside and they happen to cook with cow meat. We make soup with goat meat, chicken or fish. If every other Igbo man would stop eating cow, that will be better. We are good farmers, we won’t die of hunger. We can create something out of nothing. But I will advise against any form of violence. We don’t need violence”, he stated.

The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, COSEYL, on its part said the order would not benefit the people of the region. Speaking with Saturday Vanguard in Owerri, COSEYL President, Goodluck Ibem, said, “it is undemocratic to ban cow meat. It is not in the interest of the Igbo people that there should be no national anthem in the southeast schools. These things will not solve our problems, instead it will worsen the whole thing. Rather we should look inwards and resolve our problems.

“IPOB is chasing shadows when you say people should stop eating cow meat or there should not be any national anthem. It will not solve any of our problems, it will not enhance the future of the people of the South-East people and it is not in the interest of the economy of the Igbo people.”

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2022/01/ban-of-national-anthem-cow-meat-dont-jeopardize-your-case-wabara-cautions-ipob/
The above political postering has two voices of reason. The voices of Senator Adolphus Wabara and Prof. Emmanuel Uzoma were loads of maturity and intellect. The other voices in the piece sounded childish and hungry. One idiot called Emmanuel Agomuo talked about enforcement of law or lack thereof. How were decrees pronounced by IPOB being enforced?

Politics › Re: Resign Now, You Are A Failure - Imo APC Tells Rochas Okorocha by Idiko1: 9:46am On Jan 08, 2022
BeeBeeOoh:
The All Progressives Congress, APC, Imo State chapter has urged Senator Rochas Okorocha, a former governor of Imo State to consider the option of resigning as a Senator representing Imo West having shown unpardonable incompetence.

The party hinged its call for Okorocha’s resignation on what it described as poor and dismal performance in the Senate.

The state chairman of APC, Hon Macdonald Ebere stated this in a statement signed by Cajetan Duke, the Publicity Secretary of the party in the State.

The ruling APC said, “Imo people have had enough of Okorocha and his family, who they consider as unfit to occupy any public office in Nigeria anymore given their poor and dismal performance in the State.

“Our party condemns without reservations the futile attempt by Senator Rochas Okorocha to vilify the Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma on Arise Television interview with wild claims, accusations and allegations filled with hate and vehemence.

“Instead of presenting himself as a good ‘Presidential material,’ Okorocha is busy carrying on in a brazen manner, marring his chances, rubbishing himself by trying to tarnish the image of Governor Uzodinma with fabricated lies, unsubstantiated accusations and fabrications like the alleged Hope Strike Force.

“We are aware that Okorocha is a master of Ostrich politics and grandstanding, which he used to deceive Imo people for eight locust-infested years but this time he has failed.

“Indeed, if Okorocha has serious or incriminating evidence against Governor Uzodinma, we thought the best place to report to is the Police and not mass media.

“For the umpteenth time, Gov Hope Uzodinma has stated that he has nothing personal against Okorocha but only bent on actualizing the mandate of the people.”

The party further called on Okorocha to refrain from his distractions and allow Governor Uzodinma to focus on delivering good governance to Imo people.

ajibola1979:
http://www.theadvocate.ng/magodo-supreme-court-judgement-and-the-burden-of-truth/

Tuesday, the media was awashed with the story of “an unnamed Chief Superintendent of Police who declined Governor Sanwoolu’s Order to remove Police men from Magodo”

A lot of commentators have said his refusal was a slap on the Governor, but they never gave time to think that what happened yesterday was a triumph of our constitution.

I will explain.

In 1984 when the Military Government of Lagos state demolished the property of Shangisha Landlord Association without compensating them, instead of resulting to self help the association went to court.

The Lagos state high court ruled against Lagos state and said the association was entitled to right of first choice allocation of 549 plots. Instead of Lagos state to accept the verdict of the court in good faith, they decided to appeal the judgment. As at that time, there were less than 100houses compared with 6,000 houses today.

Since Lagos state has gone on appeal, was it not right for them to halt allocation or reserve 549 plots in case they fail at court?

Lagos state lost the appeal in 1992. Should Lagos State at this point not have called for a negotiation? No Lagos state did not do this because the thinking of Lagos State is that no citizen should be able to win lagos state in court. The interesting thing is at the court of Appeal, the Justice that gave the lead judgment against Lagos State is an indigene of Lagos state, Justice Oguntade.

Lagos State did not accept the ruling l, so they went to supreme Court, and in year 2012, Lagos state failed at the supreme court, the court of final decision.

Since the association will require Lagos High Court to issue a writ of execution. Lagos state frustrated the issuance of same. The Association petitioned the Chief Justice of Nigeria who then sent a query to the then Chief Judge Atilade who then issued a the writ of execution. Again Lagos state did not accept defeat, they went ahead to cause division amongst the association and aided a fall out faction to get a Lagos State Judge loyal to Lagos state Justice Adebiyi to set aside a writ of execution granted by the chief Judge. Another petition was written against Justice Adebiyi, but on the day she was to attend to her petition at NJC in Abuja, she cried her heart out that she was about to lose her job and through the intervention of Mr. Olanipekun SAN lawyer to the association, then the petition was withdrawn and her job was saved. Later the Association found out they were deceived.

After all said and done In 2019, the association decided to write a fresh petition to the Attorney General of the Federation to give a legal advise. The AGF contacted the supreme court to find out if the judgment was indeed true after finding out the authenticity of the judgment. The AGF wrote to the Lagos State Attorney General Mr. Moyosore Onigbanjo on why the association has not been allocated 549 plots. Lagos state responded by saying they have not been able to identify those they were to give the land to. The AGF got back to the association with response of Lagos State. The association made themselves available to Lagos state. The AGF after waiting for 18months for Lagos state to meet with the association towards resolving the issue, but to no avail, issued a legal advise that the association is entitled to 549 plots in Magodo and the Police should protect them towards peaceful allocation of their Land.

On the 16th of November, 2021. The Inspector General of Police wrote a letter to the Governor informing him on police intention to come and levy execution. The IGP waited for more than a month and there was no response from the Governor. So on the 21st of December, 2021 the policemen moved into magodo.

On the the 22nd of December, 2021 the Governor called the IGP to stop the execution and remove his men. IGP accepted to stop the execution but the men would still remain until the Governor resolve the issue.

After 2 weeks there was no call for meeting with the association, the Magodo Resident Association suspecting there may be continuation of the execution, came out on the 4th of January, 2022 to protest and this led to the Governor coming to Magodo.

Now the Governor is in Magodo. Issues arising.

1. Was the Governor right in telling the CSP to call the IGP? No because the Gocernor had already called the AGF.

2. Can a CSP call the IGP? No by command structure a junior officer on battlefield can not call his boss to change instruction it will take the same senior officer to call the junior officer to step down.

The CSP can never have the IGP number let alone of calling him. If he is going to call he will first call his Assistant commissioner of Police, The AC will call his commissioner of Police , The CP will call the Assistant Inspector General of Police and the AIG will call the DIG and the DIG call the IG. This explains why the CSP said he was too little to call the IGP.

Secondly, it is instructive to hear the Governor telling the CSP that if he should place the call to both the IGP and the AGF it will be tougher for the CSP.

Interestly, the Governor came out from the call and his countenance changed and affirmed that the association were his subject; the same association two weeks ago they had threatened to prosecute for criminal charges.

What truth did the governor hear from the IGP and the AGF that weakened him. Story for another day.

However, it has taken this action and 38 years for Lagos state to call this meeting with the association. Most of the members of the association died in time and are not able to witness this day. But to those who are alive to see this day, this is a triumph to our constitution, triumph to the rule of law and triumph to human rights that when all have failed in the state we can call on federal to intervene.

God bless Lagos and Good bless Nigeria.

Signed.

The Peacemaker.
