Treasury Bills have been stopped for a few weeks now. The last time I bought was late December. Tried buying again few weeks ago and was told it was no longer available for individuals who have less than 150million to invest. Access and First Bank gave same information. Stop spreading fake news. Nobody comes here to show off but if it will convince your arrogant self I will post the investment here.

I had 15m in stanbic and I withdrew 5k thrice within the month and no interest was paid. That’s why I had to just go for 336 days because I know I may still do transfer from the account. |

DaBogu: Dr. Tayo Oyedeji @tayooye Compound interest is a double-edged sword that LIFTS investors and KILLS borrowers.
INVESTMENT: 100k @ 10% per annum = 2millon at retirement (30 years)
LOAN: 100k @ 2% per month = 124m (same period).
Fools borrow to sustain their lifestyle; wise people invest into their lives. 3 lessons.
1. Invest. Compound interest makes investment a necessity for anyone who hopes to retire in the future.
2. Run from debt. High interest rates + compound interest makes most loans unsustainable in Africa.
3. Relative value. Very often. Investment return < loan rate. Many small investors don’t see this. And it keeps them stagnant. The painful thing there is that they think they are growing. |

Poanan: I don;t think there is any reason to panic. Argentina postponed the repayment of a debt from IMF. Nigeria once approached international bodies to forgive our debts during Obasanjo's regime.
International debt is completely different from national debt. We must compare apples to apples. I tot I was the only one seeing it differently. International debt is quite different from this panic u guys are spreading here |

ibechris: *Monkey Business*
A lot of monkeys lived near a village.
One day a merchant came to the village to buy the monkeys.
He announced that he would buy the monkeys for £100 each.
The villagers thought he was mad.
They thought how can somebody buy stray monkeys for £100 each?
Still, some people caught a few monkeys and gave them to the merchant and he gave them £100 for each monkey.
This news spread like wildfire and more people caught more monkeys to sell to the merchant.
After a few days, the merchant announced that he would buy monkeys for £200 each.
Even the lazy villagers now ran around to catch the remaining monkeys and sold them for £200 each.
Then the merchant announced that he will buy monkeys for £500 each.
The villagers started to lose sleep! They caught six or seven monkeys, which was all that was left, and got £500 for each one.
The villagers were waiting anxiously for the next announcement.
Then the merchant said he was going home for a week and when he returned he would buy monkeys for £1,000 each.
He asked his employee to take care of the monkeys he bought.
The merchant went home and the villagers were very sad as there were no more monkeys left for them to sell at £1,000 each.
Then the employee told them he will secretly sell them monkeys for £700 each.
This news spread like wildfire. Since the merchant will buy monkeys for £1,000 each, there is a £300 profit for each monkey.
The next day the villagers made a queue near the monkey cage.
The employee sold all the monkeys for £700 each. The rich bought monkeys in big lots. The poor borrowed money from money lenders and also bought monkeys.
The villagers took care of the monkeys and waited for the merchant to return.
But nobody came.
They ran to the employee.
But he had already left too.
The villagers then realised that they had bought the useless stray monkeys for £700 each and were unable to sell them.

emmanuelewumi: Treasury Bill, bonds, Eurobond, money market funds, real estate, personal business, stock market, jobs are all Investment vehicles and none is superior to the other because they serve different purposes.
To move from point A to B, we have bicycles, motor bikes, cars, truck, lorry, boat, trailer, train, aeroplane, ship. What will determine our mode of transportation from point A to point B is the distance, terrain, sizes of our luggage etc. None of the vehicles is better than the other because they have different purposes, their suitability is determined by circumstantial variables.
Same with the various Investments and asset classes. Exactly |

Just some months back some where criticizing buildings as bad investments as compared to treasury bills. Now that treasury bills is experiencing all time low interest rates , they won’t see it as vacancy rate as compared to building/rent. If I had abandoned my project by now all these cash flows coming in this January won’t have been possible. Would have been looking at the cash in the bank waiting for CBN policy to be reversed. |

@emma, you are pulling my legs out into stocks anyways I love ur investment pattern, I will dedicate my free 50k every month to picking stocks. First of all, I have three questions: (1) How do I get these companies reports even if its e-copy (2) I have some shares with fidelity, could remember it was first bank that sold them. Does that mean they are my brokers or just agents? Becos even the e-dividends registration I did it tru then (3) In your opinion, as a newbie which brokers do you recommend? |

I will advise you to invest half of the money on FG bonds and remaining half on money market funds, till you have an idea of what you can invest in. At least this will give you about N1million per annum, that is about 83k per month Good advice. I love this guy |

To accurately diagnose a concept, we should always hmwait out to get intricate details and operational concepts.

healthserve: Rules for man. And not otherwise. As long as they're no fixed rules, it can be anything. Dangote is starting with a massive refinery. I wonder if he wouldn't have set the bar lower if he listened to speculators.
Speculating is good but not entirely healthy. While it can be speculated to fail, it's a 50-50,it could suceed. More so, I'm a firm believer in experiences that people shouldn't hold back in life but launch as whatever gains or loss experienced also comes with exponential positive experiences that would have not been learnt if people withhold by " skepticism". So it can be four, it can be 40. As long as risk appetite accommodates complete loss while chasing green bars And Dangote is going to give the refinery to me to run for him so that I can balance him. My friend the two scenarios are parallel lines jor |
