yes. age and sex are very well considered above everything else. Im not too certain about this but am sure thats what obtainable. Lets all hope and pray for the best, Regards |
thank you young babe. Its always good not to peddle rumours especially without facts. Its always good to have a balanced and well respresented part of every story. genevieve is the greatest nigerian export as far as movies are concerned. Nobody can take that away from her. She is versatile, bold, dogged and talented. |
@ yomex Please how old are you? I learnt that younger females are always considered before older males. Am 28 years. I did apply with my originals. My last application was with photocopies. I reckoned that since they request 3 months to process that I dont need to apply with the originals.I even learnt that photocopies submitted should be certified/notarized. My application was returned in 3 weeks. That was july last year. Am only a bit apprehensive because this is actually the first time I will be applying with my original documents. there will always be this issue of safety and security of original documents. |
Amen!! It is well |
@ Adewale I like that university. u are lucky yo have full scholarship. saves you tons of cash. I like that |
adewale which university did u apply to in canada and which province is it?? |
@ adewale I understand how u feel. I am in a mix too. i have admission to dundee for something similar but this long wait is the one I dont understand. Dont be weary or give up now. Im sure something good will come out of this. So when do u suggest we pay them a visit? If our program is for august ending, by now they should have said something to us. i have the feeling its gonna this week so lets brace up and be optimistic ok? regards |
@ yomex thats scary. So u are certain nothing will happen to the documents?? what if it gets lost or damaged on transit?? I will have to wait till 28th. If I get no response from them before then I will go to the embassy to enquire. My class starts in august 28 with a week orientation. and I learnt the orientation is compulsory. I only hope and pray for the best this week. |
@ yomex did u apply with the original documents?? |
@ Dio Nice story but how can he possibly give u a 10 year visa on a passport with 5 years validity?? |
@ texazzpete The embassies are mandated to provide a good reception area for visitors. Go and check well. Maybe the space allcated for visa seekers might be insufficievnt to accommodate the large numbers of nigerians who troop everyday. There is always a reception area for peple seeking for visas. Have u applied for visas outside the country before? do u notice the ambience when u enter the reception?? The reason its not replicated here is because we are too frustrated hussling for visa to notice they have reneged on the agreement with the nigerian people. Do u see the ugly trucks julius berger uses to ferry its workers?? In Europre you cannot try that. Dont come here telling me that julius berger is not supposed to provide a dignifying mode of tansport for her workers afterall they owe us nothing. Please and please |
@yomex what financial doculents did the embassy request for at the interview? |
@yomex4ever Auch that hurts. goodluck with the application. This waiting for almost 56 days na waoh. I have not contacted them though but i will reserve my energy for the last week of july when i intend to pay them a visit. |
we have to wait till month end.maybe go there the last week of july. |
ah ah. lol please there is an underscore after the coper ooo i dont know where that line is from. lol |

@CJAO 00 the opdds are stacked high against you. At 25 you may not be able to satisfy the visa officer that you are going to study. what have you been doing since?? At 25 most people have graduated or about to graduate from the university. you must come up with a very very very convincing reason why you have not completed your undergradaute study in Nigeria not to talk of canada |

this is sad. real sad. the circumstances of her death has not been made public so I will refrain from making hasty conclusioins. Im sure that the woman must have known she had a medical problem, maybe her heart or high blood pressure. If not, then her death from exhaustion is totally unacceptable. The embassies operating in Nigeria owe us the duty to provide a comfortable environment for visa applicants. I recal with nostalgia the days of the famous american visa era when people come as early as 1am to queue for visa. This is absurd and must be condemned. I wish her soul eternal rest while i urge both the government and the embassy to do something about this disgraceful conduct. |
please anybody heard anything as regards applications for study permit for september 2008 ![]() |
@ Goldcircle after you were denied, did you make any international travel? Did u apply intially with a virgin passport? |
@ Adewale My application is now 52 days old. Your friend in accenture that was denied when did he apply?? |
thank God they are not nigerians |
@ All Yes I agree that some Nigerians behave in ways that are not expected. The IO officers also behave in ways not expected of them. Some denials just dont make sense. I will leave it at that. I think the canadian office is more disposed to fresh gradsuates especially females. at least thats the trend cos all the people that have gotten so far are young graduates. |
@ Kaysie thanks for the advise. Let me contact them to see what they will say |
@ goldcircle LOL!! maybe when i get that desperate, i will go hussle for a boswanian passport. LOL!!! My only regret is that my admission will be rovoked if I dont appear for classes this august. I would have to reapply afresh. |
@ goldcircle Meanwhile is it advisable to go to ghana for canadian study permit?? Someone in my office told me she was referred back to nigeria after she went to ghana for a visit visa. I thought its only for permanent residents?? |
@ goldcircle. My neice that works for a canadian firm here in lagos came home some months ago with a long drawn face. When i enquired from her the reason for her dejected stance, she informed me that her canadian oga was bringing in some canadians to take over some sensitive positions in the firm, and that if that happens, she will either be demoted or maybe asked to resign. After the usual assurances I told her to keep the faith and maybe start looking for another job. Four months later she was promoted. Ah Ah I was amazed. I asked her whats up. She gleefully told me that the entire crew of canadians were denied visas from the Nigerian embassy in ottawa. They applied again and the ten of them were denied yet again. whats good for the goose is also good for the gander. The government of Canada is also aware of this visa issue raging between both countries. |
nothing happened. the old haggard plane oovershot the run way by a few meters and no one was hurt. |
The canadian embasy here in nigeria recently denied supreme court justices visa to attend a conference in canada. They equally denied our olympic contestants visa to attend a sporting session in canada. Ask jacinta our ambassador to canada and she will tell you that Nigeria has already bugun pushing back against canada on the visa front. I agree with adewale. canadian embassy here is racist and this difficulty with getting a visa to study is not because of any deficiency in our applications but largely because of the disposition of the visa officers in charge. It was a mistake I made to choose canada to study. This is day 51 after my applicaton and no word from them. I hate feeing this helpless and im tensed to hell. God help me!!!!!!!!! |
@ Delta. My brother, am just aggrieved. Its been 50 days since I applied for a study permit. This wait is breaking cos I cannot do anything till the outcome. My rent is due in 9 days. So what do i do ?My collegue flatly refused to apply with me to go to canada. She said she does not have the time to waste on canadian shakara. She left 3 days ago for her MBA in the U.S. For those of us that are very agressive with our careers, time is everything. I cannot afford to waste a year. I so regret not pursuing my University of Florida MBA program to its conclusion. I rather opted for canada because of my scholarship. But right now , i do not care anymore. Id rather spend my money where I know I will eventually get value for it. I hope that people that are gearing up for a program in canada would drop it and go to the US or Uk or somewhere else. Their shakara is just too much!!! |
