there you go again waging insults at everyone in the typical south african style. weather or not you are correct with your observation TRUTH is that your country is a crime ridden and violence infested area. Did I tell you a south african visa was literally shoved down my throat and I still REFUSED to visit? I cannot forget my last experience in that country.
I really do not know what to blame but you south africans need a lot of JESUS.
Travel / Re: Arik Air Is A Hoax And A Scam! by igbogolo: 6:58pm On Jan 09, 2009
@ Nemeziz9ja
my dear you were told to top up the fare at the airport. so its not a scam. arik as it stands can barely keep up with passenger demand in Nigeria. So If you presuppose that the low online fare is designed to lure passengers to arik then you are not making any point.
you would have made a point if the online fare were above the OTC fare but unfortunately in your situation that was not the case.
so leave it at that okay.
Travel / Re: Arik Air Is A Hoax And A Scam! by igbogolo: 7:24pm On Jan 02, 2009
@ All.
Happy new year people. I pray 2009 heralds our explosion into fotune, goodhealth and hope.
The topic of this thread I understand is that Arik is a hoax and a scam because the online booking price is different from the OTC price by two thousand and something naira.
Now am not holding brief for arik, but this mild differential in pricing does not in any way warrant brandishing arik as a hoax!
The proper topic would have been about arik's online pricing and not arik air in its entirety. Thats my problem.
Arik air in NOT a hoax and a scam because the company is very visible offering pride to the country and our citizens and spreading the wings of Nigeria as far as UK heathrow.
I have booked online for arik to Abuja before. Everyhthing went smoothly. I have also booked aero online severally and everything went ok. I just made sure I arrived on time to confirm my booking. shekina! One experience in my reckoning does not warrant the raher outlandish topic.

@ Viiviko.
My darling, december was hot my dear. Aero was booked full till the 27th. If you missed your flight due to fault of yours someone on waiting list will take your place. If there are no absentee passengrs the nest day, who do you blame.
If you want to try what I have said, miss your international flight and see weather your anger airrline will put you in the next hour flight and prodd you lovingly on your way in 3 hours. just try it and come and tell us here okay?
I travelled to abuja from lagos on the 23rd on afrijet airlines. we were turned back to the tarmac after 9 minutes airborne due to bad weather in abuja. That was a professional thing to do and nobody complained.
My dear overbooking happens everywhere even on your angel airlines.
Truth is our local airlines are not as shitty as some of us may want to potray them and most of our local airlines are even better that local trips abroad.

This is a losers forum. Just that you were denied visa you sulk on the web. Na by force? Na by force say you must go to the UK? How can you fight to enter someones house when the owner of the house doesnt want you there. If you intended going to the Uk for visit why not go somewhere else more welcoming and friendly. AH!!!
Boycott ke?? LOL!!

@ Siena hunn.
Am the least surprised at your post. When I read the original post something inside me told me you would comment and you did.
The websit issue does not in any way warrant calling ariK air a hoax on the web. I think the topic is a bit sensational.
Ariks feat in the past few months especially the new routes launched with a brand new airbus A340-500 will rigourously rebuff any ( if any) hitches with website and pricing.
Running an airline is complex. people have their luggage stolen at heathrow through lapses by handlers attached to almighty Bad Attitude airlines.
The other day an oxygen bottle exploded in a Quantas aircraft critically injuring passengers and damaging the boeing 747. No hel was let loose.
Abegiii let arik air be oooh.

If the old passport isnt available, does he still have the passport number? does he have a copy of the bio page? let him get a police statement and attach the copy of the bio page of the old passport to the afidavit. that ends the issue about the old passport.
Travel / Re: Uk Student Re-application by igbogolo: 3:41pm On Dec 11, 2008
hello.
am no visa agent but i must agree your case is a bit complex. the ECO will need a lot of convincing to persuade him to reconsider you without recourse to your previous application.
As this case is, I bet the best option is to reapply stating the TRUTH and nothing but the TRUTH. I think it makes your case more genuine and persuasive.

I was denied visas to the UK sometime in 2003. I went to the american embassy and was denied also. my passport then expired and I got another one. I had the option of reapplying to the UK embassy without the old one but |I told them I was denied visa to the US because the visa officers felt i would not come back to Nigeria. I was given Uk visa. I now have a 5 year UK visa on my passport.

Please tell the truth.

@damsy07, look i am very surprise that we still have ppeople like you who believe abroad is better than naija, i have been to over 15 countries in the course of my working for one of the biggest oil companies in the world operating in naija i have met friends who left naija early enough as at when we graduated in 2000,but the question now what are they doing abroad?i am 100% comfortable here at home, i might not be rich but atleast i don't have to wash dead bodies, sweep, clean glasses or even arrange fake marriages all in the name of stabilizing, yes they all went abroad before me but they are either just in one country and never moved,i am home and have gone way far ahead i cried when i met a medical doctor who clean shoe abroad, haba health system in naija might be bad but i tell you if that guy happen to be in naija by now i am sure one these might must have loan him to set up a clinic, naija is improving it might not be the best yet but we will get there,go and read what GABY said,he actually said it all and let me ask a question if abroad is betetr why do i still go abroad and spend so much for my friends that has been there for years, they even envy me and i still wonder why

@ carnal, I find it hard to believe you are telling the truth.

@ diggler

Did you check the countries counted with Nigeria in that merryl lynch report before pasting your comment on the ''parked nigerian economy'?
if Nigeria is in the same list as Indonesia, china and india then your theory buckles before falling flat on its face.
I really do not understand why Nigeria bashing has become a favourite pasttime for Nigerians, Its so amazing. i really think this country is an investor haven and we really do not need a merryl lynch report to inform us.
Travel / Uk Online Application Important Tip by igbogolo: 12:31pm On Nov 17, 2008
Guys,
I learnt thet the UK online visa application is a trap. The soft ware is designed to capture every answered question even deleted ones. I learnt from a very authoritative source that the ECO's visit deleted responses to the questions therein and its easy for them to actually verify people that vacillate with their responses.
To be safe, he advised we try to be straight and answer the questions without ''filling a yes here, deleting it for a no, and then filling a yes for the same question'' whatever t hat means,
Travel / Re: What Do Nigerians Think Of Australia? by igbogolo: 12:47pm On Nov 15, 2008
blackspade:

I know this may sound a bit ignorant, but from the many articles I've read, along with the experiences people of color have been through in Australia, it gives me the notion that racism is prevalent in Australian society. The government seems like they support open discrimination when it comes to immigration (refugees to be exact), when they blatantly discriminated against African refugees awaiting relocation, because of a few bad apples in Brisbane. They decided to decrease the number of African refugees from 70% to 30%, favoring Asian and European refugees no longer in conflict zones.

To sum it up bluntly, I don't really like Australia, but it looks nice. Thanks.

@blackspade
There is racism everywhere. Thank God for Obama, the black man now has a face.
Immigration of blacks to australia was open until they had a few black immigrants that could not integrate. Australians wrote that 'blacks dont fit in well like others', whatever that means. but the question is ''what kind of blacks were those''?
i have lived with a few australians. they are nice. also australia has a great number of nigerian PROFESSIONALS. so i think if you are a skilled immigrant that can fill a certainm need in australia without having problems with crime and drugs, then i do not see why you will not be considered.
Leave racism out of the matter. every country has the right to protect its interest. so if its in australias interest to bar blacks of dubious character, then so be it,

I did not read the post. I wonder how a government that cannot conduct a credible head count here in Nigeria would dream of doing so in the US. Is this another ploy to spend tax payers money? of what use would they put the figure generated? Who rreally wants to know how many nigerians are in theUS? Stupid policy makers we have are at work again. nonsense.

@ kennis

congratulations on your acceptance. Canadian embassy here in Nigeria is a nightmare. I think you are already running late. The visa officers are extremely laidback and clumsy.
If you are outside the country , your case might be processed before 2 months or less but for naija,, Hmmm I cannot guarantee.
Can you try global visas? they help get visas for people and the process is faster, they operate from the UK and they have a higher success rate. Am not sure of their website address but it wont hurt you to search.

Goodluck with your application.

broe, you have a lot of fire in that mouth of yours. I think we are overflogging this siena issue. he is not the essence of this thread and rubbing on the same issue will only draw attention.
he does not feel like coming back to nigeria. maybe he could not make it here or something. u never can tell why a nigerian can turn his back to his country. although many nigerians transverse the globe, they eventually come back someday. either as old bones or in cheap coffins but they definetely find their way back sometime, somehow

so relax okay? siena will have good songs to sing about this country soon.
Travel / Re: What The Heel Are U Guys Doing Oversea by igbogolo: 2:55pm On Oct 06, 2008
@ tipia.

I know how you feel but siena to me is just a lone voice in the desert. there are plenty others out there including foreigners that have something fantastic to say about nigeria and nigerians. He is just a figure and am sure that whatever negative perceptions he may have of Nigeria pales into insignificance when you compare it with others that hav positive experiences.

Some people, even citizens of 1st world countries have disowned their countries. there might be something there, maybe a betrayal not necessarily from the country but from personal experiences with people, relations, services and institutions. until you know what the actual problem is, you may never be able to understand why some people feel the way they do

that does not make siena a terrible and unreasonable person. I think he needs to be healed of his negative perception of nigeria and we need a lot of patience to turn him around.

or siena dont you think so, ?
