@kadman

can u read her post??

she wrote that arik is an 'evil or potential evil airline'. do you agree with that as well
its not about showing intolerance for dissenting opinions, its all about being honest.
i have flown arik and i have heard so many other people that have travelled with arik that the airline is definately not a bad offering on the london route. and yes, she does not know what she is talking about.

you do not know what you are talking about.
and i also doubt if you have flown arik to the UK.
could you explain the problem with the arik service here? what lesser evil are you talking about
Arik offering to the UK in my opinion is the best for now.
if your life is too precious to toy with, kindly fly foreign airlines and leave our arik for us

Dora does not deserve all the bashing here. its very possible for people to mae mistakes. even obama flopped his swearing in ceremony.
lets ot be in a rush to forget what dora did in nafdac. infrmation ministry is a different kettle of fish altogether. there is no way politics wont be a domineering factor in any infomation ministry.
she has raised uthe bar so high and she became a victim of her success in nafdac

have you flown arik at all to london? If you have, you would not make this statement.
Please arik air is NOT in the same category as bellview. Branding both airlines togeter is sheer injustice. service offering on arik is even better than some foreign airlines.
I can see bellviewsdemise coming if they do not urgently address these issues. but i still hav ethe feeling that people will still patronise them because of the cheap fares.

Does anyone remenber OKADA AIR? I saw pictures of the rotting airframes in benin airport and I cried. Do you know OKADA was flying to armsterdam, UK, even america in the early nineties. if it were properly managed, OKADA would have surpassed emirates and Qatar put together. I just do not understand how okada vapourized.
The same is happening to bellview. early 2002, bellview was an elitist airline. now it has been reduced tp crap. slowly, slowly, its moving towards the exit door. shame. people that take customers for granted never make it. but i still wonder how BA is stilkl in business even with their crappy service,
Travel / Re: Don't Fly Bellview! by igbogolo: 5:43pm On Sep 03, 2009
@utomixxxx
I am a regular flier with EAS airlines mainly in 2004 when I was serving in Jos. I think their service was not too bad. I think EAS pilots are extremely competent and they can fly the old planes very well. same with chanchangi and aero. Arik local pilots remain the worst. however when Jimoh Ibrahim came with his nicon, I must admit service delivery suffered greatly.
What exactly do u mean by 'the plane almost crashed'? planes loose altitude if there is turbulence in the air. if that turbulence is enough to disrupt airflow especially in the airfoils, a plane can experience drag, lose lift and altitude. This can happen to any plane anywhere. So far , there has not been any significant difference in local travels abroad and in Nigeria. I am saying this from experience. where the problem is is mainly on international routes. aero for instance matches any local flight in the UK and US. Yes, aero is that good!!!
Travel / Re: Bellview: The Worst Airline In Nigeria. Don't Try It! by igbogolo: 11:10am On Sep 03, 2009
I do agree with naija babe. US airlines are equally crappy in service delivery. they sell everything down to toilet paper. the so called delta did not mee my expectations. they are very crappy.

As for hell view airlines, its still a rsounding NO from me. I hope their maagement is reading this though,
Travel / Re: Bellview: The Worst Airline In Nigeria. Don't Try It! by igbogolo: 3:19pm On Sep 01, 2009
@ odum,

Thank you but eh mmm, fly bellview? hell NO!!!
Arik is a nigerian airline too. there is a huge void between the offering of both carriers. There is absolutely no reason for any sane person to fly international on bellview airlines. There are serious safety and service issues with international trips on bellview.
yes air france crashed, but we all know that air france is top notch when safety issues are involved. did u not hear that the pitot tubes that were suspected to cause the crash are under investigation and all tubes on airbus A330 are currently being replaced? it seems it was a manufacturers problem and not safety issue related to lack of or improper maintenance.
bringing in Boeing 767-300ER makes no difference. Who flies 767's anyway? Ethopian?
Please lets leave sentiments out of this. if bellview makes strong efforts to keep up to international standards especially in CUSTOMER SERVICE am sure this thread wont be this long.
they should simply emulate arik air

& All

Its really sad to read about poor service delivery from Nigerian airlines. Sometine in 2004, I was called a 'zombie' by an airhost working for sosoliso airlines. I stood petrified and speechless for 5 minutes. I kept staring at him, a thousand questions boiling in my head, until my mom screams roused me out of my mental stupor. 'Ikechukwu get the bags lets go!!!!'
Like a 'zombie' that i truly wasnt, i grabbed the bags from the overhead locker and followed my mom. I was too frightened to utter my experience to anyone else. Its unbelievable.
As for bellview airlines, the hard groundnot they gave me in one of their flights shortly before the lisa crash, chipped my tooth and left me in pains for weeks. Bellview airlines was the first nigerian flight that 'shared' coke in nauseating white plastic cups. at least sosoliso used to serve eggs and plantain and potatoes in the mornings with a canned coke to go with it.
The other day, a customer has severe food poisining from eating bellview sandwich ona local flight. unfortunately for the airline, the boys mother works with WHO. A visit with policemen to bellview kitchens revealed what we all feared. the case was hushed with millions of naira.
Flying international with bellview? LOL! I no fit ooo.
Of all the airlines operating locally in Nigeria, abeg i doff my hat for aero contractors. Their service is indeed nice but there is still ample room for improvement. Internationally, i will always choose ARIK.
BA, air france and KLM is a no no no for me. Emirates gives me an erection, so does Qatar and cathy pacific, VA and lufthansa.
Politics / Re: Lagos Can’t Revert To 20 Lgs, Fashola Tells Yar’adua by igbogolo: 12:21pm On Jul 28, 2009
Guys, the issue here is that if Lagos suceeds to have the LGDA's ratified by the national assembly, the state can have the legal right to ask for more funds from the centre. this is a precedent that if not checked will lead to the scramble to have LGA's by other states in the country so as to increase revenue generation. this is the issue.
so all the hot air that yaradua is blowing is because of this and even because he has been in an open romance with obasanjo(aka lagos hater) in the recent past.
of course solutions lies with the states negotiating with the FG FIRST before creating the LGDA's. this will reduce the tension.
Again, its not the FG's purview to create LGA,s. the FG can only create states. so the FG cannot even create LGA's which is the purview of the state house of assembly.
there lies the paradox.

however we all know fashola has lagos in his heart and we are assured that the funds will be used for meaningful development.
the FG has failed on all corners. its a shame indeed!

The old passport is still valid till 2010 before the new one kicks in.
What I am not sure is the exact date in 2010. i am not sure if its July, or December 2010 but you are still free to use the old one till then.

@bobobabe

Dont bother yourself. Get a deferral letter and resubmit again. without it, you will get a deficiency sheet, but then you would have spent money sending it thru DHL as the case may be. contact your school, defer ur application and address the issues raised in the refusal letter and reapply again if u still wish.

noble_gas1:

I think you might have to conduct an opinion poll about arik air.
I am glad to announce that i flew arik to nigeria and i got hooked. the plane was crisp with world class service. and yes the plane was filled to the brim. only few spaces in the first class section.
the air hosts were multi racial( like in emirates), with very very very polite nigerian air hostesses. the economy section which i sat had
world traveller plus.
really, i do not have any reason to fly virgin atlantic to naija again or Bad Attitudes airlines and I am so glad that finally a nigerian carrier is taking its rightful place on that London route. Arik is even cheaper with free option of changing your flight date.

Keep tellin urself dat

And your point is

Travel / Re: Emirates Airline Paints Nigeria Bad On Their Website by igbogolo: 5:01pm On Jun 23, 2009
@ all,

I really think emirates overstepped its ranks by posting such travel warning on its website. Such an action can threathen tourism in Nigeria. If the embassy of the UAE decides to post a travel warning to its citizens flying into Nigeria thats a different thing. But for an airline that ferry(mostly Nigerians) to issue a warning on its website is an insult to this country.
Is there no limit to the things we take in this country? On my way back to Nigeria last 2 months, 1 hour to arrival, the BA( Gosh I hate that airline) air hostess started dishing out landing cards to everyone and informing us about having our documents ready for immigration and letting us know we should have our yellow fever cards ready for inspection. On their website, there is no such alert( I still hate BA) on travel to nigeria.
Emirates did not do well at all.
