Dis Guy: Thats valid point but is her current financial status of any benefit for his application? even if the nurse has just bought a flat in new york. the question is can she proove that she can support the application? an investment of $900 is also a pointer to her financial status. so what if she uses all her millions on recurrent expenditure and mortgage, so what proof does she have to say that she can suatain the trip? I think that he should wait till her financial situation improves |

I just wonder why the pilot was allowed to fly in such a bad weather. this is a very sad day for a very loved airline, even as they are expanding with such agressive aircraft acquisitions. too bad , just too bad. |

NordicRace: erm oga nordic race, what exactly do u mean by ' too dark to be british'? there are people of different shades and colours that are british. if u are referring to a particular race with pale sagged and wrinkled skin with long drawn nose, sorry they are extinct. they all died when the last plague visited britain. |
Travel / Re: WARNING!!!!: Everyone Please Ignore The Poster: NORDICRACE by igbogolo: 12:54pm On Jan 21, 2010 |
But wait oh, i have read some of his posts and i do not think he is that racist as made out to be. It seems to me that he succeeds in making people burst a spleen when he should have been ignored. I know it is not always good for people to hear whey like all the time, things like this coming from nordic race can help to present another picture to would be immigrants about the things they are most likely to experience in europe and the general disposition of the white people in general. they may smile at you but i know deep down in their heart, they are all the same. so let nordic race be. |

Car Talk / Re: My Steering Wheel Vibrates At High Speed by igbogolo: 12:00pm On Dec 16, 2009 |
it could be your tyres. have you considered changing the ones in front? they might look oK, but might be swollen from the inside especially if you are using winter/tokunbo tyres Then do your wheel balancing. alignment does not really cause shaking at a mere 100km/h but still do your alignment as well. if that does not stop, send a mail to honda |

wow, wow, wow. sosoliso's ROSE OF ENUGU! the first and the most cranky plane in its fleet. so sad it killed those kids and led to the demise of the airline. learnt that the accident bureau blamed weather for the crash. issue now is would this airline be able to get up again? the owner really had plans i must say. sosoliso single handedly made the lagos enugu-oweri routes and developed them when other airlines were only interested in lag-abv-phc routes. his last plane, called in God we trust was just freshly delivered before the crash. sad! all his planes has since been sold. has the airline paid compensation by the way> have not heard much from that angle since. sosoliso is one airline i miss. am sure our former minister frank nweke feels the same way too. |

really? wow. u have problems with hearing after flying IRS too? strange. the last time i flew them in 2004 or so , it was so bad i did not go to work the next monday. my ears eventually 'popped' the following day almost when i was convinced i had gone deaf. poured almost a bottle of baby oil in my ear in the process. and in most cases like 5 mins into lagos, the plane always goes into an uncontrolled dip shortly before the landing gear is released. meen , i have not flown IRS since but their landings are always quiet sha ooo. i will definitely visit the airports with my camera the next time. wow. |
Travel / Re: First Commercial Flight To Akwa-ibom From Abuja Airport (with Arik Air) by igbogolo: 12:42am On Dec 14, 2009 |
the engines in the nicon aircraft are gone. gone are the EAS/Nicon airlines glory days. nicon airways was operating the only daly service from lagos to jos. they were God at that time with the entire state and airport at their mercy. sad that jimoh could not resuscitate the airline. i still think they have the most mature and experienced pilots in nigeria followed by chanchangi airlines. |
Travel / Re: First Commercial Flight To Akwa-ibom From Abuja Airport (with Arik Air) by igbogolo: 12:34am On Dec 14, 2009 |
And yes, its very sad to see okada air in ruins. okada was operating flights to amsterdam, heathrow, paris and US in the hey days. the carcass of rotting planes in benin airport is indeed a sad commentary about the average nigerian businesses which start and end with the founder. they had so many planes , if it were properly managed by now would have become a global player. and that festac logo on their planes is beautiful. sad! do fokker airplanes have thrust reversers? IRS landings has always been very quiet though but most times i have hearing problems when i fly in those aircrafts. seems to me they have pressurization issues. please more pics in please!!!!!!! |

No, I havent But I know three people that have. Apart from using old cranky planes on their final lap from libya to lagos, and sometimes terminating in kano(instead of lagos), you should be fine. Does yemen air come to mind? Not every cheap ticket is worth considering. Since you have booked, well bon voyage! |

Travel / Re: Incredible! Aerocontractors Now Charge For In-flight Snacks by igbogolo: 10:05pm On Dec 06, 2009 |
Well, during the days of sosoliso, we normally get fresh coffee in the morning, plantain and fried egg in the afternoons and snacks for evening flights. I enjoyed the treats. also eating helps to ease tension amongst passengers that might have some phobia for flying. however, i flew business class on aero once in 2006 from lagos to enugu. i expected to be served turkey thighs and champagne. well, it was not to be. i got baked beans, fried eggs, orange juice, sausages and bread. now the issue is that aero is competing on price against a formidable arik and virgin nigeria on domestic routes. their strategy seems to mimic easy jet and ryan air who surprisingly have been recording huge profits than the mega carriers. there must be something about filling seats than flying empty on premium fares. so after almost a 70 percent slash in fares, i still shudder at the thought of still requesting for orishirishi on domestic flights in nigeria. if you no fit keep your long throat, buy your own snack. simple. aero as it is has tried. let arik and virgin follow suit. such competition is good for the flying public, and thats you and i!! |
