@ seether
its really difficult for one to help. You took time to type the ECO's response to your application without backing your claims with your own documentation.
What and what exactly did u apply with?
did u pay some of your fees before applying?
Have u travelled before? if yes, where and when
are you going for undergraduate or post graduate studies?
If undergraduate, why havent u gone to school since considering your age 25?
What relevance is your study in the UK to you or your country. Is it commensurate with the amount you will spend schooling in the UK
what program do you wish to pursue in the UK.
Please be explicit so that I and others too can contribute

fares are cheaper but the service is fantastic. but you may have to put up with the 6 hour wait in dubai.

Please people I have always maintained this, fly other airlines!!!!

Please do not waste your time. If all you said here is true, get a US lawyer and sue them.
TravelRe: Is It Right To Fly Ba Now by igbogolo: 10:09am On Sep 12, 2008
@sexybabes

Please fly airlines that treat you with respect. BA remains one airline that has consistently flounted its stomach churning discriminatory policies towards people of color.
The fact remains that other airlines offer better services for less. So please fly BA only when it remains your last option. If you have not witnessed BA rudeness, its just a matter of time.

@ Aydewale
nothings up for now oo. Gunning to resume my program at dundee this year though.

@ home
I was able to speak with an official of the canadian embassy. She made me understand how so many nigerians have disappionted them. How even the 'rich' people- the ones u will never expect to seek asylum- have gotten their assurance, gone to canada, and the next thing, they receive his asylum papers. so its become a very big issue for them here at the nigerian embassy and I will honestly advise you to try somewhere else. I was eventually told to reapply but i told them I cannot as am already two years late.
She said that at 28 years , you are no longer under parentage care( it ends at 21). so using sponsor documents from dad, mum, sister, etc wont sway anyone. She equally said that u need to proove financial ties before u are considered and having 600k( in my case) in shares wont be sufficient evidence to prrove finaicial ties even as I had up to 2 million cash.
As much as this is unreasonable, thats the position of the embassy regarding applications for study permits from here. Its unfortunate.

Since ur program is january u may reapply but at this time there can be no assurances. it will be a better option for u not to put all ur eggs in a basket so that you are not devastated if you are denied. There are other better places to study. Look around and from the way you sound, u come across as someone whose heart and soul has already gone to canada.

Thats my piece on this issue and I wish u all the luck you need to sail through. You may go ahead and get papers for land, shares etc. Its a risk but u may try it,

TravelRe: Refusal Of Visa. I Need Ur Advise-@akolawole,@london Cool,@ Vvv Justice by igbogolo: 12:17pm On Aug 15, 2008
A collegue of mine was denied visa on such flimsy grounds. he had like 280k in his current account. He then ''inflated'' his account to 500k and reapplied. He was told that the money in his account was too much!!
The visa officers take rather irrational decisions on visa applications from Nigeria. They just take time to poke us in the face.
If I were you, I will APPEAL. That shows seriousness and also seals ur genuinity.
If u reapply soon, u may appear desperate to travel hence their decision might be justified in denying you the visa in the first instance!
And if you must appeal, please request for a hearing. Your friend may represent you in the tribunal. Since you are not ''desperate'' to travel, Im sure u might survive the time it takes for the appeal to sail through.
this is my bit sha,

Goodluck!

@ All
Thanks for the encouragement
I had 1.7million in my account but also submitted shares worth 600k.
the tuition is 36,000 CAD.
I used my sister as sponsor. She had 9mil in her account. she is single.

Its a sad day for me today. I wonder why they kept me anxious for 70 days.
Chei!!!

@ Aydewale
Thanks Bro.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada by igbogolo: 2:28pm On Aug 01, 2008
@ all
my application was returned today
It was denied.
The reasons given are:

1. That I do not have enough money to take care of my education.
2. That I am not a bona fide student (again).
3. That I will not return to nigeria after my studies(again).
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada by igbogolo: 11:50am On Aug 01, 2008
@ home1986
Shebi they returned ur application over issues with the bank draft after 3 weeks?
Thats the problem. They will still require at least 3 months to 'process' that application irrespective of the fact that u had submitted 2nd June. Call your school, request for a back up latter. Let them extend your resumption date. Contact your international office. Send mails. Call.
Do it now!!!
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada by igbogolo: 11:33pm On Jul 31, 2008
@ azimt and all

I must admit this whole thing has become a bit emotional for me. Yes,last year i was told im not a ''bonafide'' student and that I will not come back after my studies. Applying for a visa now requires ones soul. its so sapping, so engaging, so difficult.
Azimit dont worri maybe there is an unseen hand in their decision. Just pause and listen, God might be talking to you.

Thanks all for all the encouragement. There were days i really looked foward to reading a comment from any one of us. I feel like calling a get together party.

Mine is now 65 days no response. God im tired!!!

@ adewale
they would have paid salaries by the time u go right?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada by igbogolo: 8:32pm On Jul 24, 2008
@ adewale

u may just unject funds into your account then go with additional documents from the office. but u need to increase the liquid cash at your disposal. maybe if u can make the money 1.8million or 2 million, that will be ok. u can just borrow the cash and pay it in in medium instalments.
yes, if u transfer cash into ur account, it will reflect by wed next week when u go for interview. so u have to start putting the money asap.

my opinion sha,
