onepluone:Do you know the mindset of the average Ijaw towards the Igbo? I can assure you that it's not too far off from that of Yorubas, ofcourse there are Ijaws that are pro Igbo or just indifferent to the Igbo, but a large number of the average Ijaws still suffer from innate Igbophobia, rooted on falsehoods passed down to them by their parents about the Igbo. I have noticed that most of these Igbo freedom seeking groups like IPOB and MASSOB hardly do their home works well, they just sit in the comfort of their homes and start drawing maps and lumping groups into the Igbo project without even trying as small as possible to gather intelligence on the sentiments prevalent amongst these groups towards the Igbo. You can join Ijaw/Izon Facebook groups, there are many of them, and closely study the Igbophobic sentiments of most of their youths, then you pity IPOB and them Rest that are building castles on the air. You see those people as brothers/ neighbors, they see you as a wolf in sheep clothing closing in to take their lands and crude oil (that currently don't belong to them) from them. They don't see you any different from Hausas and Yorubas, they see your plan of trying to build a nation with them, as you trying to displace their current masteers( North) that control their oil and replacing them( North) as their new masters in your new phantom republic. Most of them have phantom stories handed down to them by their lying parents, of the Igbo attempt to kill them all or relocate them from their oil lands and replacing them with Igbos. They even have absurd stories of Igbos phantom failed attempt at renaming their towns by giving them Igbo New names. And these ones on facebook are the educated ones amongst them that should know better, yet they hold strong to those absurd, unsubstantiated falsehoods handed down to them about Ndiigbo by their parents, you can only shiver at the thought of what the bizarre falsehoods the uneducated ones amongst them in the villages hold towards the Igbo would look like. Brother, if you visit those Facebook pages, your outlook of things will change, if you see the amount of hate those peeps have for us, you will have no option but to return it to them in hundred folds, and you will come to take the stance that I am currently taking on this issue. |
I think we should restrict it to an Igbo speaking thing, and keep the door open for selected surrounding groups with shared ideology as Ndiigbo, groups like ethnic nationalities in present Akwa Ibom and Cross rivers, the Ogonis, Andoni, Opobo. That way we wouldn't introduce fifth columnist into the struggle, it would also help in eliminating ambiguities. |
iamDiabolic:You are an average Ignorant Yoruba man. Efiks have no oil, yet that doesnt not stop Ndiigbo from seeing them as good neighbors. |
". Look at Goodluck Jonathan, one of the best presidents the country has ever had but the most humiliated and vilified by far. Why? Because they know he is from a place where nobody can stand up for him. Past presidents become elder statesmen and remain very relevant in the polity, but he is gradually being reduced to nothing. Most of the things he did and was vilified, Buhari does them now and nobody talks. Other past leaders are enjoying their loot, but Jonathan who obviously did not even steal as they did has become the only thief, even when the money comes from his place. For those who were part of the Eastern Region then, I know some Igbo politicians played lopsided politics in the first republic which alienated the South South, especially the Eyo Ita saga, and its understandable why many opposed Biafra. But it is completely stupid to believe that the politics of the then Eastern Region was the Igbo against the minority, far from it, it was the few greedy Igbo political class and certain groups against the weaker groups of the region. There were so many areas in today's South East that suffered more neglect than the Ijaw, Efik and other groups then. But the truth is, today's society has grown beyond that kind of thing. I read some of the lies being fabricated against the Igbo with regards to the civil war, which are indeed silly. Coming to the Adaka Boro era, he was imprisoned by Ironsi who was part of this oppressive clique at the time, he would have done the same thing to an Abakiliki man if he had the opportunity. Even the more important thing here is, who eventually killed him? He was used to fight the Igbo, and when he succeeded, he was also killed by those who used him because they didn't feel comfortable with his initial independence struggles. Fast forward, who killed Ken Saro Wiwa and for what? Who killed Alfred Dikibo, Obi Wali, Harry Marshall, Alfred Rewane, who committed genocide in Odii Bayelsa and for what? It is them that will continue to suffer the more if things remain like this. And for their Niger Delta Republic, I wonder how they intend to drive away the Igbo people there. Even if they do, leave them, the Urhobo would always be against the Ijaw, the Efik versus Anang, Ogoni and Ibibio and so on. It happened during Jonathan's time, the Itshekiri were accusing him of favouring the Ijaw. But no one is talking about Buhari favouring the North now. When the North was busy sharing oil blocs they were busy fighting inter tribal wars, engaging in chieftancy disputes, etc. That's how you know little minded people. The Niger Delta has the third and fourth largest ethnic groups and yet they are a minority. Their greatest enemies are themselves. If you want to struggle for independence, do it alone. But personally, I believe true federalism is what we need, not Biafra. Fight instead for true federalism. As for the Niger Delta, leave them to chose what they want". https://m./356481734524206?view=permalink&id=548806641958380&refid=18&_ft_=qid.6301494572636643049%3Amf_story_key.548806641958380%3Atl_objid.548806641958380&fbt_id=548806641958380&lul&ref_component=mbasic_photo_permalink_actionbar&_rdr#s_d6b5230020f705738b02047194c6754b |
"Leave the Niger Deltans alone, many of them don't have the capacity for strong reasoning. The average Northerner uses them like rags. Simple antics by them and they fall like morons. Make no mistake, I am not even in support of Biafra, I am for true federalism, an arrangement that would allow everyone control what they have and develop at their own pace and pay tax to the federal. For as long as I remember, that has also been the position of the Igbo political class. But can you tell me those who have mostly opposed it? Those who are still deceiving them because of their lack the capacity to reason. Some even say they want Niger Delta Republic, but the only time they mention it is when Biafra is mentioned. Their friends in the North will tell them that Igbo want to dominate them or are after their oil, which is just stupid for any person with proper sense. As it is, 85 percent of oil wells in their place belong to the North and South West and these are the people who easily tell them that Igbo want their oil. They fight the Igbo to protect the oil which they don't even have, and believe me, without the support of the Igbo, even the 13 percent derivation they enjoy now would have been elusive. But even more importantly, they should be reminded that oil is now a bygone commodity, its price has crashed forever because as soon as it gets beyond $45 per barrel, the US will flood the market with Shell oil. Therefore, the only thing that can save the Eastern region is the opening up of the area for trade and commerce by opening up the ports. Lagos is richer than most geopolitical zones today mainly because of the ports, and as it is, because of their little mindedness, you often object when Igbo business men push for the opening of the ports in the East because some stupidly think they are their enemies. Come to Lagos and see what is happening, little mind will always kill some of them". |
I have been in "Ali Ogba Good people" Facebook page, and I have been observing the mindset and sentiments of educated Ogba youths towards the Igbo nation, and I was impressed with what I am seeing. Educated folks in Ogba seem to be more cerebral than their Ikwerre counterparts. Th kind of backward silly sentiments and inability to dissect issues rationally that I saw amongst the Ikwerre educated youths in their facebook page was shocking, I am yet to recover from the shock I got there. Ndiigbo should forget about Ikwerre, it's a lost cause. There is yet hope for Ogba. |
01Mysticdon:What do you mean by being close to the Igbo? Are Igalas not close to the Igbos in Anambra? Do they speak Igbo language as first language? Are Idomas not close to Igbos in Ebonyi and in Benue state? Do the Idomas speak Igbo? Are Igbos in Abia not neighbors to the Annang and Ibibios? Do the Ibibios and Annang speak Igbo? Are Igbos in Oyigbo not close to Ogonis in Tai LGA, do the ogonis speak Igbo. The problem of you Igbo denials is mainly ignorance. |
01Mysticdon:You are from Ogba, your anti Igbo stance is expected, but is not shared by the Ndoni and Egbema in the same ONELGA with you. |
ibitzbarlow:Your calculation is wrong. Using the last official census ( 2006 census) figures, the percentage of the Igboid population is actually 52% approximately and not 44% like you wrote: http://www.citypopulation.de/php/nigeria-admin.php?adm1id=NGA033 |
ibitzbarlow:You are an ignorant man feigning knowledge. Which one is "Oba" ? You meant Ogba? And by the way, Egi is a clan in Ogba, just like Usomimi, and co. ONELGA is not all about Omoku, ONELGA simply means. Ogba, Ndoni, Egbema, Local Government Area, Omoku represents only the Ogba sentiments, Omoku is in Ogba and happen to be the local government headquarters, but that does not mean that the Ogba man sentiments and feelings represents those of the Ndoni and Egbema, they are basically different people. |
Ogba has a strong anti Igbo stance, but nothing as close as being Igbophobic like Ikwerre. The Ndoni has no problem with the Igbo tag, but will not go about telling the world that they are Igbos or feel angry if you address them as Igbos, the Egbema wears the Igbos tag with pride and calls itself Igbo. That's the situation of things in ONELGA LGA of Rivers. I am a member of Ikwerre, Ogba Ndoni and Egbema Facebook groups and I can tell you the mindset of their average youths. |
Bolustic:Oga hypocrite, if they were caught carrying drugs in Indonesia, Malaysia, China or any other country, will you be here to tell us that they are Nigerians and not Igbos? Stop talking trash! They are first and foremost Igbo, and every Igbo man have every right to take pride in their achievement. Thanks. |
![]() This one strong o! I pray make Yoruboid Mods here no carry am go tribalism section. We know their ways. |
Will this reach front page? Well, the Guy has a point somehow, but he lacked tact and diplomacy. |
histemple:True! They also open up the state treasury for their business cronies to suck dry. |
ISpiksDaTroof:Heaven wails for your ignorance and hell bows at your display of folly. Awo, Enahoro and his fellow AG traitors, were found guilty of treason and corrupt practices in a federal court of justice, and were rightly jailed. The charges were not trumped up charges as Awo lawyers couldn't disprove them, it wasn't a military court proceedings, it was a civil court. The presiding judge was a Yoruba man, the man who was Awo's arch enemy that wanted him booted out to replace him was a Yoruba man named Akintola. The man who vowed to see Awo dealt with and replaced by Akintola, for Awo's sin of trying to topple his government from power in a civilian coup was Tafawa Balewa. The man who pleaded that Awo and his co conspirators be imprisoned in the East, instead of the North, where angry northern mob could have lynched them to death or the angry northern prison wards would have poisoned their sorry asses was Nnamdi Azikiwe. Pray tell, how did your Igbophobic Yoruboid/ Edoic brain arrive at the conclusion of Zik being responsible for Awo travails? |
Ok guys, I took another look at it. They will both give 7. So you Guys can now let my mentions rest. I'm not good at mathematics, I concur! |
adioolayi:6-1x0+2÷2 = 7, using PEMDAS 6-1x0+2÷2 = 5, using BODMAS I don't think PEMDAS and BODMAS are basically the same. |
Yorubanews:What truth? Kids in school controlled lab environment coupling and uncoupling an already built toy parts, under supervision, is what you are comparing with a guy who built miniature artwork of Keke out of his own craft and ingenuity? Those type of science lab project exists all over top private schools in Nigeria, where over pampered rich kids play with toys. Lol! |
. |
Yorubanews:Good. So why not open thread for that and stop turning green with bitterness here? |
Yorubanews:We know the drug crime capital of Nigeria, and it's not Igboland. |
Whathaveidone:That Boy knows that dream has no hope of flying under this colonial entity. There is a reason why he painted that flag there. It's symbolic. It's the substance of the Igbo greatness. Under that flag, we can dare to dream and achieve. Let the young man dream. |
Yorubanews:Lol! Around where? Yorubaland? ![]() I'm banking on it because I'm Igbo and that's what is encoded in our genes. Dreams and aspirations for great things, unde that wonderful flag, of course. |
much123456:Amala and ewedu speaking. The odour is so unmistakable. ![]() |
Yorubanews:Good a thing Oodua is not amongst the "advanced" nation. ![]() Why should I share it in Twitter? This is not a finished product, but just a start and you are already green with bitterness, I could only wonder what will happen to you at the completion of the project, Imitation is the mother of invention, good a thing in Igboland we are aspiring for greater things. That Boy will one day, under that same flag build a life Tricycle that will yield his nation a good forex, if his dreams are funded, guided and nourished into life This is what distinguishes the Igbo mindset from those of Yorubas, and separates us as two distinct parallel entities. |
Yorubanews:Lol! You rather he built an Amala or Ewedu one? ![]() Nigeria imports Tricycles, perhaps in Bia****, boys like him will be able to copy the imported ones and start exporting to the Arewaoduanistan republic. ![]() |
Yorubanews:You are the pained one here, I can feel your pain from my end. Ndo. |
Lagusta:LMAO. Was it not last year that your Yoruba governor was going to send your lazy people to come to east to learn basic survival skills? What exactly is good for Yorubas? Lol You call it toys, I call it dreams, we are basically different people. Knowledge might have acquired new meaning in Yorubaland, but in Igbo land, we appreciate the fact that it takes basic Knowledge of crafts to fashion that piece of "art", and if the Boy continues to dare to dream, his dreams can be brought to reality with good funding and more education. I'm Igbo Most importantly, my allegiance lie only with that famous flag that is causing you great pain this night and not with a colonial contraption. |
Yorubanews:Surely not in Amala world, where dreams are replaced with bitterness for others dreams. |
Eeroh95:You have time for bitter souls o! This flag don pain them die. ![]() Like the innocent Boy is preventing them from building their own "toy" and puting an Oodua flag on it. ![]() |
