Who is the head of the South-East Governors forum? A lot of political battles are rearing their head. A lot of talking point. And I think since 1979, this is the first time Igbo leaders are putting Igbo interest first.

From 1995 till date, it was usually a pattern to support the south. SW and SS have always benefitted from SE magnanimity. I think it's time the SE play their politics right and benefit too. The era of fighting battles for others to enjoy should be a thing of the past.
It's still Umahi.
History beckons on him.
We must get it right this time around.

I would be devastated if I wake up and learn they didn't choose neutrality in that meeting.

I will lose hope totally in all of them and give my support fully to IPOB.

That stupid era of magnanimity to ungrateful wicked folks is gone with the wind.
I tell you, if GEJ event of 2010 happened now, I would campaign in all online forums to sway Igbo opinion against offering him any support.

From now onwards, we only offer support to things concerning us and that we stand to benefit directly from.

Anything else, we play neutrality and weigh our options.

Were you In this forum in 2010?

Nnaa! IPOB better mind themselves.

If Uzodimma regains Ndoni and Egbema to Imo and goes extra mile to have Oyigbo returned to Abia!
I will rank him higher than Zik!

And what is the deal with Mary Odili?
Shouldn't she be helping us regain Egbema and Ndoni from those thieves claiming to be our neighbors and brothers?
Why am I hearing stories of her siding our enemies?
What's her plan?

You hit the nail. And why is this issue not discussed in Igbo groups? I thought Slayerforever opened a closed Facebook group to that effect. It's obvious both Uzodinma, Umahi & Obiano are following this neutrality case seriously. Obiano and Anambra recently benefitted from being added to oil producing states.

Umahi is focusing on Igbo interest as regards a lot of burning issue. Uzodinma is not joking with the boundary adjustment to retrieve both ONELGA and Oyigbo from Rivers state. And the Supreme Court judgement for boundary adjustment is coming up this month if I’m correct. I noticed that Imo state Governors from Udenwa to Uzodinma are following the template began from Mbakwe who started the battle to reclaim Igbo border communities handed to the SS.

Wike my smart Governor, seeing that Rivers might lose the decided to Imo decided to play smart with the VAT distraction. It's obvious Uzodinma is not taking non of that.
Good work on the part of Uzodimma finally.
Even a prodigal son is still a son and must have a value.

It's time we played the spoiler to so called Southerners and regained all they cunningly took from us when we went to fight the North.
If we get back Egbema and Ndoni to Imo . And Oyigbo back to Abia! Nnaa! Uzodimma would be forgiven of all his sins and should be immortalized in the annals of Igbo history.

Interesting times ahead.

Fingers crossed for SE governors meeting press release tomorrow.

You know that what triggered all these is the boundary adjustment issue that saw FG favouring Mr Supreme with the oil wells that are supposed to be in Imo in the first place.
Wike in a bid to get back at FG because the very existence of the confusion in Rivers is to stall Ndigbo came up with VAT as a means to water the loss.

Lagos wey be mumu come put mouth thinking that since Rivers which they calculated would be the only option to water their VAT by reopening Onne Port (rivers) is in the game forgetting that there is Warri port (Delta state). You now see why Okowa didn't waste time to sustain the heat?

In all this, if they win it will be a prryhic victory because
1. Lagos Port monopoly will be ended
2. Warri and Onne Port will be reactivated to Punish Lagos
3. Serious boundary adjustment will occur in Rivers state to punish Wike. This will favour Abia, Imo and Anambra.
4. To make the reactivation of the ports Viable, access road to favour the ports to the main destination of what used to come from Lagos port (SE) will be laid.

So you see. Its all win-win for us.
If the states lose.
FG will most importantly punish Lagos by reopening Onne and warri which will turn Wike, Okowa and Sanwo Olu from allies to competitors, then facilitate the Oil wells destined for Imo state to Imo State and more.
Though this one won't bring a big benefit for us but its something atleast.
Thats why we pray that Wike and Lagos win.
So after rereading this again.
It turns out that our best card here should be neutrality.

Atleast I got that one right, even without being able to connect the missing dots like you did.

Igbo masses need to know this, so that they should stop bashing our governors for refusing to pitch tent with the SS and SW.

I'm not a fan of SE governors, but for once, they got their act right.
I Know Umahi must have done the maths. The rest there are just empty heads. grin

Is it not us?
So I don't understand why these people think that we will intrude when we are not stupid
Rivers lose out, we take back Obiigbo they stole from us, and take back Egbema and they better say goodbye to all the oil wells currently up for grabs between Imo and Rivers.
I swear, our lack of cunning and slimy Politicians have seen these Southerners do us shege!

Of course we know they joined because they have shared interest, Rivers dragged them in by appealing to their sense of shared interests. But that wasn't the question.

Oil business wasn't booming during the civil war era. Gowon just didn't want the country go into pieces under him. That would have meant he was weak or put him on the wrong side of history.

Right now, years after the war, the country is a contraption and everyone knows that the forced marriage isn't working and not likely going to work. All the abuses on the North from the south etc, assuming there isn't oil, north would have left voluntarily.
Disintegration this time around would have worked with no war. Assuming the oil belonged to the North, this country would have ceased to exist.

The motive that fought against secession then is quite different from now.
