Just make an offer or move on rather than criticize the price listed. Surely, sales can't be made without negotiations/ acceptance. Life is hard enough, let's not make it harder by unnecessary knocks. |
aydewale:I strongly believe that the delay you are experiencing is due to snail pace of response from all those contacted by the Canadian embassy for the confirmation of your documents. You can imagine how Nigerian Police respond to Police Clearance Certificate verification request from embassies! God help us. |
Canadians are racists ![]() ? God will forgive you guys!Delta007 has explained in details but I would like to add that the things we do are so horrible that we don't even trust ourselves. An IO at the Canadian embassy gave a banker and his family privilege/expedited visa service based on trust/ status only for him to be confronted some months later with asylum application documents for the banker and his family! Don't we know what we do and how we do it? Forged documents (Oluwole, et al), lies that don't fly, etc. There is really no big deal about visas to anywhere if people are straightforward in their dealings. Provide idiot-proof documents like Delta007 advised, pray and all will be well. I understand some of the frustrations due to delays but people should not get too emotional about it. I pray for you guys to succeed in the pursuit of your dreams. |
Nigeria is not doomed, we need the crash to wake up. It is what some of us have been praying for! The starting point is Agriculture, we must be able to feed the nation otherwise other sectors will collapse. |
No romance without finance is an old song; still very valid. |
Nothing affects you until you allow it. Life is all about perceptions and reactions; at the end, you have to accept the consequences of your actions. |
izeek:Globalization has changed everything now, my friend. Skills and investments goes only where there are opportunities; it is the same reason we all left the villages for the cities. You don't have to build, my friend; you can buy or rent as long as you can pay the price! I live here, proudly naija but no longer believe in this primitive mentality of sit down in one place and build. |
uosifo:Women deserve to be honored with or without childbirth.
My husband will be tied down and physically carried into the labour room if need be. . . . It is compulsory he sees what i have to go through to bring forth our child
Good idea but thank God you are not my wife, do you want to lose one while bringing forth another?rokiatu:I can live with that as long as my wife is ok with it. delino:The best idea for me! Afterall there is no serious pain if the wife choose to have CS, I will rather be praying than watching the cutting and all the blood. There are reported cases of fainting, ear biting and slapping all in support of the woman during childbirth. I expect the husband and wife to discuss this and agree on what is ok for both without upsetting their emotions; childbirth no be joke. All hail our women! |
machu 1: Please is there anyone that finished general medicine abroad and is back to Nigeria to work? What's the whole process like??@ poster, I apologize that my former post didn't answer your question; Don't know the process for foreign medical graduates licensing for practice in Nigeria. You can get the details from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (google to check if they are on the web). All the best. |
Your man is cheating at the time he should treating you like a "tear rubber"! And he is doing it without protection! There is no good way to deliver bad news, this guy can kill you! |
@ Poster, Are you reaping whirlwind or something? What did you sow? |
Ogbagba to ngba ara adugbo; Baba olowo gbogboro. The One that secures His people; the One with wide arms. |
Boy, you've got some liver! Why spend so much and go through some much troubles with this car? 1994/95 Sonata? I think you need peace of mind not a juju you will be worshipping everyday. Sell the car and go buy peace of mind. All the best. |
@ Poster, Your intentions are good but it takes much more than that. Can you provide the desired service if you are struggling to survive (bad roads, poor power supply, armed robbers, etc.). You should come back if you are setting up a practice that will cater for a section of the society that can pay for it otherwise you will pack up before completing the establishment of your practice. We have good doctors in Nigeria but we don't have the environment that can enable them perform as trained. Doctors are life savers but what life can they save if they are living under stress? I am not a doctor but don't find it funny that I have to be chasing petrol or diesel when I should be home resting after two weeks of rigorous offshore work. I run 3 generators in my house, supply my own water (there is even no pipe laid by govt for water supply), I maintain the long stretch of road to my house (the road is tarred in government records), I keep dogs at home and rely on God, insurance and vehicle tracking system when I drive out! You can't come back now, not this year or next except if miracle happens with the Yaradua's govt. Watch situations every now and then and I am sure you will know when to come. All the best. |
Alldruns:Slow down man and don't get desperate. Employment in Asian countries is not that easy except you've been working elsewhere as a pro. Don't pay anybody 850k otherwise the part 2 will be "Unstoppable tears". All the best. |
rasputinn: igbonla da?I dey here, my brother. |
aksamadak:Boy, the extract you pasted is the generic info on CIC website. You've been directed to the Accra website to calculate the fees. Use bank draft in USD as suggested by Delta007, it is acceptable or you may call CIC Accra for confirmation. I will pay you 5k if I am wrong. All the best. |
realcool:Boy, you have to do your vacation planning yourself and come up with specific questions people can help with. Hotels are rated differently but you have to choose based on several factors, do you want to rent a car or be chauffered around in Paris? Where would you like to shop and what would you like to buy? You have to plan your vacation yourself, google will help you in this regard and you will know the possible cost at the end of the planning. All the best. |
sorry, I just dey waka pass |
You may be too late to apply for visa to France or Netherlands if your vac is coming up between now and end of August. Available interview dates may be in September 2008 and will require 12 days for processing; this should help your planning but I don't see you geting a visa until end of Sept. I am sure you can google to reach the websites for visa fees and instructions and also for tourist sites to wherever you are interested in. You may try Euro Disney in Paris if you have kids and incorporate a Da Vinci code tour for a 7 day trip to Paris. All the best |
@ Busy_body, Very perfect response, thanks! So much pain we can avoid if we follow the rules. |
@ moderator, The poll is not fair, there should be a third option. The two can be done at the same time. |
It's amazing how we stop paying tithes because of all the shady deals in the church and "pastors chopping the money" but we can't stop paying PAYE taxes because government take it from source. The last time I checked, God said he will rebuke the devourer if you obey. Let the devil not confuse us, there are so many other ways to find money to pay relative's hospital bill. Or are your tithe and the bill in millions of Naira to the point that you can find it from other sources? Sell something or borrow if you have to, I am sure you can find a way out. And by the way, who told you your money can save your relative's life? |
Wokeyim:I can't tell you what to do, it's your choice but you don't complain when you have exercised that right. I am a Nigerian living in Nigeria, I have sets of rules I live with because it is a jungle life out here. I treat people right but will not corrupt them, pls read my postings on this thread and you will have an idea how I navigate my way around. The challenge is that the first thing people think about when in funny situations is bribing their way out especially when they are threatened with something serious like drugs. People patronize tout so they can fastrack their passage Wokeyim:There is nothing to send to the EFCC once you have paid bribe as you noted above. |
My travel agent used to get the transit visa for me so check with a travel agent. Not sure where you are headed but transit visa is no longer required if you are going to North America. Don't gamble on going to the embassy for the TV when you are about traveling except if you can hang around in Lagos for about 1 week. Full visa takes 12 working days. It's your call. |
This is not a for or against argument, just to set things in better perspective. Life is all about choices, right or wrong. Even government can't legislate to stop people from leaving the country. It is foolhardy in this century, when everybody is talking about globalization, to expect people not to gravitate towards "better" life. People travel to better themselves using opportunities created by other countries but end up helping to build those countries; thats the way it works. We can't all travel but we can't all stay here; do what you want and face the consequences! Now stop asking questions and get back to work! We need to build our dream country here in Nigeria. |
darkroll:Chief, you are moving into the consultancy zone now. I go soon send you bill ![]() Seriously, those are the reqms from naija. It is crazy but Thailand is not begging anybody to come. The NDLEA certificate is to address the drug peddling problems, Thailand is one of the common routes in that terrible trade. All the best. |

Valid International Passport (1) NDLEA Clearance Certificate (from Shaw Road, Ikoyi).
