I wonder how you got together in the first instance! Hope this is not a flimsy excuse to kick her out?

Anyways, no one is completely useless; even a dead clock is right twice a day!

Pay attention to her strong areas so you can help bring out the best in her, I bet you will eat your words when she hit the right frequency of performance.

Whoever said opposite? (even tho its more like 60-65% as at June 2008) My point is, do not destroy what is urs in the name of freedom fighting! Christ! is that so difficult to understand? You spend much more rebuildin!

FYI, I have paid my tax every month for the past 6 years, ok? Never missed one month. Even though I mite not have gotten all I expected from FG, mos def, the solution is not me going to blow up Federal secretariat. That, my friend or anything near it, is BARBARIC!
Can't agree with you less! Emotions have beclouded all reasoning but am just waiting to see the end result. Have been in the Niger Delta for over 18 years and have opinions that are very different from that of others (whether MEND or FG). There is stupidity on both sides but we will see who is more stupid; let's wait for the end of the so-called amnesty to see what path will be charted next.

Thanks for your help guys.[/quote]Traveling through Gbongan (expressway to Ile Ife), it will take you about 50 minutes at 100km/hr to Osogbo; do the maths to get an estimate of the distance. Using Iwo town to reach Osogbo is another alternative but Iwo-Osogbo is one of the most dangerous roads in Nigeria except if it is being repaired as I type this.

@dacraziest,

Seeking to procure the certificate from Abuja NYSC or forging one is criminal and an attitude that wont help this nation. You said the PTDF scholarship can be deferred - defer it rather than selling your soul to the devil.

We can't have the kind of nation we seek if we don't make sacrifices. Do it legit or don't do it.

@ poster,

Delta007's comment is very good; you shouldn't use just an idea from anywhere. Immigration decision is not a low level one.

Go and land first even if its for 1 week, come back with the family and do proper planning. Take your time, don't rush. You can stay in naija for another 2 years before taking your decision.

Forget about the recession, jobs are still there depending on your qualification and experience.

One more thing, you should put Calgary on your radar ASAP.

Don't know where you are moving from but I will advise that you stay away from Ibadan. Abuja is far ahead in all ways, Ibadan is close to Lagos but Abuja is just an hour by air.

I live in Ibadan, off Ring Road. The city is dirty, the governor is lazy, everything is slow.

Most European countries will be looking for transit visas before they allow u in. WTF?
I would stay away from Delta until the nonsense plane is changed in June/July; no parking lot in the sky and my appetite for risk is low these days.

Some European countries (France, Netherlands) waived transit visas if your final destination is North America.

BusinessRe: Purchasing Foriegn Books from Nigeria? How do you do it? by igbonla(m): 11:31am On Apr 19, 2009
I usually buy from Amazon US using US debit or credit cards. Shipped through my coy US office or thro friends. Have found a shipping company that can give me a permanent US shipping address and will ship to Nigeria using a courier firm. Cost is resonable and no duty is paid on books.

Using Amazon is the easiest way I know, there are few booksellers I know here but their inventory is small. Moreover, don't have time moving around looking for books and they usually cost more.

Let me know if you find this useful.

What you should do, in no particular order.

(1) Tell him about the staph so he can get himself treated.
(2) Dump him if you have not already done so.
(3) Stop trying to commit suicide. Abstain or avoid unprotected sex in the future (till you are married).
(4) Get tested for HIV, just to be sure you are clean.

Your post reminded me of one Professor that came from the US to interview for the post of UI VC (true gist, my friend). When asked how he would react/respond if he kidnapped on campus by students, he responded with a question "can it happen"?

Naija politics is crazy, dangerous but can be very interesting; you've got to be inside to be able to change anything. Nothing is impossible but you have to start from the grassroot for the kind of change you want to bring. It is the grassroot people that will move you up but "you go spend plenty wad" because the grassroot people are hungry, very hungry.

Remember me when your kingdom come  cheesy

I always believe that 99% percent of people leaving the country is running and not travelling because of bad economic and political condition.more than fifty million able bodied and educated Nigerians have declared themself refugee in many countries, in north Africa,Europe.Asia,America. even some Nigerians prefer to be imprisoned than to be deported to Nigeria, courtesy of our leaders, but now one of them has joined us on the run, the nuhu and others may soon follow
It depends, my friend. It will be flying if it's across the Atlantic; West African countries may be running or something. But it doesn't matter whether you are jumping or running out, what matters is where you land. Life goes on, my friend.

PoliticsRe: Ribadu Flees Nigeria? by igbonla(m): 11:27am On Dec 09, 2008
@igbonla
lets leave sentiments out of this, you really think if all these former governors with their enormous stolen wealth and connections wanted to kill ribadu ,he would still be alive?please don't make me laugh a sitting minister was assasinated even with police escorts and you are talking about ribadu, even if he has 100 police escorts they will miraculously vanish within minutes, don't forget this is nigeria, ribadu is still alive because he is making up most of these assasination attempts, it is not the first time they ll do it, fani kayode did to get more police and sss escorts after he left office
@lucabrasi,
There is nothing sentimental about somebody running. It is one of the survival strategies in this nation, go ask all those that have used it. I am sure you know them.
A sitting minister cannot be compared with Ribadu, believe me! They have made attempts and have not succeeded, why do you think he is running? Just for the fun of it? Ribadu can't be killed easily, forget about wealth and connection. He knows those that have the know-how to do the killing.
The govt leaks, everybody knows what is going on except the average Nigerians that relies on newspaper reports.
On a lighter note, I think you should come home more frequently.

this is correct
I beg to disagree ma! Ribadu took the stolen loot off them and left them via plea bargain. Atiku did raise storm, so did many others but the difference is that Ribadu can't get the kind of justice he served. Don't you guys get it, he just must die, he knows too much to be left alive. And he got posted to Edo state? Straight ticket to hell.

I know enough not to bother with all that is published in the papers. I am not on any side right now, maybe later but my present concern is the budget that has failed even before taking off. Guys, we have serious issues to contend with, Ribadu is the least of them.

God bless Nigeria.

Still on Customs, be sure the details are worked out and made clear to would-be customers. The last time a partner sent some stuffs down here via UPS, I was made to pay custom charges costing almost the price of the items. It was not negotiable and was either you pay or forget the goods.

Don't know your field of practice but the Provincial Nomine Program is faster than the skilled worker route. You need to google that for more details.
Expect to spend up to 6 years if you go the skilled worker way!

Hi everyone, igbo, a pretty lady and myself were at the Canadian embassy yesterday and we got different info. Igbo was told his was still being processed. I was however told to go for a medical test at one of two designated hospitals. One in Yaba, the other in VI. I was also asked to come for an interview with police report which I had submitted when making application.they also asked for additional financialevidence.I had submitted my scholarship letter covering over $40, 000, my CSCS statement and share certificates worth over 2 million naira and my personal statement of account of over a million.Glory be to God and thanks to evryone. I would however need advice on the the stuff I was told to submit and on what to expect at the interview. Note that my fees, accomodation and other expenses are not even up to $30000 because the fees are about 13000; accomodation around 5000 and others around 9000. Still have about 15000 left from the over $40K scholarship.please advise.
God's Name be praised! Now we can calm down; I think you will agree that the Canadians were just being thorough.

Hi there fotodaddy,

Thank you for your note,

The price of 3k will only apply if I decide to air freight the product to Nigeria. Otherwise, I have set a minimum price of 2k if PSO is transported by sea.

The dilemma rests with the transit times - Airfright will take 2-3 days to arrive Lagos, while sea freight will take approximately 60 days. I hope you see my dilemma.

Also, please remember Nulon PSO is a premium octane booster and the best in Nigeria. PSO is in a completely different league in comparison to the other ineffective and weak products on the market.

"PSO IS THE BEST AND NIGERIANS DESERVE THE BEST"
@V8, I am sure you appreciate what fotodaddy is doing for you. You may not be able to push this product if it cost that much; how many people care about boosting octane number? Do whatever you can to get the price down otherwise you will be stuck trying to break even.
Naija is a different terrain, there are only few Sienna's here.

All the best.
