PhonesRe: NITEL Returns As NTEL With 4G Cheaper Data Services by iguita: 7:24pm On Oct 23, 2015
At that period you were expecting NITEL to go mobile, NITEL was fighting for its life, it obviously lost the fight. For those expecting NITEL to come back next month, mark my words, NITEL cannot come back, or better put, I'd be very very surprised if it comes back
bigfrancis21:
I remember when NITEL was NITEL. I remember clearly the 90s and early 2000s when landlines were in vogue and my dad was a senior manager with NITEL. Our neighbours would often come to our house to make calls. I still remember our phone number, one of the earliest things I crammed as a kid which has never left my memory since then. Some neighbours would come around when my parents were not in to make calls so they could stay as long as they wanted - for as long as 1 hour or 2 on the phone laughing and making noise huh. The same people who would not stay up to 30 minutes had my parents been around. I used to deal with them - i'd simply go to the ethernet jack in the house and 'piam', off goes the telephone network cable and then run off to the parlour pretending that it was network issue if they ask. grin

Come the early 2000s, GSM was introduced to Nigeria. NITEL should have gone mobile early enough seeing the worldwide direction GSM services were taken. NITEL was complacent with the thinking that their customers would remain loyal to them regardless of the more benefits of mobile telephone services. Come 5 years, GSM largely overtakes landline services and demand and NITEL starts to crumble and loses its former position as Nigeria's sole telecommunications services provider. Today, it is a shadow of its former self.

That guy was sent by God men. He soothed me. The other guys, just made me loose taste for the show. They are trying to be, they are yet to catch the vision Chaz B had. When I heard he died, I didn't even weep, he had done what God asked him to come do. May his soul rest in peace.

TravelRe: Travellers!... How Do You Deal With Plane Turbulents During Flight? by iguita: 5:58pm On Oct 12, 2015
True talk. The larger the plane, the smoother it handles turbulence, they are part of the flying experience. If I tell you my experience with Dana, na him make me begin get aerophobia. I simply try to take my mind off the turbulence, if I were watching a movie, I'd pause it, rest my head and close my eyes. I have encountered enough turbulence, ,on killed me.... so it's not in my power, na god hand we dey. I'm going to Seoul via Cairo and China, I don dey prepare myself for 21 hours in the air

My candid opinion, you did very well in the interview, even your composure and confident level should also add to your grade.
I think they only did that to pull your legs, and see how you can withstand pressure in the banking job, especially when dealing with an irate customer.
You are the best student, so dey knew you had the answers to d questions, Dats y dey kept cutting you, just want to hear your response first.

Christianity EtcRe: Pope US Visit Proves Nigerian Pastors Wrong!!! by iguita: 7:07pm On Oct 04, 2015
freaking business. Meanwhile, before anyone blabs their mouth, how many of you have a range rover and a Toyota Carina and prefer to cruise the Carina everywhere? Except owu dey blow you.

Kudos Birdman, your comment make sense well well
birdman:
I beg to disagree. The pope can request that plane anytime he wants. It is reserved for him. In essence, the state itself has bought a jet for the pope.

Now compare that with a pastor preaching a sermon in one city on saturday night, and another sermon in another time zone the next morning. Obviously driving is not feasible. Neither can you carry all your staff for 4-5 hour wait at the airport every weekend, assuming you can even find a flight when you want. Have you ever flown a 12 hour flight before? What evangelist is going to try a world missions trip lasting a 3 months flying every two to three days. Even Reinhard Bonnke, on moving to the US, needed a private jet. God so kind, he found a preacher that gave it to him for free!

Are there carnal christians and pastors that lust after jets because it is a status symbol? Yeah. But there are also carnal christians, like you, who think all there is to a plane is the status symbol. The plane is a tool. Its very effective for Ceos, vps , presidents because they can get from point a to point b quickly. . And it is a very effective tool for moving significant ministry resources from point a to point b at a moments notice
Christianity EtcRe: Pope US Visit Proves Nigerian Pastors Wrong!!! by iguita: 7:06pm On Oct 04, 2015
I for like talk say #GBAM and FULL STOP to your post but I thought to add one or two more points.
1. Some of these pastors are business-minded (read Bishop Oyedepo, Pastor Chris Oyakilome). They don't depend on church funds, they simply take advantage of the number of their congregation to make money. Take Papa for instance, 200k people worship in his church every sunday. If 10% buys his books, that is 20k people. If he makes a profit of 500 per book, that is 10 million naira per freaking week. And people complain that this guy is flying jets, what do you want him to fly? Coffins? There is nobody that has influence that these guys have and will be unable to comfortably afford a jet. these guys dropping their jets for economy class tickets is simply their prerogative and nobody's freaking business. Meanwhile, before anyone blabs their mouth, how many of you have a range rover and a Toyota Carina and prefer to cruise the Carina everywhere? Except owu dey blow you.

Maybe we're different.

I am scared of take-off but it wears off in five minutes. But landing? I start feeling the plane descend even before the pilot announces descent.
victorazy:
Believe it or not, take-off is the most difficult cuz the thrust engines do more of works than landing. Landing, the pilot only need to reduce the speed of the engines, position the canbins, that's all. I remebered traveling from Abuja to Lagos, I didn't notice when the plane landed.

the 'letter of comfort' is the bone of contention here. it's like a note of undertaking that their vessels won't be involved in illegal activities which these carriers are not willing to undersign. the president has faults but this is not one of them
PoliticsRe: Shippers Shun Lifting Nigeria’s Crude by iguita: 7:38am On Sep 30, 2015
Abegi, the Letter of Comfort' is to ascertain that the crude the ship is carrying is not stolen. While we know that Nigerian authorities can be corrupt, this one more requirement is not enough for shippers to say they don't want to carry oil except of course they have something to hide. I'd not be surprised though.
sunnyb0b0:
When we were shouting at the top of our voices that Buhari's obsolete dictatorial policy of bullying international shipping lines can never work, the masturbators and broom wielding herbalists said we were wailing, see where we are now. Nobody wants to lift our crude anymore. BUHARI IS BAD FOR THE ECONOMY!

I see Kachikwu resigning from NNPC soon if Buhari continues interfering with obsolete policies and blocking initiatives from Kachikwu.

Little wonder some people refer to him as "brain dead".

Sounds like a lot of humor. Btw, do all other pilots hear all the ground crews' instructions? 'was I married to you before' Sounds creepy....
chax100:
It could also be fun in the cockpit with the control tower too. Pilots do ease themselves with a good sense of humour. LOL.
Science/TechnologyRe: Plane Crashes Caused By Pilot Error & Some Facts About Flying (Graphic Photos) by iguita: 8:00pm On Sep 29, 2015
Landing is more dangerous than take-off. In 5 minutes, the plane is stabilized. But for landing, the pilots will battle with stability for over 20- 30 minutes. To give you an instance, if you fly Lagos to Abuja. Even before you arrive Lagos, the plane is stabilized but if you are landing Lagos, the plane would have been descending from Ogun state.
victorazy:
Yee! Take-off is most challenging cuz its fights the force of gravity which is the most difficult force of the universe. Only one man the force respected, his name is "Jesus"
Science/TechnologyRe: Plane Crashes Caused By Pilot Error & Some Facts About Flying (Graphic Photos) by iguita: 7:58pm On Sep 29, 2015
The most dangerous periods in flying are the first 3 minutes during take-off and the last 8 minutes during landing [quote =Explorers]
