If Ronaldo wanted to leave simply because of CL football, he would have made his feelings known around April/May. He wanted to see the direction United would go in the transfer window and he’s now seen it that the club is unserious.

Mind you, Rangnick wanted about 4 players in January but he was told there would be no funds. The excuse was that a new manager would replace Rangnick anyway and it would be better if the new manager signs his own players. So the Glazers forfeited the top 4 race on the excuse that they would buy quality players this summer.

Every club makes a mistake every now and then with recruitment. United’s problem is taking forever to recognize that mistake and fixing it. Guardiola bought Claudio Bravo and Nolito in his first season. It took him 5 months to see they weren’t going to work and he replaced them the next summer transfer window.

Klopp has had Karius, Kaban, Klavan replaced after 12-18 months with better quality. United still have people like Phil Jones, Viktor Lindelof, Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, etc in the club after producing shït performance every season. I don’t understand their obsession with shïtty players.

Man Utd play 4 at the back but the biggest problem is the depth of the team. Maguire suits a team that wants to counter attack. Sit deep(leave zero space behind), soak pressure and spring an attack as fast as possible the moment the opponent loses the ball.

However, because Ole and ETH want to play ‘modern’ football, they play a high line that leaves real estate between the last defender and a goalkeeper that doesn’t play as a sweeper. Maguire doesn’t have the pace to recover and De Gea rarely leaves his line.
