Accurate long balls in La liga last season = Casemiro 2nd

Accurate passes in La Liga last season = Casemiro 11th
Casemiro is a specialist DM.

We don’t need to start McFred if you have Casemiro. He essentially does the job of those two players. Casemiro can tackle, intercept and pass the ball from a deep position.

ETH didn't say DDG has to play short passes from behind. He said they can also go long when the chance for a pass is not available. So he doesn't understand why DDG made that mistake.
It’s baffling to me that professional footballers cannot pass their way out of a press. It’s like saying a university graduate cannot read and write.

It begs the question, what has Ole been coaching these players in the last 3 years? Even if it means having 5 or 6 players around the box to create more options for the man on the ball, United should do better with this skill.

But I already suspect it isn’t about having many options, it’s because United defenders are slow to think, slow to receive the ball and turn away from danger. It’s like they always panic while with the ball and do something very stupid with it.

Or a player that has the brains to read situations and can set offside traps.
United don’t have a single intelligent centre half with such skill set. Van Dijk is the master of that art and maybe this is why he doesn’t get dribbled past often. Setting offside traps is Liverpool’s greatest strength.

Liverpool’s high line works because they know how to press and win the ball high up the pitch with great success.

They also have a sweeper keeper whose starting position is at the edge of the box while the outfield players press aggressively in the opposition half.

And when all these parameters fail, they have genuine pace to recover the ball more often than not and they have got one of the best goalkeepers in one v one situations.

Just look at their offside trap stats. It’s sickening.

grin Caisemero will work for his money sha. Omo.
I don’t think he can work with Maguire.

ETH will have to start playing Bailly, Varane and Lisandro. If he wants that modern attacking football with a high line, he needs pacy defenders.

If he starts Maguire again on Monday, then he deserves to be sacked. Maguire does not fit ETH’s style. Something has to give. ETH will have to start parking the bus to accommodate Maguire or Maguire has to go to accommodate ETH.

Mehn Sergio Busquets is one hell of a player. He is not fast but his reading of the game and anticipation is very very good. Already moving to intercept before you even know you're getting a pass.
Busquets is too good. His reading of the game is second to none. He’s always in front of the danger. I don’t know how he does it but his footballing talent should be taught in football schools.

The way Ndidi suddenly turned to an injury prone player made it clear that he reduced his age, he's at least 30 +.
United should have signed Ndidi like 2 years ago. Ole went for Van De Beek and Amad. A squad already had Pogba, Bruno, Mata but ole added VDB to it to achieve exactly what?

If FBI should audit Man Utd, they would find a money laundering ring in the transfer department. United have been crying out for a mobile destroyer for more than 5 years and that position kept getting ignored.

First goal Vs Brighton..

Ball from dalot wing..
Tru ball to welbeck.
Dalot no where to be found.
Pull back
Brighton shoot ..goal.
Maguire kept a Brighton player ONside. If you don’t have a recovering pace as a set skill, your offside trapping skill should be legit. Liverpool centre halves have both. Van Dijk and Matip can trap breeze in an offside position and when the flag does not go up, they have pace to recover.

Maguire has neither - the first goal is Maguire’s fault. If he had stepped up before the final pass, Welbeck would have been offside in the build up.

Mrviktor:
Second goal.
Shot on degea.
He saves..
Dalot wing ...no where to be found..
Goal
This one was on Shaw. The distance United defenders leave for attackers to take shot is terrible. Instead of closing down the distance where there would be a high chance of blocking, they back up and let attackers take pop shots at De Gea. Shaw could have blocked that shot if he wanted to but he did not. Dalot couldn’t have known how De Gea was going to parry that shot.

Mrviktor:
Third goal counter from dalot wing.
Square ball.
Shoot goal
Maguire and Shaw were at fault here.

Eriksen was pointing to Maguire to block off Toney’s run even before the ball was played, Maguire stepped forward instead of blocking the run. Brentford found the pass to Toney and Shaw couldn’t keep up with his man. Mbeumo murdered Shaw with pace and with a brilliant dribble to score.

Just look at United’s captain……defending like a schoolboy.

How can/do we build this great platform if we don't sign at least 2 -3 experienced players??

A club as big as Man United don't have a 7/10 CM and a DM specialist.

Every single signing is a gamble, you just have to make sure the player(s) tick some boxes.

Or you prefer Ndidi whose real age might be 31
Ndidi and Casemiro are two great options. I just want a specialist DM, I don’t want a CM that can play as a make-shift DM.

Ndidi/Casemiro have the highest number of tackles in Europe in the last 5 seasons or so. Ndidi is injury prone lately and I am sure he’s about 33 years of age.

One bastärd Norwegian fraud created this culture of rewarding failure at this club.

When Jose was here, he called out poor performances consistently from the players. He had no favorites. There was meritocracy in whatever he was doing at that time.

Ole came, lied to everyone that he has brought smiles and positivity back to the club. Players who constantly dropped 1/10 performances were guaranteed a start in the next game. The culture of mediocrity was created.

Now these overfed, overpaid bunch of idiöts can’t kick the habit.

The fee is the subject here, it was outrageous and it set up a chain of other outrageous transfer fees and wages.

To put it in perspective Pogba will earn less wage at Juve this season compared to what he earned in United despite Juve not paying a transfer fee.
United’s wage structure is the cause. Every club has its own unique wage structure. United was paying Rooney about £300K/week as far back as 2014.

Pogba’s wage was commensurate to his level of talent as at 2016. He was one of the best young players in the world and he arrived at United when a dross like Luke Shaw was already on £195K/week.

The tax code in Italy is different. In Italy, a foreign player’s tax liability is capped at €100k to attract foreign players to Serie A. So his take home pay in Italy is €7.9m

In England, He’s on high income tax bracket, he’s taxed at almost 50%. Meaning €14m United offer nets him only €7m.

So he is pocketing more money at Juventus than what United offered him.

It’s you who’s not getting the logic, I’ll break it down for you.
Your transfer model is totally different from City’s. The latter has a more efficient model.

They don’t buy overpriced players and don’t dish out bumper pay any how+ they don’t run their players dry before selling, Hence the players are easier to offload, look at the sales of Sterling to Chelsea and Jesus to Arsenal for example. They get some money from these sales and only need to add small change to get better quality and sometimes pay these guys lower wages than the outgoing players. That’s good business if you ask me.

You guys on the other hand pay way above market rate for average players or players that have passed their prime and you expect such players to leave, coupled with the bogus wage, you expect a club to inherit such. Imagine Pogba had to leave for free, a record signing for that matter, that’s a huge loss.

Players most times won’t want to leave for less. There lies your issue and reason for low turn over as you pointed.

I still remember how Bastian Schweinsteiger and Rooney had to be forced out.
So you have gone back full circle to put the blame on the board. The same thing I did when you jumped out of nowhere to attack my comment.

You people are just hilarious. cheesy grin

Oya, add Chelsea, tell me what percentage of their turnover is spent on transfers?
They have all outspent Man Utd in comparison to their turnovers.

All those time Ferguson was covering up for the Glazers that there was no value in the market, City was spending good money on Yaya Toure, Aguero, Kompany, Balotelli, etc.

By the time Ferguson sauntered into his retirement, Man City were ripe to start reaping their benefits. It’s not a surprise they have now won more PL titles than Chelsea and Arsenal in such a short period of time.

Cos you keep giving players bloated contracts that no other club will want to pay, yet you don’t want to let them go for free, so you renew.

There lies your problem.
So it’s the fans that will sell players, not the board?

Whenever you people are cornered with your daft logic, you quickly jump into another issue.

After 2 seasons, Pep had signed 22 players at Man City. That is a board and a club that has ambition to ensure Pep succeeds. They got him the players that fit into his philosophy.

Pep inherited Joe Hart(England’s #1), he said he didn’t want him and signed Claudio Bravo. Bravo didn’t work after few months and Pep signed Ederson in the next summer window. That’s ambition and it can only come from the board.

No one cares about the money spent in the past. The past belongs where it belongs. A new manager needs his own type of players to flourish.

Lol. You guys always refer to the glazers as the board. When things go wrong, it’s either they sell or resign. Why not direct your grievances at the CEO, scouts and directors of football? Similar to what we do to players and the manager.
If the funds aren’t forthcoming from the owners, there’s little the CEO, Scouts and DOFs can do. You need to get on Amazon Prime TV and watch Man City’s documentary “All Or Nothing”.

City complete their deals within a week. The right people are in place and money is no issue. They identify a player, they offer their bids and a deal is completed without hassles. It all stems from the owners.

If I give you N5000 to get me a car instead of giving you N50m, I am setting you up to fail. It’s as simple as that. They chased De Jong for 2 months and ended up not getting him because they cannot cover the debt owed by Barca.

If he joins I'll be ecstatic, but it's very unlikely.
So when Varane joined, United were on their way into winning a Treble in Europe?

Footballers are mercenaries and Madrid have already replaced Casemiro with 2 French monsters(Camavinga and Tchouameni).

If the price is right, Casemiro can be persuaded to come and get a starting position. It would benefit both parties.

United have already withdrawn their De Jong bid. It’s very important they invest in a player of similar quality and Casemiro fits that role. Rabiot is a French McTominay. He will not improve the midfield.
