If we are not careful, Rashford would end up as another player of ours who never fully achieved his potentials.

You cannot expect De Gea to be bailing them out all the time. De Gea has paid his dues at United, it’s about time the club starts giving him back his respect.

I remember when De Gea was the only world class player at the club. Winning the club’s player of the year awards almost every season. He never abandoned the club for the bigger clubs that time. He was loyal.

Even when LVG/Woodward wanted to sell him to Madrid and the fax machine got in the way of the deal, De Gea never kicked a fuss or downed tools. He never said nonsense to the media. He was loyal to the very end.

Now that he’s out of form, this shameless club wants him out for a rookie nobody rates outside UK. Rashford, Maguire, James, and the other British liabilities at the club are doing just fine - even with their pathetic performances year after year but De Gea who has always been loyal can get the chop.

It’s nostalgia - people tend to rate what happened in the past over what they see now.

Besides, the wall to wall reporting of football games these days, social media, etc also heighten the flaws of today’s players. Something that was barely existing in VDS days.

As a goalkeeper, I have never seen any United GK do what De Gea did against Arsenal at the Emirates in 17/18 or at Spurs in 18/19. It’s the best performance from a GK I have ever been privileged to see.

VDS was never at that top level. Never ever.
