raumdeuter:Mourinho has two CLs from different clubs, Di Matteo has what? ![]() Chelsea are in another CL semifinal. Porto haven’t been in one since 2004 Inter haven’t been in one since 2010. You were saying? ![]() |
raumdeuter:Pogba has a World Cup, so does Mendy. Mourinho won CL with Porto & Inter(both teams have not tasted a semifinal since Jose left them) which shows only a genius can achieve such feats. Where’s Pogba’s champions league by the way? He’s been playing that competition since 2012 and he’s got nothing to show for it. ![]() |
handelex:Jose has only been at Spurs like a year. Pogba has been without Mourinho for almost 3 years. Where is his trophy? Mind you, Jose joined a club(Spurs) that hasn’t won a single trophy in the last 14 years. Pogba is presently at a club whose tradition is rooted in winning trophies. Pogba has also insinuated he prefers Ole’s methods so why hasn’t he won anything under Ole? Don’t you see how erratic your argument is? ![]() |
handelex:Why hasn’t Pogba won another trophy for United since Jose left? Did Jose not win trophy in his previous clubs before ever working with Pogba? |
DeadPresidents:The heritage quip was to mobilize United fans to pressure the Glazers to spend more but unfortunately, United fans have been brainwashed by the media to see Jose as the enemy. Since the heritage issue, Maguire came from Leicester to captain United almost immediately. Daniel James came from Swansea to get a shirt. These are the things that could never have happened under SAF. United went from winning a trophy every other year to not have won one in 4 years - that’s football heritage and we saw the evidence when Sevilla met Ole’s ‘improved’ United and still got impregnated in a Europa semifinal game. |
96forever:Mourinho takes difficult jobs - that’s his way. He likes being an underdog. There’s a reason Spurs haven’t won the league title in 60 years. They are bottlers. That’s not on Mourinho. Even SAF would struggle to win a Carling cup with Spurs. Despite the warning Jose gave them about Pogba, they still allowed Pogba to do numbers on them and brought him down to earn United a penalty. |
handelex:Your question is irrelevant. Despite their beef, Mourinho has gone on to praise Pogba while he’s a manager at Spurs. It seems Pogba is still keeping malice with Mourinho - the same guy that won him trophies at United. |
GloryIsaac:Mourinho’s methods have won him 25 major trophies. Ole’s methods have won what? You have 30 mins to answer this question cos it attracts 40 marks(continuous assessment). You can consult google, babalawo, dibia, fortune teller, etc. |
handelex:Pogba was a virus then. He was the supposed leader of the squad after Ibra left but he didn’t conduct himself like one. The game at Southampton - Pogba was dispossessed 8 times under no pressure. He just kept on misplacing passes to get Jose sacked. |
Joezinho:Pogba is a fool. This is the video of Mourinho dedicating a whole half time talk on Pogba(who wasn’t even on the pitch) to Spurs players. Mourinho told his Spurs players to watch out for Pogba when he comes on. That Pogba will improve United and they should watch out for his passes because of his outstanding quality. He also told his players not to attract the pressure and keep an eye on Pogba cos he can also shoot from a distance. https://twitter.com/howoskii/status/1382004606503432200?s=21 |
handelex:That quote is irrelevant. Mourinho hasn’t said any negative thing about Pogba since he left United. In the Spurs Amazon documentary, he was even telling his players the outstanding quality Pogba has and they should watch out for him when he comes in later as a sub in the 1-1 game last season. So why would Pogba say that about a guy that defended him against the establishment? |
handelex:Pogba is a morōn! When the class of 92 descended on him, It was Jose that had his back. Jose defended him when he didn’t have to. I remember Jose saying Scholes and co were jealous of Pogba’s contract. You might have forgotten those episodes but I kept the files.
|
handelex:Paul Pogba: “Jose Mourinho went against players. Ole doesn't go against us.” Trophies won under Mourinho: 3 Trophies won under Ole: 0 |
"I have to adapt to what young players are now. Lampard at 23 was a man. Players now at 23 aren't men, they're brats." - Jose Mourinho
|
elampiro:If Kante started at United, he would have a statue outside Old Trafford. Kante has 5 lungs and he does the job of 2 players on the pitch. If United fans can celebrate JS Park for his tireless work back in the days, why would Kante be different? Kante automatically makes any team solid. He’s got pace, he can pass the ball and he often gets into the box to score. Stop disrespecting Kante, please. McTominay alone cannot protect the 2 oafs in our central defence. All the DMs mentioned above had quality defenders behind them that can handle themselves without a protective shield. Keane - Stam/Johnsen Carrick - Rio/Vidic Toure - Kompany Mikel - Terry/Carvalho/Ivanovic Fernandinho - Kompany/Laporte/Dias Oliseh - Okechukwu/Keshi Ndidi - Soyuncu/Evans Essien - Terry/Carvalho McTominay - Dumb/Dumber |
GloryIsaac:The video is on Twitter - he said so. And it confirms my thoughts that Ole pampers these guys. There’s no consequence for failure, Ole actually rewards failure. Lindelof can score 5 own goals in a game and still start the next game. Pogba has forgotten that he would have no trophy at United without Mourinho. How many competitions have United failed to win now post-Mourinho? Almost 11. Pogba is a joke. |
Since De Gea got demoted, he’s been keeping clean sheets while the Great English hope has been laying eggs in every game since then. I am not deducing anything, just observing. ![]() |
elampiro:By parking the bus with 5 defenders. ![]() We are talking of a quality DM that would do an excellent job when United are attacking. The triangle in the centre of midfield should be inverted(one DM, 2 CMs). The current set up is 2 DMs, 1 CAM). It’s limiting. |
elampiro:Matic is finished as a DM. He’s got no recovery pace to catch up when the opponents break. We can as well bring Schmeichel back as a goalkeeper. Expert17:The two of them are not good enough as CMs or DMs. They should be substitutes at their very best if the club really wants to go to the next level. Matic and Carrick have nothing in their brains to teach or rehabilitate Fred or Scott. If they can do it, they would have done it. How many erratic passes does Fred make in a single game? What have Carrick/Matic done to improve Fred’s passes? A good DM must be positionally aware, must be excellent in interceptions, blocks, tackles and a good recovery pace even when he’s caught upfield. A good DM must also have composure in possession and the ability to pass or dribble when pressed. Fred or McTominay lack each of these qualities. BARAJ92:Bruno couldn’t have done what Pogba did to Hojberg for the 3rd goal and Bruno couldn’t have found Cavani like Pogba did for the disallowed goal. I don’t know why you guys can’t get it that a squad needs more than Bruno OR Pogba. A squad needs Bruno + Pogba + 2 other quality midfielders. Bruno struggled in plenty of games without Pogba. All those 0-0 games that widened the gap between United and City are because Bruno cannot do it alone sometimes. Only United fans want one of the two when you should be clamoring for both and maybe 3 more. City have KDB, Foden, Gundogan, Bernardo Silva in their midfield. If one or two of them get injured or suspended, there isn’t any loss of quality. At United, if Bruno should get injured, everything collapses. That’s why City are miles ahead and United are on their longest run without a trophy in the PL era. |
elampiro:Pogba isn’t a DM, he’s wasted there. Prime Matic was very good but what we have now is a shadow of his former self. Kante & Ndidi are the best DMs in the league. If Ole can’t get Kante, he should be snatching Ndidi from Leicester. |
elampiro:He simply cannot. He lacks the positional discipline to do so. Ndidi, Kante, etc don’t get attracted to the action and then leave their position. It takes plenty of discipline to hold your position and know when to join the attack. McTominay is a CM, he cannot operate alone in the DM position. He’s poor at tackling, interceptions & clearances in comparison to Kante or Ndidi. If he can be used as a sole DM, Ole would have used him there at any point in the last 3 years. |
elampiro:Shaw - 70 corners taken KDB - 83 corners taken Bruno - 56 corners taken Pogba - 0 corners taken. Meanwhile, you expect Pogba to have the same number of created chances as these players. Just admit you don’t like Pogba instead of the hate speech you throw at him. |
elampiro:The pairing of Fred and McTominay is essential in the defensive midfield for United because we don’t have players better than them in the squad. That does not mean we should kid ourselves that they are good enough. McFred essentially does the job of one DM. I will rather have a quality DM like Casemiro, Kante or Ndidi as a sole DM to dovetail Pogba and Bruno. Ole knows his defence is shit and he tries to protect them with 2 DMs even against bottom sides. |
elampiro:I can find it. However, I know as at January 20, Shaw had created 12 chances from corners and free kicks in the PL. He created only 3 from set plays throughout last season. |
weedtaker:That was a very strong Monaco side. You forgot they also had Lemar and Falcao in their attack. The same Monaco side that destroyed Pep’s Man City? weedtaker:That Monaco side wasn’t average. It was a team filled with talents. Big clubs came for nearly all their players after that season. Bakayoko - Chelsea Mbappe - PSG Lemar - Atletico Bernardo - Man City Mendy - Man City Fabinho - Liverpool That’s more than half of their first team going to massive European clubs. How’s that an average side? Average sides don’t win a league competition of 38 games. weedtaker:Haaland is as good as Mbappe. One could even argue he’s better. Look at the number of goals he’s scored for Dortmund in a short while he got there? That’s a Dortmund side that are languishing in 5th position in a very poor Bundesliga season this year. weedtaker:Same as the pensioner Giroud that Arsenal considered not good enough and they kicked out. France had a massive squad in 2018. Even Greenwood would perform at a high level for that team. The defence was solid, the midfield was monstrous. Any decent striker would perform just about the same as Mbappe. Haaland could have actually scored more in that French team than Mbappe did. |
elampiro:How’s that a small difference? Bruno, KDB, Rashford and Shaw are all set piece takers, their created chances stats would be skewed. Any of them takes a corner kick and Maguire’s slabhead puts the ball into row Z, that’s a chance created. |
MRTA7:That’s great news. James is the best defensive winger on the planet. He does more defending than attacking. ![]() |
elampiro:Pogba - 18 chances, 1520 mins Fred - 21 chances, 2018 mins. Fred played 500 mins more than Pogba and he has only 3 more chances created? ![]() |
weedtaker:Mbappe isn’t clear of Haaland. It’s neck and neck. Mbappe has better team mates, he’s got Neymar as a buddy and Neymar is top 5 at the very least. Who has Haaland got? Sancho? Reus? The two of them put together are not as good as Neymar. Football is a team sport. An average player in a world class team would appear better than a top quality player in a team full of shït. |
elampiro:Pogba is the best midfielder in England. It’s unfortunate he plays for a club where he’s expected to defend, attack, score goals, make tackles, create goals, etc. One world class player surrounded by mostly shit. |
elampiro:The best comeback was preventing City from winning the PL at the Etihad on their supposed coronation day. Nothing will beat that game for years to come. Those who have seen Man City’s Amazon documentary of their fans crying at half time hoping they win the game and the title that day would understand how massive that game was. Down by 2 goals against Pep only for United to turn the screw in 45 mins with 3 goals is the stuff legends are made of. Pogba cemented his world class status that evening. |
Chelsea and City in the semis while some moröns on this thread are saying Ole has made significant progress. |
