There are many many midfielders in the PL that would screw up that pass. McFred would have either delayed the pass or overhit it.

The brilliance of this pass isn’t only the vision, it’s the execution. The trivela technique was the reason why the ball went around Saliba.

You have to also consider the weight of the pass. If applied wrongly, it would be underhit and the 2 Arsenal defenders would have cut the pass out. If overhit, if would have gone straight to Ramsdale.

Eriksen is the most comfortable player in possession out of all the options DDG had and it was Eriksen that demanded for the ball the most by sprinting towards DDG.

DDG had few seconds to decide whom to play the ball to. Shaw and Maguire have let him down in the past and Eriksen looked ready to receive the ball.
