A whole iPhone 13pro max having just 64gb rom same as my Tecno poorboy 3 plus. What a poor spec if you ask me.
There’s no 13 Pro Max with 64GB. The lowest storage is 128GB and it’s up to 1TB.

Why do you people lie without shame?

The fee is the subject here, it was outrageous and it set up a chain of other outrageous transfer fees and wages.

To put it in perspective Pogba will earn less wage at Juve this season compared to what he earned in United despite Juve not paying a transfer fee.
United’s wage structure is the cause. Every club has its own unique wage structure. United was paying Rooney about £300K/week as far back as 2014.

Pogba’s wage was commensurate to his level of talent as at 2016. He was one of the best young players in the world and he arrived at United when a dross like Luke Shaw was already on £195K/week.

The tax code in Italy is different. In Italy, a foreign player’s tax liability is capped at €100k to attract foreign players to Serie A. So his take home pay in Italy is €7.9m

In England, He’s on high income tax bracket, he’s taxed at almost 50%. Meaning €14m United offer nets him only €7m.

So he is pocketing more money at Juventus than what United offered him.

Pogba worked at United. He won few trophies at United that United could have only won considering their level.

We literally brought scholes back from retirement cuz we didn't invest in the team. Few injuries and our team looked like something else. Ferguson was shuffling around and covering for the parasites.
Kroos, Modric, David Silva, Yaya Toure, etc and so many other talents were available in the summer of 2011. Alex Ferguson told us there was no value in the market and brought back a 38 year-old Scholes in January 2012. cheesy grin

Lol, son of man is tired. They want us to spend 2billion on transfers.
I know you love the Glazers to a fault but this is to let you know the Glazers experiment has cost Man Utd £1.6 billion.

Without them, that amount would have gone into squad investment and fixing the deplorable state of the stadium.

And back to the topic that United have been competitive or matching their immediate rivals in the transfer market, this is the true picture of the last 5 years(which is more relevant than the last 10 years).

And whose fault is that? The fans?

If the board is incompetent and cannot get rid of the players that don’t suit the current manager’s philosophy, how is that the fault of the fans?

If the board is also idiotíc that they are giving mediocre players a fat contract, how is that the fault of the fans? I don’t understand the basis of your argument.

It wasn’t about its spending strategy, that is argument for day.
The club isn’t spending.

For the club to spend, they have to replace the old bags and they aren’t doing that. If they were replacing at a quicker rate like the other clubs do, they would be forced to spend.

It’s you who’s not getting the logic, I’ll break it down for you.
Your transfer model is totally different from City’s. The latter has a more efficient model.

They don’t buy overpriced players and don’t dish out bumper pay any how+ they don’t run their players dry before selling, Hence the players are easier to offload, look at the sales of Sterling to Chelsea and Jesus to Arsenal for example. They get some money from these sales and only need to add small change to get better quality and sometimes pay these guys lower wages than the outgoing players. That’s good business if you ask me.

You guys on the other hand pay way above market rate for average players or players that have passed their prime and you expect such players to leave, coupled with the bogus wage, you expect a club to inherit such. Imagine Pogba had to leave for free, a record signing for that matter, that’s a huge loss.

Players most times won’t want to leave for less. There lies your issue and reason for low turn over as you pointed.

I still remember how Bastian Schweinsteiger and Rooney had to be forced out.
So you have gone back full circle to put the blame on the board. The same thing I did when you jumped out of nowhere to attack my comment.

You people are just hilarious. cheesy grin

This was the PL clubs’ revenue in 2014/15.

United were by far raking in the most money and signing the most useless players among the top clubs in the PL.

Loool, so your definition of spending is how much spent on transfers as a percentage of revenues? cheesy

Oya, add Chelsea, tell me what percentage of their turnover is spent on transfers?
They have all outspent Man Utd in comparison to their turnovers.

All those time Ferguson was covering up for the Glazers that there was no value in the market, City was spending good money on Yaya Toure, Aguero, Kompany, Balotelli, etc.

By the time Ferguson sauntered into his retirement, Man City were ripe to start reaping their benefits. It’s not a surprise they have now won more PL titles than Chelsea and Arsenal in such a short period of time.

That is ambition.

Why are you guys not selling?

Cos you keep giving players bloated contracts that no other club will want to pay, yet you don’t want to let them go for free, so you renew.

There lies your problem.
So it’s the fans that will sell players, not the board?

Whenever you people are cornered with your daft logic, you quickly jump into another issue.

After 2 seasons, Pep had signed 22 players at Man City. That is a board and a club that has ambition to ensure Pep succeeds. They got him the players that fit into his philosophy.

Pep inherited Joe Hart(England’s #1), he said he didn’t want him and signed Claudio Bravo. Bravo didn’t work after few months and Pep signed Ederson in the next summer window. That’s ambition and it can only come from the board.

They release funds. It’s the management’s responsibility to develop a good recruitment strategy, with the manager.

Most owners don’t do anything related to football. They employ good hands to do the right thing, which the Glazers have done. We currently have ‘footballing’ people hired to support the CEO and other directors. What else do you want?
So to your understanding, the Glazers release £500m every transfer window and it’s the CEO & DOFs that cannot get good players?

What transfer records did you break?

You people will be talking about issues that happened 6 years ago. KDB is the only player left in the City XI that wasn’t signed by Pep.

United still have players signed by Ferguson(De Gea, Jones), LVG(Shaw and Martial), Mourinho(Bailly, Lindelof, Fred, Dalot) and there lies the problem.

No one cares about the money spent in the past. The past belongs where it belongs. A new manager needs his own type of players to flourish.

Lol. You guys always refer to the glazers as the board. When things go wrong, it’s either they sell or resign. Why not direct your grievances at the CEO, scouts and directors of football? Similar to what we do to players and the manager.
If the funds aren’t forthcoming from the owners, there’s little the CEO, Scouts and DOFs can do. You need to get on Amazon Prime TV and watch Man City’s documentary “All Or Nothing”.

City complete their deals within a week. The right people are in place and money is no issue. They identify a player, they offer their bids and a deal is completed without hassles. It all stems from the owners.

If I give you N5000 to get me a car instead of giving you N50m, I am setting you up to fail. It’s as simple as that. They chased De Jong for 2 months and ended up not getting him because they cannot cover the debt owed by Barca.

When Varane joined, we looked like a club with ambitions then, finished 2nd in the league and hoping to do better the next season. You think Casemiro will leave somewhere he's assured of at least one trophy per season to come and play Europa and get beaten by mediocre teams week in week outhuh

If he joins I'll be ecstatic, but it's very unlikely.
So when Varane joined, United were on their way into winning a Treble in Europe?

Footballers are mercenaries and Madrid have already replaced Casemiro with 2 French monsters(Camavinga and Tchouameni).

If the price is right, Casemiro can be persuaded to come and get a starting position. It would benefit both parties.

United have already withdrawn their De Jong bid. It’s very important they invest in a player of similar quality and Casemiro fits that role. Rabiot is a French McTominay. He will not improve the midfield.

You are right. We don’t move players on ASAP. I guess we want to keep them around until we extract all the good in them.
They said it was Woodward’s strategy to keep offering them new contracts to keep their value high.

I was shocked when I heard that Matic, Mata, Cavani, Pogba were all offered new contracts but they turned them down and moved on.

So if they had accepted, they would still be United players. That’s how bad our recruitment strategy has been. We take too long to get rid of old players.

True, but Madrid also recruited managers and bought players that did not fit into their philosophy.
The difference is Madrid almost always buys quality players and they quickly get rid of poor quality.

That way, whatever method of playing a new manager wants, the Madrid players can easily adapt.

Man Utd buy poor quality players who are only suited to one style of playing. If a new manager wants a different approach, United players cannot adapt to the new methods.

AWB, Maguire, De Gea, Shaw, McFred, etc are all useless to the way Ten Hag wants to play. You can’t play a high line with these players and De Gea is never a sweeper keeper.

I have no doubt Mourinho would have made legends out of AWB and Maguire cos he favors low blocks over the high line.

In low blocks, Maguire can be very good but with the modern football methods that Ole/ETH are preaching, Maguire is totally useless to it. He’s got no recovering pace.

The pressed player received the ball and lost the ball. Eriksen could have kicked the ball hard out of touch or play a simple back pass to De Gea - but he tried to play it wide and the pressing player anticipated Eriksen’s move and got the ball.

That was Eriksen’s fault. He’s not strong enough.
