i don't know about supporting; I refer to Christians praying for Israel. Supporting involves taking sides or helping with their fight. But praying for Israel, for world peace, for kings, rulers, presidents, etc is a standard biblical christian practice.
Christians all over the world should always pray for Jews, because they are our blind big brothers. That's what the Bible teaches, they are the main plant, we are just grafted in in this Gentile times of grace.

Wasting billions to temporarily "solve" an issue for three months. And then what next? They're on their own. Suffering continues, while they ride in foreign cars worth over 150 million naira. Same people who had the audacity to hoard ordinary noodles and rice in warehouses all over the country, during a period the whole country was on lockdown and people couldn't work to feed. Abeg shift.

Of course, i ignored it for many reasons, the chief being that that is not what we are talking about. We are talking about why the FG (executive) should give or not give 25,000naira to extremely poor people for 3 months. You are bringing in spending of legislators. Maybe you'll also bring in judicial rascality or Tinubu's date of birth. These are different issues. Whether these poor people are given their 25,000 or not, the legislators will still do what they will do. That is NOT a business of this thread or discussion.
Giving poor people money is not a waste, it's unfortunate you have such an opinion, Samuel. You will have to be very naive to assume that not giving them that money will improve the lives of the poor better or somehow get them better roads and schools in the 3 months at that cost.
The 25,000 is not and was never intended as a solution("solve" wink

, but a cushion/palliative/subsidy against the current harsh conditions brought about by the removal of fuel subsidies.

i want to believe that you understand that the money is not for people like you or for everybody. It is designated for the poorest and most vulnerable, especially people in very remote places, old people and the disabled(people in extreme poverty). That kind of family. Most of these people that the money is TARGETED at will thank you and spend minutes "praying" for you if you give them just 500 naira. So 25,000 will indeed go a long way in their lives. Far better than NOTHING that you seem to be proposing.
Plans and budgets to build roads, transport systems, schools, and jobs are different from this payment. This payment was demanded by labour unions and promised by the FG (executive). You can help monitor that one and allow the poor people breathe instead of arguing against them getting this.

Something more beneficial to communities.

Better than it never been there. Some people start "business" with 10,000. Some it's just 50,000. Some may use it to pay outstanding debt or someone's fee, hospital or school. That 75000 may help some families not to worry about something you feel it's insignificant for the next 1year.
It's still people that asked for the poor and most vulnerable to be subsidized. Now government subsidized them, you're still complaining. Na wa oh.
What's the something else government should use the money to do? Have they not been doing all the something else for decades?
