hakeem4: no special pleading here.
What do you mean by higher realm?
Omniscient knowing everything. Omnipresent Everywhere at every time Omnipotent having unlimited power.
Can god create a rock he cannot lift ? Realm refers to sphere, department, class, domain, region or spectrum. Many people feel the realm of logic is the greatest or highest. You for example, will expect everything to be reasonable and logical. Unfortunately, everything is not reasonable and logical. Everything is not scientific or calculation. The laboratory is very different from real life. As much as you revere the laboratory and expect anything true or believable to be subject to it, things do not work that way. Love is what everyone seems to know or feel so let me use it as an example. Love is a reality, it is an emotion that everyone speaks well of. i guess you will agree that love is not in the class of reason or logic or commonsense? Yet many would rather choose love. It is in a similar vein that God is not in the class of logic or commonsense. Many atheists will say He needs to be in that class/realm for Him to exist. Do you say the same for love? We will both agree that love MAY agree with logic, but it does not always agree. Actually, i would argue that it does not usually agree. The take away is this, there are realities that do not operate by and are not subject to the realm/class of logic. It does not make them lesser. If you understand this little take away, you may proceed to the second. It is that God is not in the class of logic. It doesn't mean He is unreasonable or illogical, like we will not say every love or anger or emotion is illogical and unreasonable. God is not a subject of logic or reasoning. He operates above it. This is beyond most of you's class, so i do not really expect you all to catch it. The ones who are smart enough to learn will learn. Some will be too proud and quickly unlearn it. They'd perhaps mutter a few curses like children of goliath. Your definitions of the Omnis are your definition. So what is the Bible's definition? Or why do you tjink God is omni anything? Oh, the rock question. Can man create something he cannot lift? Every day. Is there a law or book or course or agreement that says God should/must lift every rock He makes? |

atheistandproud: As a child I was taught in Bible school as well as by a man, Uncle Chris, a dedicated JW who taught me the Bible thrice every week that God was omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent.
Omniscient means knowing every thing. To quote a verse, "he that seeth the end from the beginning".
Omnipresent means being everywhere at once. "His spirit moved across the length and breadth of the land searching for one good man".
Anyway according to the same Bible in Job, Satan is also omnipresent as well. Lol.
Then you have omnipotent or all powerful.
These three features are fundamental godlike properties that are only ascribed to the ultimate deity of the Christian pantheon.
Christians have always claimed two conflicting positions.
1. Not knowing the mind of their favourite deity.
2. Knowing what he wants.
Those who have observed very well will tell you that these are interestingly used in varying situations as a cop out from difficult questions and situations.
If YHWH is omniscient and he has a plan and his plan is good, when you pray for something different, you're essentially asking him (hypothetically, that's if he exists) to change his mind. Do you honestly believe as a mere mortal, you know better than the supreme deity of the Christian pantheon so much as to even think his plan is wrong and yours is right? So if you don't know as well as god does, isn't prayer futile?
If your plan and god's are in the same line? Doesn't it make it prayer a pointless effort as god's will is going to be done regardless?
Finally, in the larger picture or on the grand scheme of things, the earth on which we live in is in a backwater solar system on the far side of the galaxy. Do you think that if a supreme galactic overlord exists, a tiny human can change his mind?
God is not perfect, he actually regretted that he had created humans in genesis. Did the all seeing and all knowing dude fail to see the future? That means he's no omniscient then.
Can we imagine now, for example that the lady who was killed in church, that was god's plan for her life from birth because well... mysterious ways blah blah blah?
Don't you think that she believed god loved her too and that bad things are not her portion?
Let me finish with Epicurus... You asked so many questions all at once, hope you were not crying when asking. This is a symptom of problems in the brain. Try one step at a time so you don't fall off a 13storey. |

hakeem4: Well, god cannot be omniscient and omnipresent at the same time. it is logically incoherent. it is like calling someone a married bachelor.
the sooner we tell ourselves the truth that prayers solve nothing the better for us God is not subject to logic and reasoning, He is in a higher realm. That being said, you are the one sounding incoherent here. What is the definition of Omniscient and omnipresent as presented in the Bible and how do you understand it? |
Christianity Etc › Re: Can A PAGAN Go To Heaven? by Image123(m): 10:16pm On Jun 28, 2020 |
Maximus69: OP threw a question to everyone, say what you know and leave others to say their own Sir. It's Pharisees that always try to silence others from airing their views not Christians! Act 4:18, 5:28
If you're a competent Bible student {2Timothy 3:17} you will not be intimidated by what others say {2Timothy 2:15 compare to Isaiah 54:17} you'll air your own views and let the truth speak for himself {John 8:32} Jesus is alive! Hebrew 13:8
So say what you know and leave others Sir! Lol at intimidated. Why do you feel your words intimidate others? Do you try to make your words intimidate others? i know your modus operandi and i already saw your rubbish about being the one and only true denomination out of 41000 groups. Where you get your statistics is the real miracle here. i guess from Asleep as usual. You live in a bubble that's the problem you have. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Can A PAGAN Go To Heaven? by Image123(m): 9:09pm On Jun 28, 2020 |
Maximus69: This case is complicated already but if you love God, yourself and your neighbour you'll be saved! Mark 12:28-31
To love God requires deep interest in what God wants so you need accurate knowledge about his laws (likes and dislikes) {1John 5:3} then you must love your neighbour as yourself, this means you should try all within your power to help those around you know God's likes and dislikes, that's why you need to have the accurate knowledge about God.
As for Christianity, there are over 2.3 billion people scattered in over 41,000 religions claiming Christians today. Well out of all those 41,000 groups only one belongs to Jesus, so to know what Christianity entails you need to IDENTIFY Jesus' real group out of all these imitations!
Satan knows that without Jesus nobody can be saved {John 14:6} that's why he (Satan) formed so many religions claiming Christians, this is to deceive people who may love to become Jesus' friend after reading the Bible.
So let me assure you that being a Christian involves much more than gathering with religionists and praying in Jesus name, it requires dedication and hard work! Luke 13:24
God bless you! this fella has come here again to share Asleep magazine. Just watch him. |

niceguy555: Hello everyone. I have been bothered by this thought and would like to be clarified. I have this relative of mine who is a very good man. When I say good I meant that he is charitable, accomodating and trouble less and people like him. But he doesn't go to church because he is not a christain. Rather, he is an idol worshipper. I do know that christainity has a connection to God and his kingdom. Jesus Christ while on earth showed us the essense of establishing relationship with his father (GOD). Now the question, will this my relative go to heaven after he must have lived his life here on earth or he won't make heaven because is a pegan? Share your opinion There's none good but God. Any man without Jesus is corrupt. He's like a corrupt hard disk with good files inside. The hard drive is corrupt nonetheless no matter how many gigabytes of good and important files it contains. What it needs is an antivirus or formatting, not more good files. His file will read corrupt at the gates of Heaven, not good or kind. |

The primary reason for education is to be enlightened, all other things are secondary. Hence the saying, let the study pass through you and not you to pass through the study.
