Jesus Christ's church however is not of the world and so unaffected by government nor the whims of humans.

Jesus Christ does not expect or command anyone to love his enemy as himself. Come of your wine already, it seems your lack of church is impacting you negatively.

Church businesses aren't the only ones impacted so the call coming from Christians ought to be fsir to other businesses,is what i believe.

Not all church is business in the sense that you see it. There is no biblical responsibility to love your enemy as yourself, that's an exercise in futility if not foolery itself. If you feel concerned for businesses to be opened, you are free to plead their cause. It is not compulsory for christians to.

There is no bias there, i am not their mouthpiece. i have never said be shut due to coronavirus. i really do not see why you need me to be an advocate for their opening. i speak for what concerns me. Mosques, Bars, Nightclubs/Strip clubs, Gyms, Spas do not concern me.

There is nothing i'm fighting for. i simply told someone that what he said about Oyedepo and Adeboye were commonsense and should not be misconstrued as confusion. If you have guilty conscience about opening up brothels and mosques, you are free to speak for them or protest for them. i'm not interested in or responsible for them.

Mosques churches schools, nysc orientation camps ,clubs ,ashawo houses, parties...... have all been shut down for the same reason. They are not essential to life and economy.

You say this because you are an unbeliever. A Christian does not think that way. Church is a vital part of life and priority for a Christian. Fortunately, we've been able to have fellowship using other means like home cells, online, radio and TV. So the church marches on. That you call it half truth proves that you saw truth in it. Your complement of clubs and brothels is what is skewed. Even those who visit such places don't plaçe it at par with church.
If you can spend 10hours daily mingling in the market, bus and work. Nothing should stop social distance with mask and sanitizer for 3hrs in church once a week or even daily.

i don't know about and cannot speak for TB and pastor Chris. But the other two still join na. Holiday no be forever, e dey end. Oyedepo's point is clear and common sense. You should not let people go every other place and do every other thing except church. Except you have an agenda, it makes no sense. There's no social distance or whatever in the market, bus, place of work where everyone is spending hours daily. So is it 3 or 4 hours in organised church with ushers and co that corona will catch you? It's common sense.

Believing in God or being religious is not a passport to becoming rich. True christians do not teach that. That is what we attack as "prosperity doctrine". The Bible clearly shows the need for hardwork, diligence and a combination of factors to becoming financial prosperity. One road alone does not enter the market like they say.

Many things can make one a believer or unbeliever. In the real fact, adversity draws people to God than prosperity. So i do not know where you heard that people become atheists because of hardship. The Bible says the opposite and Africa and poor countries show that poor people usually are more attracted to religion.

Nobody said God cannot be understood, do not jump the gun in adolescent excitement. If we did not understand God, how would we follow Him? We've said, not everything about God is explained by logic or subject to logic. A miracle for instance may not be rational.

Love is easily explained as an emotion supporting simple biological processes. Modern science has isolated the chemicals involved in the feelings and the programming that causes the release of these chemicals is inbuilt and a result of evolution. The word is often used for other purposes which have their own explanations. There is no external force called ‘love’ it is merely an umbrella term for some human emotions. It in no way supports the idea of God.

I don’t know what the bible describes god as but I know it made so many large claims like

1) he created human
2) he created the universe.

But our current understanding doesn’t support the idea of a creator

i did not ask for what causes love, the process or chemicals. i did not even say love supports God. i said like you said that love is an emotion. i also said love is not subject to logic or reasoning. Since you did not seem to understand this simple statement, let me explain it. (It is funny though that you want to fully understand God, if you cannot even understand simple statements about love or some of your classwork).

You must have seen people "in love". Maybe some are even your relatives, brother, sister or even you. They have that emotion, call it whatever name, infatuation, obsession whatever. There's that EMOTION they have that defies reason. And sometimes the whole family and friends are logically wondering what this girl sees in this guy and vice versa. The point here is that this EMOTIONs exists everywhere. They are undeniable. Yet you cannot fully subject them to logic or reasoning. They are in a different class. They do not operate by reason or logic only.

You should of course understand God, i did not say you should not understand God. However you cannot FULLY understand God. You continue to grow in your understanding. i guess that pretty much goes for anything. You continue to research and discover. The problem with you though is that you expect to fully understand God before anything serious. Life does not work that way. Work does not work that way, marriage does not work that way, even medicine does not work that way. Again NOTE CAREFULLY, God is not averse to or mutually exclusive to logic and reason. i said He is greater than it, He transcends it. He is not subject to it. You cannot say for instance that anything that does not enter your logic is false or unreal.

When you ask why Christianity, i think you are deviating. But lemme answer you succinctly. Because Christianity makes claims and results that none else makes.
