AzurV: So i once became a Spiritualist/Atheist. Basically i was having an Existential crisis and got tired of anything christian. Even picked up philosophy. It was in this said process that i cracked open a book that really helped me out
Mere Christianity by C.S.Lewis
Basically he a former Atheist attempted and succeeded at least imo to show that there is a God and that he is the Christian God. So for all those wondering, as well as all Atheists. I dare you to read this book.
Ciao Good book. |

Candoit: The wisdom of men is foolishness unto God. Be a true child of God and see your faith work for you. That same Jesus you quoted said, "if only you have faith as little as a muster seed, you shall say to this mountian, be moved and it shall move".
Don't be little your God and exalt any disease or infection . What you fear, you cannot conquer. You're giving motivational speech, well done oh. i directed you to learn from Jesus. Is the wisdom of Jesus not God's wisdom again. All these pastor boys them, na wa. You think Jesus didn't have faith when He asked the disciples to flee from impending death and disaster? It's not everything that is gra gra, get wisdom. Na bible talk am. |

SeanBeezy: Nah bro, I'd rather advice all Christians to study God's words meticulously for a better understanding and also believe whole heartedly without fear or doubts, then they're good to go. That's after you've accepted Christ as your Lord and personal saviour first! It follows that sequence It's not going to happen. The unity of faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, a perfect man, the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ is not going to happen until Christ comes. If you know that we're not even close to it, then it's not wise to order people to do things they cannot do. Jesus had commonsense to gauge His disciples faith as little faith at a time. Living in denial is not faith, it's deceit. |

effectz123: Nobody is tempting. And I don't know why Christians are always using the term test, tempt when it comes to covid 19. The words he said about covid is God's truth. You might not be living in that reality but aspire to grow to that level. Don't start contradicting what the word of God says because you want to be correct at all times. He should actually be in isolation centres casting out devils and laying hands on emergency patients in their dozens in an atmosphere for miracles. It is very convenient to sit in the church studio and tell poor listeners forced to go out of lockdown to go and do things beyond their level. It is wickedness and will only bring tears and ridicule, unbelief and backsliding. |

Candoit: Death could not hold Jesus captive. Who then is coronavirus?
For God has exalted Jesus above every other name. That at the mention of Jesus Christ every knee must bow. i like your faith, but remember faith without work is dead faith. Talk is cheap, how many corona patients have you mingled with? Let's not tempt you though. Learn from Jesus. Where there are steps/stairs, use them. Don't jump down claiming you cannot dash your feet against stone. Wisdom is the proper application of knowledge. What you know and apply about the virus should be made profitable to direct you. EXCEPT you have rhema from God, don't die before your time. |

SeanBeezy: Exactly what I said initially. It only takes one who deeply knows the word of God to exercise such faith. Good. So all Christians should not be misled into touching infection. You can still pray for people without touching them by the way. |

petra1: When a serpent bit paul he only shook it into the fire. Jesus said greater works shall we do. I'm not aware jesus will say a disease is contagious he wont pray. WhT have we turned christianity to Unfortunately the reality is that we cannot all be Paul in this sense. Even Paul asked a rhetorical question whose answer is capital NO. 1Cor12:29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? We are not all workers of miracles or apostles. It is wrong to guilt trip and even mislead many to do what they cannot. By the way, the serpent fastened on Paul's hand, not bit him, though it's besides the point. You turn Christianity into a laughing stock and ridicule by tempting people into infection. Touching covid 19 patients likely result in infection. That is a normal known fact. Goading normal christians to do the abnormal is tantamount to tempting God. 90% of those who follow that instruction will see the repercussions. You don't need the gift of prophecy to know that. |

petra1: I agree with you
Jesus gave a mandate .
Luke 10:19 19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. We both know that the disciples didn't go about literally treading on serpent and scorpions. If anyone breaks an hedge, the serpent will bite him. Jesus Himself was never power drunk. He had power but had to depend on God not on power or mandate. It is foolish to do things simply because you have power to. Jesus had power to call angels. He had power to turn stones to bread. But he also exercised wisdom. He was not a powerful bull in a China shop. |

SeanBeezy: As if Christ was born in a hospital or Joseph sought after Mary's genotype before marrying her. Come on bro, how many times has God shown his supremacy over science that you still don't believe? Sarah gave birth at old age, Jesus rose from the dead after 3 days, even here on nairaland, there was a news about a non compatible couple genotypically who got married and gave birth to healthy kids! Baba things happen, God is supreme! God is Supreme and Wonderful, yes. i believe in and experience the miraculous. The point is that everybody does not have faith. The whole world cannot live on one person. What i have faith for, you may not have faith for. And vice versa. So don't tell everyone to do things they cannot do. David's faith didn't reach raising dead children, Elijah's faith did. The two of them are challenges to us all, but we don't live by them. It is to every man according to his faith. You don't cause people to sin(whatever is not of faith is sin) by your personal strength. Paul was rugged, but Timothy was not. Paul told him to take other things for his sickness. |

Happycharles: Great examples of men of faith. The gift of faith is one of the gifts of the Spirit. Just like Rhema, it does not work every time or for every person. It is specific and time bound. You don't go and walk on the river claiming Jesus told Peter to, you will drown and cause scoffers to make a mockery of the faith. Jesus said it to Peter and for just that period. Peter didn't eternally continue walking on water. You don't go and pour water into wine jars or oil into pots because "It is scriptural". Those are specifics, Rhema. While it is possible for God to use someone to demonstrate His glory by touching and healing the sick. It is not a calling of every Christian every time. There is time for everything including this. |

SeanBeezy: In the bible days, leprosy was considered one of the worst diseases, it was even contagious, but Christ LAID HANDS on those lepers and they were healed. His apostles too did similar miracles in Jesus' name. What am I trying to say? Anyone who really is a child of God and has the understanding of the word of God in him/her attains a different level of grace. It's just simple Talking about spirituality and reality, if reality was to be considered, Christ's disciples wouldn't even have performed miracles because in your context, it's impossible Don't be ridiculous please. There's a reason Christians go to the hospital to give birth, do blood tests and other tests before marriage etc. Faith is not a substitute for commonsense. God gives the two. Wisdom is profitable to direct. |
