Was any of them captured alive? Were they killed, were they shot? The video just repeats endlessly some pandemonium. We really need critical thinking and investigative journalism. Buhari is clearly deceiving himself. How can his Aides make such an "over-zealous" order without his (Buhari's) permission? Why did it take public condemnation before his party reversed it? Are the Aides not the same people that will serve his government? Did he fire them or suspended them if they acted overboard?

The truth is that Buhari wanted to introduce Decree 2 through the backdoor with AIT as a test run. If he had got his way, it would have paved way for him to do worse.

The same OP and his paid crew here were justifying the action of Alhaji Buhari in tandem with their undemocratic manner. They just realised that Nigerians are resolved to resist the silly move.

Buhari can continue to lie to himself and even blame Aisha, but we won't allow him act with impunity.
i guess Jonathan has been deceiving himself all the while when he was telling us he was not consulted, or allowing Patience, FFK, Fayose, Asari, TAN and co to run their mouth garrulously and shamelessly. Do you remember Jonathan's aides and boys teargassing lawmakers, rigging Ekiti elections on behalf of the President, disgracing us with Morocco and South Africa and so forth? Do those have the President's permission? All those soldiers and police men taking bribes and punishing/maltreating civilians, teh Army lying about Chibok girls rescue, boko haram ceasefire, do they all have the President's permission. Has President Jonathan fired Diezani Alison-Madueke already or Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala under whose watch over 400billion naira went missing these past few weeks and yet the naira got devalued? Has he fired them for the current fuel crises as the money was there(156billion) but they had to wait till fuel scarcity before NOI came to tell us on TV that she was ABOUT TO go and sign 156billion?

I am well aware of that news. That was in 2013 and we all condemned that even thought is also well accepted that there are reservations to that law too. For example, matters bothering on national unity and security are off the FOI. Between 2013 and 2015, there has been a lot of transformation or gradual change as to the understanding of the FOI bill on both the side of the government and the press hence I haven't heard of such incident until recently where Ait was restricted to cover the president elect which clearly to me a direct payback to the incidents of the campaign period. I don't see anything wrong with AIT airing those documents during before the elections. As I said earlier, Ait is a media house and I expected apc to have even said they approached Ait to advertise or air some advocating documents but they refused. I never heard GEJ complaining or baring any media house. Even on social media, people call him all sorts of name not minding the Nigerian pride associated with the seat of the presidency. In a country Like Nigeria @ this stage, we need media houses like channels and we need more daring media house like Ait and sahara reports.
What FOI? Lets stop deceiving ourselves please. What information is free? The whereabouts of the first lady or the amount of money she is paid? Her properties or that of the President? The legislative allowances or the breakdown? What information exactly? How is TAN funded? How much was used for the Jonathan campaign and from where? Are these information free? How many cars does Okupe have or how many hotels and houses does President Jonathan have? What exactly is Freedom of Information that we are bandying around? Is it the right of AIT to stalk Buhari, that is FOI to you? Do you think really that Buhari has no rights too to screen journalists that hover around him like vultures? How can you not see ANYTHING wrong with AIT airing calumny and lies during or before elections? Even after NBC said no station should campaign, they continued with impunity all day 24hours to election. Why should you or anyone expect APC to go and be advocating documents whatever that means? Do you think they do not have plans? Should they live their lives by whatever nonsense Fani-Kayode has to say? So if FFK or Okupe says rubbish about Buhari or APC, all APC should do is go and rebut and be advocating documents and explaining or refuting every lie? Nobody went to media houses or stooped as low as the PDP during the campaigns telling lies and calumny. Nobody went personal on GEJ or called him clueless and whatever other degrading words on NTA or Channels or TVC. Any bad thing you heard about GEJ was uncontrollable by the government. Lack of control is not the same thing as FOI. Our government lacks the ability and security to control Nairaland or Facebook or Twitter. If they could trace or get to people damaging them, they would. This is a far cry from them putting a leash on the likes of Fayose, Asari, Patience Jonathan, Okupe, friends of Nigeria, TAN and other silly associations that came out openly on NTA and other stations to speak unprintable words against the person of Buhari.
Christianity Etc › Re: How Do You Know You Have The Holy Spirit? by Image123(m): 11:57pm On May 01, 2015
ATMC:
^thank you. But from your post I understood the Holy Ghost indwelling of us confirms we are God's children. But image123 I'm wondering how this can be ie man laying hands on another in order to receive the Holy Ghost according to the apostles? Jesus received the Holy Ghost without a laying on of hands and when he met with his disciples after resurrection, he said to them 'receive the holy ghost' but he didn't lay hands on them. Why this laying on of hands? Paul did it but the Jesus we follow didn't do it. It kind of makes me wonder if Holy Ghost is really God...for being commanded into man and for being ministered into man by man. You get?
You're welcome. About laying of hands, God is limitless and the 'mother' of invention. In Him dwells all the fullness of wisdom. There are different roads to Rome as it were. Spirits can be 'transferred' in different ways and through several mediums. If you've ever seen or heard people with familiar spirits or witches confess, you would hear how some became initiated or possessed through VARIOUS means. Some through ordinary buscuits(especially the little ones). Some move into their 'spirit world' just by a touch or standing/posing in a particular way/place. God is much more powerful. He heals through different ways and moves in different means. Jesus raised a dead man by touching his bier. Another dead man Lazarus was not raised that same way. Some were healed by Jesus speaking the word only, some had to go to the pool of Siloam and have spittle and sand mixed etc. Similarly, transference of spirit can take different means.
When God transferred spirit/breath to Adam, He breathed into his nostrils.
Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
When God transferred a double portion of Elijah's spirit(which is the Holy Spirit BTW) to Elisha, He used a symbolic mantle. When Jesus breathed on the disciples, He said that they should receive the Spirit, though the baptism came later after the ascension. In the Acts of the apostles, people received the Holy Spirit in different ways. The 120 were simply in one accord in the upper room. Some others had hands laid on them, some it was simply prayer.
Act 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

Some people received the Holy Ghost by laying of hands before Paul was converted BTW, so it wasn't a Pauline method or invention.
Act 8:17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
Act 8:18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,

Laying on of hands is just a means(popular) means by which the Holy Ghost can be received. It is by no way the only means as shown already. However, it is a good means and 'biblical' means. The Holy Ghost is not in the laying of the hands, or in the handkerchief, or in the breathing/blowing of air. He can use any of the means and He can choose not too. He is not magic where you/anyone says the right set of incantations/recitations and the door opens or the genie appears. He has a will of His own and can choose to come or not come. Not everyone hands are laid on gets the Holy Ghost. In fact, you can lay hands, blow air, spit, physically manhandle and 'rake' somebody and no sort of ghost will come.

1Ki 19:11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and broke in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:
1Ki 19:12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

From this passage, at this time, God used a still small voice. before the Israelites in the wilderness, it was with great thunderings and wind. Before Moses, it was a burning bush etc. For Jesus, He came as a dove descending, for the 120 it was with cloven tongues as of fire accompanied by a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind. God is not limited.
Prayer is not a command but a request to God. Perhaps, personalities differ but God looks at our hearts and motives as well. Why we may look as if commanding, God sees and acts on faith, and chooses to respect/honour and respond to our faith/belief in His promises.

Are you for or against what Sibe007 posted?
How is it a wrong division of the Word of Truth and as private as a private interpretation gets?
What exactly has Sibe007 "twisted"?
How or where exactly has Sibe007 "twisted"?
Read below.

Sibe007:
2 Timothy 2:15 Rightly divide the Word of Truth.

1 cor 14:
33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people.
34 Women[f] should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says. 35 If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.[g]
36 Or did the word of God originate with you? Or are you the only people it has reached? 37 If anyone thinks they are a prophet or otherwise gifted by the Spirit, let them acknowledge that what I am writing to you is the Lord’s command. 38 But if anyone ignores this, they will themselves be ignored.[h]
39 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues. 40 But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.

Looking at the above, you would see some contradictions. How will Paul say women should be silent in verse 34 and same time say in verse 39. my brothers and sisters, be eager to prophesy and do not forbid speaking in tongues.
There was no contradiction here, it is simply a matter of context. Its a long chapter of about 40 verses. The earlier part had been clear about prophesying and even made allusion to keeping silence.
1Co 14:28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

Of course, keeping silence there is not about being dumb throughout church service but self control/temperance. One may have tongues and yet keep silent. In the latter part of the chapter, the passage talks about women keeping silent instead of teaching in the capacity of a leader or pastor over the men. It is not a contradiction by any means. One talks of prophesying, another of speaking in tongues, another of teaching. These are three different things. There are many activities in church like praying, singing, testimonies, report etc. CONTEXT.

Paul could not have said about women prophesying in 1 Corinthians 11 and go on to say women should be silent in 1 Corinthians 14.

The truth is there is no contradiction. If you follow the story from the beginning, you would see that there was a central theme bothering around orderliness in worship and verse 34 and 35 seems out of place. The reason is because Paul was responding to letters they had written to him, hence verse 34 and 35 was a quote from their letters. They were pointing to their Law, how women were not allowed to speak. Paul questioned them asking if they were the only ones who had God's word or if the Word of God originated from them. In KJV verse 36

36 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?
CONTEXT is different. Prophecy is different from teaching or directing in the capacity of a shepherd or pastor. The establishment, corroboration and interpretation is clearer looking at Timothy.
1Ti 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
1Ti 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to TEACH, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

The issue/context here is TEACHING, not prophesy, not prayer, not singing, not even tongues.

This was an interaction between Paul and the Corinthians, he was responding to a letter they wrote earlier.

1 cor 7:1 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
So the book of 1 Corinthians was Paul's response to their letter to him, and he did quote from their letters directly in his writing to them, which was not properly reflected in the English translation.
Yes, Paul wrote them after a particular letter from them, but you cannot just jump from chapter 7 to chapter 14 to say that Paul was interacting with some invisible letter. Where else is that interaction inbetween? Do we just make up interactions as we feel like? Where is this interaction in chapter 13 for instance or chapter 10? Who determines what is a question and what is an answer from Paul when the text doesn't say so?

The truth was that Paul was rebuking them. He took their quote in verse 34 and 35 and tore it apart. Reading the verses before and the verses after would give more insight.

The point is Paul never said that, the Corinthians said that, and Paul was responding to that.

1Co 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
1Co 14:35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

These are not any interaction but visibly and clearly commands. You may disagree with these commands as opinions or bigoted or sexist or not spiritual or whatever. But don't insult us by telling us that they are quotes from another letter. The pronouns are very clear and straight. If they are from another letter, they should read as follows or similar.
Let our women keep silence in our churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but [s]they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. [/s]
And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in our church.

These are clear commands and the next verses says so.
1Co 14:37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

In other words, if you do not acknowledge that they are commandments of the Lord, you are either not a prophet or spiritual or not thinking well(according to verse 37). Twisting a straight forward command into a question that it is not is not acceptable. If you say you do not understand this part of the Bible or do not agree with this part, fine and better. But telling us that it is a question and answer session, you would do well to show more proof.

Yes it won't but it is this same arrangement that they've been doing for the past four years with little fuel scarcity. These people warned last week that there'd be fuel scarcity this week but our leaders were not proactive. It is this week they are just releasing money. It's the same way ASUU, doctors, and co threaten strike all on deaf ears until the strike eventually begins. Our leaders are too selfish, fuel scarcity doesn't affect them. They don't even pay, they just go to fill their tanks at designated pump stations. Their fuel doesn't fail, they don't need or use our healthcare system or educational institutions. Yet they are one of the most highly paid. We're waiting for change.

Is it by speaking in tongues? What if I live in sin and speak in tongues, do I still have him? And how do I know I do? And what if I'm not speaking in tongues really but I'm being 'carried':-D away by 'everybody-does-it-so-let-me-do-too' syndrome?
Is it by hearing his voice? Is he my conscience?
Is it by the laying on of hands? What if the person that laid hands on me is not accepted of God, can he still transfer the holy spirit?
Abi Holy Spirit cannot live in 'dust'?
Cc Pastor kun Goshen Ihedinobi Humbledbygrace sukkot dagr8 Anonimus Truthislight and others.
Not a straight answer to this, it's akin to asking how do you know that i have a bank account. There are different ways. But to be clear on one point,
Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

If any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. That is succinct enough i guess though it may get confusing for some then. Every child of God has the Spirit of God. However, having the Spirit of God is different from 'receiving' or being baptized or being FILLED with the Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit is God and is limitless, you don't exactly limit Him to one way or style of manifesting His presence. He might be in the fiore, or might be in the still small voice. He might be in the water, He might be in the tongue. The gifts of the Spirit is not the same thing as the Spirit. One may have the gifts but not have the Spirit or be filled with the Spirit. i'll give five5 ways or markers to know if the Spirit of God is manifestly present(or that you 'have Him').
1. He is Holy.
God or the Holy Spirit can use anything, from a rod/stick of Moses to a dumb donkey. Heck, God uses even devil and evil spirits. So, that God is using something or someone is different from being filled with the Spirit. A person filled with the Spirit is holy. The Spirit of God is Holy as His name unobviously implies.

2. He reproves of sin.
Joh 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
Anyone who is filled with the Spirit would have that manifest reproving of sin and purging. There would be a declaration and boldness about what displeases or offends God, or that is not meeting the standards and requirement of God. When you have a pastor or christian leader who only knows about shows and displays and you don't see no reproof of sin. Your guess is very good, he is not filled.

3. He reproves of righteousness.
Where the Holy Spirit is, there is that continuous thirst and hunger for righteousness, more holiness, more purity. Where all you need is more money, or more miracles, or more prophecies, watch it. The real deal will reprove of righteousness.

4. He reproves of judgement.
When someone is full of the Holy Ghost, you cannot forget that you are a stranger and pilgrim. You will remember Jesus is coming and that you should be prepared. You will know that these are the last days and perilous times and realise the need for more closeness to God, trust in God's grace. You will examine yourself even as he/she has helped examine you and given you a kinda reality check according to God's Word. It's more than religion and meetings and contributions, the Holy Ghost prepares you to escape the wrath to come.

5. He is a burning and shining light.
How do you know that somebody is filled with the Holy Ghost? Such a person is like John baptist, like Stephen, like Paul, like Peter, like John the beloved, a burning and shining light. When you listen to, interact with or live with him/her, your heart is supposed to burn. The life and light is supposed to flow, there is that enigma and almost mysterious life. i'm not just talking about charisma but there's an almost permeable transfer even without necessarily preaching or officiating. Paul found some certain disciples, the thing was not clicking. He had to ask/confirm.
Act 19:2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
That something.

As for what they call visa lottery, it is a reasoned and logical process from what i hear. People present many papers and documents and are interviewed, investigated and observed before they are given visas, its the same or almost same process for obtaining visa. Except you will say all visa processing are lottery in the sense of sin or gamble that you are driving at. This is different from buying lotto where all you need is chance. Every good thing involves some measure of taking chances, risks or probability. Medical operation, college application, job interviews, business venture etc all involve some level of 'luck' or probability, but these are not in the same league as what you are advocating.

I've been combining my daily gamblings with prayers and i'm just thinking, can(i know He's able to do all thingS) God bless me through this irrespective of the fact that i'm gambling?
And what about those people that are winning millionS from this, is it not God's blessing?

#peace!
Of course, God blesses everybody, i thought Jesus said that somewhere? If you can and are told to bless your enemies and those that curse you, how much more God?

Mat 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

So, God blesses the just and the unjust, the good and the evil. Like you want to hear it, God may just well bless your hustle. Else, no atheist or sinner will ever be blessed with any good news, promotion, breakthrough, exam success, healing, electoral victory etc. Seedtime and harvest has not ceased and anyone may well be rewarded for his or her persistence, diligence, sowing etc whether good or evil. However, these blessings are not really a mark that God is pleased with you or that you are in the Lamb's book of life. So, what exactly does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul? Jesus Himself asks us this question. God was busy raining manna and supplying miraculous water from the rock for 40 long years, yet He was not pleased with the people. God's mercy, sovereignty, and grace among other factors can get anyone material blessings. But the eternal blessings are only for the faithful, the undefiled. It's your call, your choice. Don't be an Esau.

Act 3:26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

what's ur reason ? Was he not qualified?

What of buhari dat contested without even Ssce?
Why did you say " buhari should have being In jail for 2011 post- election violence"? What is your reason?
Any secondary school leaver is qualified by law, however in "saner" countries, more competent people would govern.

In a sane community buhari should have being In jail for 2011 post- election violence undecided undecided

He should first probe his partners Tinubu, Atiku and OBJ
In a sane country, President Jonathan shouldn't even be President. How about that?

BTW, hope punchng is not lying on this. All the junk journalism in the past years make one skeptical except on seeing video or audio evidence. Junk journalist told us recently that Buhari said he'd make one naira equal to one dollar.

Omo, Buhari should stop saying things that will make this people not to hand over peacefully oh. Let them hand over first, these people are desperate. Wisdom is profitable to direct.

This guy is talking poo. If God is trally offended by the present day church system, he would have done something about it.
Lol, God was offended since Adam and waited many thousand years to send Jesus. God was not pleased with Israelites in the wilderness for 40years but was raining manna and working all sort of miracles in their midst. Examine yourself and others with the sure Word of God, not with unsure and misleading indicators like prosperity, wealth, miracles, so called move of God and signs etc.

lol @Gombs. Of course, a prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian. I've experienced the two and know the difference. BTW, the OP text CLEARLY talks of receiving power AFTER not when the Holy Ghost comes. Caveat though, there are different sources of power just like physically power can be generated in different quantity by sources like solar, hydro, thermal etc.

Because you are lie man, why else. This is the summary.

Deuteronomy 18:22
Holman Christian Standard Bible
When a prophet speaks in the
LORD’s name, and the message
does not come true or is not fulfilled, that is a message the LORD has not
spoken. The prophet has spoken it
presumptuously . Do not be afraid of
him.
New American Standard Bible
"When a prophet speaks in the name
of the LORD, if the thing does not come about or come true, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.
King James Bible
When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that [is] the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, [but] the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
