debosky: Sir, Jesus is saying if you gain the world but lose your soul, you've lost the most important thing. He did not say give me your money so I will give you the highest profit.

God is not a money doubling agent or an investment bank. God is not a trader, neither is he a businessman.
Profit and loss is involved, isn't it? Giving to God remains the most profitable way to give Debo. You don't seem to like the sound of that but it is truth. Giving to God falls under laying treasures in Heaven. i don't get why folks keep limiting or narrowing the context to money money. i didn't mention money, Olaa and his article didn't mention or emphasize money. It is a timeless scriptural truth that if one sows bountiful, he will reap bountiful, GOD is not mocked.

Image123: 1. Did Jesus heal people who were anticipating healing?
2. Did Jesus heal more than one person through a method?
3. Is Jesus present where people are gathered in His name?

Simple yes or no would reduce the beating of the bush.

Liveair: Where is it written that Joseph is Heli's SON-IN-LAW? Is it that you have no comprehension?
If you claim the word [SON] means son-in-law then since same word is used repeatedly in Lk 3, it means Jesus' geneology in Lk is traced through INLAWS.

How silly can this get!
The fact that the same greek word used for son is equally used for remote descendant like son in-law makes it a plausible explanation. Joseph is a son to Mary's father albeit son in law. People that are close use such terms loosely. i can call someone my brother or sister, or father or son, rightly without being biological.

nora544: Don't say Dr. Lake he was never and I say never a doctor ha has no degree, he was never at an University he was a big liar and that PDF is from an University of south africa and and you will see that I have right!
One can be called Dr. without a degree. It's another thing to practice illegally or without license. If that is what offends you, i'll stop for you, don't worry, lol. People are nicknamed prof, chief, chairman, doc. Like some say Dr. Jesus. Lake did more for the sick around him than many medical doctors and academic doctors of his time.

DrummaBoy: Therefore Jesus operated a healing school. abi?

I am not the one beating around the bush, you are. I provided the interaction between us both when it seem you were denying your statement where you admitted that Jesus operated a healing school.

Now that the statement is sounding heretical to you too, you want to deny it. There is no need to answer your question; I won't because it would only blur the issues being discussed. If you are MAN enough, stand by your words.

Image123, you are the one to be held most culpable of all who oppose our discussion here. It is apparent that you know what scriptures say but bc you wish to perpetuate a tradition that is benefitting a small clique, men of God, you choose to oppose clear argument that reveal the errors of these men.

Someone like mbaemeka can be excused but not you.

Or why else do you wish to deny the fact that you admitted that Jesus operated a healing school? Why are you beating around the bush? You need not answer. Its obvious to all.

Good advice.
You WON'T answer the questions because it would blur the issues? That's a most ludicrous thought. Your answers to the questions would rubbish your talk about healing rooms and you don't want that. You don't want the truth, you would rather the praise of men that you're leading to nowhere important. Kindly provide the post where i said that Jesus operated a healing school. You can bold it, colour it etc, you know how to do that well na. Go ahead. i've clearly and repeatedly said there is nothing wrong with a healing school/room/university/college or whatever name. i was also quick to say that a bad practice/operation is a bad practice/operation whether it is found in a church service, crusade, evangelical outreach, cell fellowship, room, school, streets wherever. If that is too deep or complicated for you to comprehend, simply take your time and prayerfully ruminate on it for a while. All the effort to catch me at my words would land you and your conscience in further trouble instead. There is nothing heretical about having a healing school. The principles of a healing school are in the bible.

BabaGnoni: You're doing yourself a great disservice skimming through that FYI

This thread is not about personalities but more of "shine your eyes welu welu" if not its "last chance saloon" situation then.

It isn't really about the contemporary men around us but is more about how they came about their teachings, practices, doctrine (i.e. what or where is the origin)
The "WOF talks" already is showing where and how the contemporary men around us got influenced or indoctrinated by "relics and largely unknown people"

It is from the "relics and largely unknown people" that some contemporary men around us learned:
- to build universities and become chancellors of such universities
- to set up and practice healing rooms or schools
- to wear white suits albeit the international and our own local one don't anymore
- to pursue acquiring private jets
- to be vainglory and puffed up in biggest/largest building(s) in the world
- to merchandise, personalise etc the Gospel
- to acquire bodyguards and/or security personnel
- to etc etc
Doing myself a great disservice how exactly? i'm saved and God loves me and takes care of me (to be simple and brief). Explain what exactly i gain by thinking different of Dr Lake? i don't get how you remain comfortable saying that the thread is not about personalities while ironically i've notseen another thread that so deeply digs up dirt on personalities with glee. For instance, it's yet to be shown how G Lake started healing school as supposed only for the article posted to suggest that John Dowie had one already. Not sweeping under the carpet the fact that the bible records events and principles similar to what is obtainable in a healing school.

Liveair: The two passages deal with JOSEPH; Jesus' father not Mary. Matt 1 starts with king David while Lk 3 simply ends with him(reverse order), but are both through JOSEPH.

Mattew 1:6 "And Jesse begat David the king...
v 7; and Solomon begat Roboam...
v16; And Jacob begat JOSEPH the husband of Marry, of whom was born Jesus..."

Luke 3:13 "And Jesus himself...the son of JOSEPH which was the son of Heli...
v31; ...Mattatha which was the son of Nathan, which was the son of David.

Try to read more before you argue blindly!
Yeah, and Joseph is Heli's son in law, use that brain God gave you please.

Gnoni, i've seen your posts to me (goes for drumb and Nora too) as regards Dr Lake. i'm sorry i could only skim through them saving me the temptation to waste time and resources rebutting them. Don't worry drumb, i'll still read the Nora pdf, already downloaded it sef, i guess that is what Nora pasted abi?
It's not my style to discuss people in absentia, though when i really wanted you guys to relate your WOF talks to contemporary men around us, you all strangely shied away, preferring to discuss relics and largely unknown people to the audience.
On Lake, i told someone already, i've heard him myself and believe him above what the critics have to say. One thing you'll need to learn is that even the best men have 'formidable' critics and further links against them. From Jesus to Spurgeon to Kumuyi to Wigglesworth. Take this link for instance against Paul, i would not even advice you to read it, the whole world lies in wickedness. https://www.nairaland.com/1874144/real-apostle-paul

So you haven't noticed that both geneologies in Matt 1 and Lk 3 end at Jesus, through JOSEPH, not Mary.
Maybe falsehood helps you sleep better.
Disgrace everywhere? Say no more, you talk too much.
One genealogy starts with Jesus and the other ends with Jesus. One genealogy uses the word "son" which broadly is used for descendants both remote and close, in this case son in-law. The other genealogy uses the word "begat" which is not loose but more direct in meaning.

Liveair: Hahaha. Better look for good excuses.

Matt 1; There are only 26 ancestors to Jesus. From Solomon down, the names are of different individuals.
Lk 3; There are 41 ancestors to Jesus. At every stage the individuals are different from that of Matt 1.
i wonder how this line of thought helps you, it would mostly bring up question 2, then 3 and so forth. It's like beating about the bush.
Anyway, if it helps anyone here sleep better. Matthew records the Christ's paternal lineage while Luke records His maternal lineage.

Believe me, you know NOTHING about "sedimentology". You are a lay-man.

Where is your proof that a flood previously covered the ancient Pyramids which are older than your Noah's flood?

To enlighten you, have you heard of Dried-up rivers or Lakes? These are regions that became dry as a result of Desertification and Droughts.
Again, ancient Volcanic activities have been recorded to have dried waters up. These account for the sediments you now claim as evidence. Pls read more.

Am sure you didn't know there was an ICE AGE, which had also melted, covering large regions. Glacial Outbursts, Ocean Surge and Tsunami have all taken place previously and not found to have covered the earth.

Am very sure you are not even aware of 35,000 year old Mamoths found in Siberia or fossils of Prehistoric Trees older than 200,000,000 years. All these are far older than your biblical creation story which dates the world at 6,000 years.

Do well to prove to us that a World-Wide water covered the Earth in 2350BC or there about.
I can't understand why you guys are so resistant to superior information and arguement.
You talk too much for a male. Try and reread what i said and then comment.

Liveair: Really?
There is no evidence of the first destruction of the world by the flood of Noah (as bible recorded) from several researches, even in the Pyramids which are older than Noah.
Remains of Ancient Trees over 200,000 000 years in regions of Nova Scotia, Canada were found not to have been immersed in any flood and are even older than biblical creation.
Carcases of 35,000 year old Mamoths in Northern Siberia have been found not ever submerged in any flood.
With these facts its safe to say that your quoted biblical prophecy of doom is just fable.
A young evangelical atheist on the loose. Stop stating those things you read on the web as fact as if saying so makes it so. Basic sedimentology and fossil correlation show indications of several global floods. Also, throw those figures in the trash can where they belong, thanks.

Luke 4:40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
Acts 5:15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

These two events indicate sick people gathered and then healed. Also not forgetting the pool of Bethesda where sick people gathered in anticipation of divine healing.

DrummaBoy: I have done that, my dear, and found no such scripture that said or implied "Jesus gathered people to heal them" or operated a healing school. If you cannot provide the scripture, we must conclude that you are wrong to say Jesus gathered people for healing services and that the healing school operated by WOF adherents has no foundation in scripture.
Not so fast, i'm not the one to bring you to conclusion. Why the urge of 'must conclude' ? Why should your concluded conclusion rest on my provisions?

Another question please: Can we authoritatively say that Jesus ever "gathered people to heal them?" Can we find any biblical account for this? Are you saying Jesus gathered people exclusively for healing exercises like these WOF chaps do in their healing schools?

This is an all in one question.
Yes, search the scriptures. i'll like to be of help if you don't find.

DrummaBoy: 1. I suspected it. Thanks for being honest though. My advice: read that document even if it will be the last you will ever read from Nora. It way beyond false report. It provides further documents you can verify with. You won't find that in Lakes own books.

2. The question was whether Christ operated healing "schools" not whether healing can occur though believers or not.
i'll oblige you and read your book or document when i have the time. i can assure you, i've heard Dr. lake himself and i believe him above the contrary reports, thanks.
The answer was that Jesus and the apostles gathered people to heal them. That is what a healing school supposedly does.
