mazaje: You are just funny and a terrible apologist. . .So now I am on the same level with this god of yours that you claim is all powerful and can do all things?. . .You are deluded. . .If I am all powerful , love humans, want to be in a special relationship with them, and also have the ability to do all things, then there won't be such unnecessary suffering in the world. . .I will eradicate Ebola. . .heck, human beings are running around in a frenzy, risking the only life they have to save others infected with the disease, yet your god that is said to be able to do all things is just there looking and watching babies vomit and bleed themselves to death?. . .You are a better person that this god you are trying to advertise, I am putting it to you that if you have the ability to heal a baby you see vomiting and bleeding its self to death you will do it without thinking twice. . Your god can not do it, not because he doesn't want to but because he is imaginary. . Your god can only heal people in the pages of story books(bible) but not in reality. . .
You're ranting you know?
Christianity Etc › Re: How Ebola Kills God As Well As Humans by Image123(m): 4:42pm On Aug 08, 2014
mazaje: Nope. . .I won't. . .
That's my exact point. The fact that someone/God can do something or has even done it before doesn't mean he/He will do it again now. You lack base to criticize God for not healing since He claims He can/did. You're doing same in your little human shoes without batting a lid. You seemed pleased even.

mazaje: what are you saying ?. . You are just all over the place. . .Your mother you said will allow you cancerous arm to be amputated instead of losing you, right?. . .The question is if your mum has the ability to stop you from getting cancer she will not even allow you to get cancer in the first place. . .secondly the god idea you subscribe to is a sadistic and barbaric god idea, he is nothing close to humans, humans do NOT behave like your god, your god is a monster. . .stop comparing the love humans share btw them and their kids to the imaginary love that exist btw you and your sadistic god idea. . .No parent will EVER burn his child in fire for 100 years for disobeying him/her. So stop comparing the love that exist btw humans and their kids with the sadistic kind of god that exist btw you and your imaginary god. . .
Read what you bold again, i said she would and should for the greater good. This would probably be too much for your unbelieving self, but mankind is a whole and God would 'amputate' dead wood and take in the innumerable multitudes of saved ones. Sinners are not children of God. Adam had ability not to get the cancer. He was given the ability.
Also, it was dapo that started the love comparison which is a good one BTW.

Oh common, i've said it several times that the teaching of tithes (like virtually every other bible subject e.g prayer, baptism, holy spirit etc) has its abuse, misuse and right use. i say it again, i have yet to hear any major Nigerian preacher condemn one to hell for not giving tithes. i have also said and say again that if they do, i think they're wrong. Stop harassing me up and down about tithes, i thought you just made that resolve about one week now?

1 Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

Of course, deliverance from hell is in the package.

mindurbiznes: true, I have long discovered the issue with the Bible and successive pattern. But in this case, for kjv, I tried to use punctuations to try make sense of the whole account:

Genesis 5:3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:

5:4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:

5:5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.

5:6 And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:

5:7 And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters:

5:8 And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.

Seeing the full stops, that should clear the mist

Why are so excited to say nora is frustrated and silent at the fact that ur so called men of God are emarassin themelves?
Well, that was what i said that got his attention and made him to start recanting. Nora was showing frustration and somebody had to calm her down. i see no man of God embarrassing themselves. A christian has a right to believe that he or his children cannot contract ebola. He should also be responsible enough not to tempt God or put others in danger. This is all that seems to have been done. Did you read the thread heading at all? Precautions were taken ensuring ebola victims or infested countries don't come, then he supposedly told his pastors to be cautious, did you even see that? Then he told his children not to be afraid, that is as common sense as it gets. It's unfortunate we're not standing on the same level, so i don't expect that we see things the exact same way.

You have a crafted way of covering the faults of these men like Adeboye. You're always behind these men when they say or make silly talk\decisions. You never think the best of men are still men. You can keep deceiving yourself you don't believe everything the news says. You could as well say you don't believe the on-going Ebola virus. If you believe that, how come you don't see fault in silly decision\statement of Adeboye in connection with the virus. Pray for Adeboye to return back on track because he is fast loosing focus on spiritual matters.

2. i'm not ALWAYS defending most of pastor Adeboye's actions. It don't stop me from talking in his favor once in a while.

Can you turn a new leaf in hell when you would never be given a chance to come out of it?Burning your entire self is it the Same as burning your cancerous hands, what comparison are you trying to make?

How do you mean by your Mum is cruel or demonic? I hope your Mum isn't on nairaland to are you say this about her. No matter what your Mum does to punish you,she can never fold her arms and watch you burn in hell forever.

It's very funny Hw people try to make sensible something that is completely senseless.

So by burning you in hell forever how does that bring out the best in you?
TELL ME!!!!!

Are you still confused?
Well, for starters, you assumed that my mother would never allow me or mine to be destroyed forever no matter what. i showed you that she would for a greater good. You also wrongly thought that my mum has no demands because she loves me. You were wrong.
My mum wasn't cruel, i thought she was, but looking back i KNOW she was not. Believe me, people would look back retrospectively in eternal regret in hell fire. i didn't say my mum IS cruel and demonic, you need to read carefully. i said i THOUGHT her DEMANDS were cruel and demonic. i also gave you the retrospect view. Do use some retention.

Can u see the difference now? Between ur mum's genuine love and God's love?
Eerrrmmmmmmm, my mum would agree to amputate my cancerous hands forever instead of losing a complete me. My mum, you don't want to know all her demands which i thought cruel and demonic but which actually paid off now that i look back retrospectively. The 'ands' are not necessarily indicative of a successive pattern. For instance, Seth didn't just start living AFTER Adam died.

iamjane: yea my thoughts exactly, but see this trend below huh

Genesis 4:1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.

4:25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.

5:3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth
i don't think it was a trend. It was simply stated in passing that they begat sons and daughters.

It's a problem of being doctrine-centred instead of being evangelism-centred. Don't get me wrong, doctrine is vital but should not be center. Unfortunately, false doctrines abound as there is a dearth of teachers. We have good preachers no doubt, but the problem is that a good preacher would preach anything well whether it is correct or not. So we get to be denominational, fighting for our doctrines instead of rescuing the perishing.

DrummaBoy: Forgive my answering this late. I was hoping to post after trustman whose post you quoted. I have a quote from a website that answers your question directly. I will paste the quote here but I request that you go to the link and read the whole article. The discussion was on Jesus Spiritual Death:

One must distinguish between what is
didactic (meant for instruction, and in
this instance: biblical doctrine and
theory), and what is narrative as in the
example of Matthew's account of Jesus'
death. When Matthew records the words
of Christ, "My God, My God, why hast
thou forsaken Me?" (Mat. 27:46) he does
this as the account to what transpired
before the eyes of witnesses, and not as
a teaching on the atoning work of Christ.
In his book Did Jesus Die Spiritually?,

Hobart E. Freeman writes,
What are we to make of our Lord's
statement "My God, My God, why hast
thou forsaken Me?" First, this cry of
despair was not merely spontaneous, but
Jesus was well aware that He was
reciting a quotation from a prophetic
passage, Psa. 22:1. King David first
uttered these words in the midst of
suffering trials. But these words also
have an application to the Messiah, as do
numerous other Old Testament passages.
[Hobart E. Freeman, Did Jesus Die
Spiritually? (Warsaw, Ind.: Faith
Ministries and Publications, n.d.), p.
39.].

I would advise one read Psalm 22 if
not entirely certain what its content is
for personal clarification.
Psalm 22 is entirely prophetic, having
reference to the crucifixion of Christ.
Jesus truly in agony in Psalm 22
identifies Himself as the One of whom
the prophetic Psalm spoke. Such
prophetic statements are foreordained
expressions to fulfill the Old Testament
prophets predictions.

An interesting but flawed illustration
used by many Bible teachers to describe
the separation between Father and Son
is the picturesque explanation of how the
Father had to turn His head from His
Son when the sins of the world were
dumped on Him. Psalm 22, however,
repudiates this illustration by stating
that exactly the opposite happened; the
Father did not turn away from His Son,
but looked upon Him with care.
" For he hath not despised nor abhorred
the affliction of the afflicted; neither
hath he hid his face from him; but when
he cried unto him, he heard." (Psa.
22:24)

Please take your time to read Psalm 22 and see what the author above is saying. Verse 1, where he exclaimed why has God forsaken him, was the anguish cry of a suffering man. It all looked as if God had forsaken him. And don't we feel so too in our sufferings? But alas, verse 24 gives us the clear picture: "... nor has he turned his face away from him. When he cried he heard him." God was with Jesus, like he is with us, all through his stay on the cross. If he said to us "I would never leave you nor forsake you," he would then have been lying to forsake Jesus even if it was for a moment on the cross.

www.deceptioninthechurch.com/word-faith2.html
lolololol, drumb is being courteous, there's reason for worry be that. Anyway, so you're saying Jesus was not forsaken by God but lied when He clearly said "why have You forsaken Me"? Or was He naming and claiming what was not?

Why are they being required to go look for ebola patients? Churches have not closed service, infact Adeboye is currently doing annual convention where everyone is invited. If anything, it's only precautionary to avoid spreading disease to others.
