Dapo777: So It's the faith that is healing them not the drug formula?
Even If you are talking about the placebo effect, I know about it,Infact I have written an article making reference to the placebo effect here on nairaland.

Something about the placebo effect is this:once you can believe a particular drug is genuine and strong, that particular drug would Bethe most effective for you,It's not just about the faith,It's your brain that is subconsciously healing your body. Every human has the innate ability to "self-healing" If I come to give you a sugar coated piece of chalk and make you believe that I specialize in you illness and the drug that is with me was specifically formulated for your illness, once your brain believes this and you take this drug, you would see how goose pimples would rise on your skin, and how fast you would recover. Now tell me,is it the fake drug,or your faith or your body that healed itself?

What If I told you that I have been healed of a strong headache within a second of taking paracetamol ,that is before the drug even gets to my stomach and start dissolving. Obviously It's not the paracetamol, neither was it my faith, because without the drug the faith is nothing,it was my body that healed itself. Read more on placebo effect.
Read more on faith.

Faith is a multifaceted and much complex subject than for me to sit down and discuss in great details with scoffers. It's that unfortunate for you lot but do take serious notes of the little being given. Not all faith is geared towards healing or being wealthy. Some people have faith to endure suffering, some for righteousness and God regards all the faith.

Hebrews 11:35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: 11:36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: 11:37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented.

From the above scriptures for instance, faith was used to endure torture, go through trial and imprisonment, stoning, temptations and being destitute. Get your complete bibles please.

We take drugs because drugs are formulated, tested for safety and side effects, and then approved by a regulating body for sale and public consumption. The dosages are measured, and the efficacy is predictable.

How many hours of prayer, for example, does it take to cure a headache?
Faith is belief and present tensed. Faith the size of a mustard seed will cure headache i guess. What would make you believe that it was prayer that cured the headache. i guess that is the question you should be asking yourself.

Dapo777: If you don't believe the drugs would work, will that stop the drugs from working?
You are talking as If faith is essential in medicine.
When a doctor prescribes drug,is he doing so according to faith?

Do They not warn you behind the container of drugs that If you don't see improvement after three days see your doctor? Did They write there that you must have faith in the drug before it works? Or Did They give you 100% assurance that the drug will surely work? But in the Bible we are given 100% assurance that whatever we ask for in prayers would ALWAYS be answered.

Can you see the difference now? undecided
i've seen people who don't improve significantly until given injection of a particular medicine. They believe more in injection and it shows in their body response compared to others. Some people would simply not get well except they see a particular doctor, or hospital, or are admitted into a ward. Some have malaria and until they take a particular drug formula don't show improvement even though other medicine was administered. It is naive and delusional to think that individual faith has no place in health recovery.
BTW, i did not say God and medicine are the same, i know the difference.

truthislight: "And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:" (Hebrews 7:5).

"And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth." (Hebrews 7:8 ).

"Men that dies" no longer receive tithes now with the new high priest.

If you or your GO ever eat of tithes now, you are all will be answereable to the new high priest.

It does not matter whatever you claim.

"Men that dies" no longer receive tithes.

Simple!

The tithe of the OT was said to be given to God, but the bible said it was the livites that collected it, let it be that Your GO is not the one collecting tithe today and claims to collect it for God, like the Livite that collected for God, the Bible still refer to it that it is "Men that dies".

And men that dies only collect then/there/the livites Era. Hence, here/now, with christ as the new high priest, "men that dies" no longer receive tithes.

Be it for God like the livites or for themselves. Whichever way you look at it, "men that dies" no longer receive tithes.

Your cup of tea if you and your GO are not men that dies like the Livites..

You all are really "On Your Own". > OYO
i had to make a quick dash to the throne of grace bro, you do zap grace.

Income is the consumption and savings
opportunity gained by an entity within a
specified timeframe, which is generally
expressed in monetary terms.[1] However, for
households and individuals, "income is the
sum of all the wages, salaries, profits,
interests payments, rents and other forms of

In the field of public economics , the term may
refer to the accumulation of both monetary and
non-monetary consumption ability, with the
former (monetary) being used as a proxy for
total income. [1]

Zikkyy: If this is what you believe, no wahala.

simple. You said Jesus is under the Melchizedek type priesthood, so therefore he must collect tithe because priests under this type of priesthood collects tithe. abi no be so you talk? and we know priests under this type of priesthood don't use intermediary to collect tithe. If you don't know, melchizedek left his temple/palace to meet Abraham at the valley of shaveh to collect his tithe, he did not send anybody. This is how priest under this priesthood collects their tithe. So Jesus cannot use intermediary to collect his tithe o!

If you say an intermediary can collect tithe on behalf of Christ (a deviation from the standard under melchizedek type priesthood), your assertion that Jesus must collect tithe (because Melchi collected tithe) cannot be correct.
You are either lying or assuming a lot, i made no assertions. Jesus is a priest after the order of Melchisedek, it's what the Bible says. Was Jesus a king and a priest 'physically' like Melchisedek? Why must He collect them tithes 'physically'?

Do you have evidence?

Leviticus 27:30-33 (NIV)
30 “‘A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord. 31 Whoever would redeem any of their tithe must add a fifth of the value to it. 32 Every tithe of the herd and flock—every tenth animal that passes under the shepherd’s rod—will be holy to the Lord. 33 No one may pick out the good from the bad or make any substitution. If anyone does make a substitution, both the animal and its substitute become holy and cannot be redeemed.’”

Leviticus 27:30-33 (NIV)
30 “‘A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees,
belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord. 31 Whoever would redeem any of their tithe must add a fifth of the value to it. 32 Every tithe of the herd and flock—every tenth animal that passes under the shepherd’s rod—will be holy to the Lord. 33 No one may pick out the good from the bad or make any substitution. Oga, all tenths cannot be tithe na! the above cannot be correct. Tithe in the bible is always a tenth part of something or the tenth item. For Abraham it was war boot.y, for the Israelite it was farm produce.
Was Abraham's tithe God's tithe? A plain direct answer would greatly aid progress. You know the very context i refer to when i say there is nothing like God's tithe.
