Joagbaje: I have said it couple of times . Everyone should flow their convictions quoting Romans :

Romans 14:5-6
One man esteemeth one day above another:another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

But anitithers still insists on abusing and insulting others calling them MUGU , thieves etc. over their belief and faith.
This is the very point. How hard is this to understand? 62 ages hard and counting.

Candour: No problems Joagbaje grin grin cheesy

At least folks who hitherto didn't fully understand their bibles can come to this thread to get some answers. You being a pastor, no one expects you to give up this cash cow without a fight no matter how dirty.

Cheers
There is absolutely no need for this and its like. You do not have to tie his teaching or views to his being a pastor or whatever, or to his denomination. He has not said anything to suggest this correlation, why the sentimental behaviou?

ayoku777: Sherloch holmes, the great scientist said "the bane of science begins when we begin to twist facts to fit theories instead of adjust theories to fit facts.". I think in a way this has also been the bane of christianity, where we use scriptures to rational our opinion instead of letting the scriptures determine our opinion.

Pro-tithers can't continue to run from one tithing structure to another whenever they meet a brick wall. You use abrahamic tithing when it suits, then when it doesn't suit you use tithing under the priesthood of aaron, then jump to tithing under zadok. Every believer is a priest when it suits what you want to say, then next time only the clergy are priests when tithing is up. This is called dogmatism, where you use the scriptures as it suits your prejudices.

If you want to be judged as unbiased, stand on the melchizedek priesthood, the priesthood in operation now and explain tithing under it. Is every christian a priest under this order? Yes or no. Does the high priest receive tithes from the priests in this order. Yes or no. No sentiments no prejudice. Sentimental interpretation of scripture (interpretation as it suits my prejudice) is the bane of christianity and the cause of dogmatism and doctrinal division in the body
But nobody ran anywhere na. We've simply being answering queries based on posts made. It's folks asking questions from genesis to revelations that should be faulted if there is any fault. Is there ANY priest that is not a Levite? Yes or no. Is there ANY scripture that states that priests do not tithe or are not to tithe? Yes or no.

debosky: Bro, I don't regard myself as an anti-tither. I support those who tithe (e.g on a monthly basis) with the understanding that what they are doing is completely different from what the Israelites were commanded to do (specifically limited to agricultural produce - animals and crops, not money except as a substitute) and different from what was recorded by Abram (given from spoils of war, not recorded from his 'usual occupational income').

It is my desire that those who tithe would even continue to do so, with the clear understanding of precisely what they are doing. If, after understanding what they do, they choose not to tithe, that is their decision to make.

What I do not support is, for example, a wrong interpretation of Hebrews 7:8 (comparing Levi's priests to Melchisedek) to claim Jesus is collecting tithes today (i.e. alluding it is also a continuation and no different to the law requirement). Nor wrongly interpreting Jesus saying 'obey the law you were given completely' (including tithes, mercy , etc.) to Pharisees to mean such is applicable to us (not far from alluding that the entire law is applicable to Christians as requirements).

I seek understanding - once people understand, whether they give 10 or 1 or 100% is immaterial.
Unfortunately antitithers do not want to hear this, neither are they satisfied. You have just disobeyed the "thou shalt not tithe" law.

ayoku777: I've read it and re-read it. And start from verse 1, you will see that the Levites and the priests are clearly differentiated by God. Infact the chapter 18 came after the levites fought Moses in chapter 16 coz they wanted the same rights as the priests. This isn't a recent study for me.
Hmmm, so you are actually suggesting receiving without giving? You want the right to receive but not to give? Do you indeed think that the priests did not give tithe? Were the priests Levites or no?
observe that these statements are all questions. i want to be clearer on your position, thanks. i'll reply more comprehensively later.

Pastor Kun: Hear sayhuh I am not surprised as I have known you to be a notorious bare faced liar on this forum. Several deeper life members have testified about DL ban on TV even on this forum. I also remember very clearly in the eighties at the height of spreading this poison, several DL members I know threw away their TVs based on this false doctrine.
You said "I just remembered he once labelled the TV as the devil's box and banned his members from watching and owning TVs."
Is this hearsay, false witness or falsehood or it is something that you can prove? Because i happen to know deeperlife members who have TV and they have had TVs in their churches for years now. Can you post any evidence, like a book Kumuyi wrote, or a youtube link, or a message or cassette with title and date?

I don't believe that Voldemort really exists yet I believe that he is evil. Your God is in the same category as Voldemort.
Oh tell me more, what is abortion. You seem to want to define things to suit yurself. Are aborted babies innocent or guilty?

ayoku and co, you might ne needing many translations, concordance and maybe Strong's for this.

Numbers 18:26 Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe. 18:27 And this your heave offering shall be reckoned unto you, as though it were the corn of the threshingfloor, and as the fulness of the winepress. 18:28 Thus ye also shall offer an heave offering unto the LORD of all your tithes, which ye receive of the children of Israel; and ye shall give thereof the LORD's heave offering to Aaron the priest.

i want to believe that all the folks that liked ayoku's post truly nd sincerely did not know this verse above. God help us.
Christianity Etc › Re: Tithes And Offerings by Image123(m): 9:21pm On Sep 22, 2013
Alwaystrue: Hmmmmmm, and to think the Levitical priesthood was still in effect while Jesus was physically on earth. Why would Jesus want to receive tithe then when his priesthood was yet to arise? Afterall the only other person who received tithe from Abraham was Melchisedek the priest.
And there was no scripture where Christ worked for a material harvest when He started His ministry so on what would He tithe? Infact I see no scripture where He gave offerings during His ministry yet He sat close enough to see the widow put in her offering and commended her but ofcourse no one has issues with offerings. Lol.
What? WIDOW, OFFERING, JESUS COMMEND? Don't wound people please. How can you mention a widow giving offering and Jesus commending all in the same paragraph? Don't you feel widows should be exempt from giving? Thank God for you sister, we walk by faith in Jesus, not by our feelings and sensational justifications.

That is why I wonder why you and others believe in nonsense. What you're saying is like saying Voldemort owns you. Once you realize that your God is no better than hundreds of other fictional characters, then you'll understand why you believe in nonsense.
Abortion is a killing of babiea, millions BTW. No need to play with words. Does God have right to order killing of children? Why, you think wmen can choose whether or not to kill their babies.
It is nonsense, makes no sense that you do not believe there is a God but you believe that the same God that does not exist is evil.

By the way, God doesn't own me. He isn't even out there to start owning anything.
You said it is okay, you are in support, the woman has the right to kill her baby if she so chooses. This is not an assumption, but a paraphrase of supporting abortion. Or did the baby commit any crime, the millions of babies killed annually throuh abortion that is.

Oh so God does not own you neither is He out there, but He ordered the killing of babies nd He is evil. This is the definition of nonsense. It makes no sense.

Goshen360: Yes, I am the one that said the above!!! Jesus said to Peter, you will deny me three times, does that apply to you or to Christians...just because it is the words of Christ coming out the mouth of Christ? Jesus said to the thief, TODAY you will be with me in paradise, does that apply to you? Jesus said to the woman at the well, the man u NOW LIVE WITH is not your husband. Does that apply to you?

By now, you should be ashamed of saying certain things on this forum. The same way we showed you hebrews 7:8 from many translations and yet, you, in your lies, said it was JESUS that receive or receiveth or whatever you call it, tithe from Abraham, instead of melchizedek.

Rightly dividing the word is know what was said and to whom it was said at every dispensation. When I said that, I meant, not every word that came out of the mouth of our Lord came out as a TEACHING.
What Jesus told Peter applies to everyone. It teaches us not to be presumptous and to be watchful and prayerful. Satan desires to bring down every believer.
What Jesus told the man on the cross applies to us all.It teaches us that if we believe in Him, we will be with Him in paradise. This is a universal truth that the thief on the left missed. He must have thought Jesus' words did not apply to him.
What Jesus said to the samaritan woman applies to all. Anyone anywhere who is married to a fifth man and living with him is not livin with her husband. This shuld be kinderaten bible knowledge. How do you manage to miss this,yu are only looking for where Jesus, sorry Paul gves commands that you can obey, you are seekin to be under the law albeit new testament.
Hebrews 7:8 talks of someone that is currently receivin tithe, that has got to be Jesus.
Jesus said to TEACH all things whtsover He has commanded, but you say not every word of Jesus should be taught. The good news is that Jesus is my Lord, not you.

If you can't answer the questions I asked, just ignore me. I didn't ask question to mock him but to affirm the truth of what he believes, teaches and professes.
What is that one question again? i thought you were thinking, dear.

thehomer: Because adult humans cannot live in ordinary fish for three days.
Well, we have no reason to believe it was a special fish. Wat we are told is that God was involved, GOD had prepared a fish. God is the special one. When the donkey spake, when the animals came to Adam to be named, when the animals came to Noah's ark, when the bush was on fire nd was not burned, when the Red Sea parted, it was not because they were special,it was because the special God was involved.

Not only do i not like your answer, it is baseless and not lacks logic. You can't just say something is wrong because it is wrong. Our reasons make us different, we are not in agreement. Its like we both saying we like 12year Yvette. i might lile her because she's a brilliant pupil while you might like her because she's too scred to tell mum that she was molested. Oh so what i think affects why you think what you think? i do not think so. My reasons differ from yours. You're known for fickleness nd swervings as arguing against God killing children to supporting millions of abortions that go on annually. That is because you have no base, you just think things are wrong because they are wrong, and they are right because they are right. We are not in agreement. The question is WHY, not WHAT. Why do you think it is wrong for children to be killed, it is the same you that thinks it is okay if we call the name abortion.

You take this as evidence of God working in mysterious ways? Consider this clip.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1pCudKUIRg
It was a big fish no doubt. The Bible says GOD had prepred the fish. The God clause in the event made it supernatural, so you do not have to expect the normal for God had prepared the fish. If God had not prepared the fish, Jonas would not have lasted three days in it.

With this churchtax and what the get from the goverment because all pastors and priest work as teacher in the school to teach religion. Pastors and priest get payed from the church and in our churches we never hear about tithing and seed sowing.

We hear about love each other, help your neighbor, help poor children, have a good heart for people in need and when you want something you have to work hard and god will help you that your dream come tru but they never, never preach about money.
Pls, lets dwell on what the Bible says abve personal experience. Personal experienes would not suffice, every one has them. i presume there is no church and even mosque where they do not preach love and giving of alms or the value of hardwrk.
